We also own the downtown cafe, Broad Porch Coffee, so are local and can help if you ever need anything. We are family friendly and love dogs, no pet fee. Bright and cheery in the bedrooms best suited for 2-4 adults or family with children. Wonderful sound of the river throughout the property. Step outside to hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails, and stocked lakes and streams. Well maintained paved state road to cabin driveway. The house is 20 minutes West of Harrisonburg VA and JMU.

Little House on Strother Run

Nestled between Mount Tom and Double Top Mountain and at the edge of the Shenandoah National Forest, Little House is the perfect starting out and ending point for a peaceful and relaxing stay in the Appalachian Mountains. Little House is located at the edge of our 7 acre property. You'll enjoy the bucolic atmosphere of our farmette which includes use of our shared sitting area on Strother Run. The sitting area is shared with the main house which is rented or used by our family periodically.

Our cabin, located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is uniquely positioned overlooking a large open field where hawks hunt and bears leisurely stroll. Our neighbors have horses that peer over the fence (nosy) pet them but don’t feed them, please. Our cabin was built in 1865 by a Confederate soldier returning from the Civil War. Eleven children were born and raised in John Pope Cabin. Our cabin is rustic. An inviting front porch with swing is waiting for you @walnuthillcabin

Ideal location for your mountain getaway. Our log cabin borders Shenandoah National Park and is 10 minutes from Skyline Drive and hiking trails. Secluded and quiet, our inviting cabin has a hot tub, deck with mountain views, porch, fireplace, outdoor fire pit, TVs (DVDs only, no service), and WiFi (satellite - videos & streaming not supported). Our cabin is an ideal location for hiking in the Shenandoahs, wine tasting, Luray Caverns, and more. And it is less than two hours from DC!

This house was purchased and furnished to be a vacation rental, from the coffee maker to the outdoor pool with a view. Luray has been our home, our escape, and our happy place for some time and we are excited to be able to share this town with you and your family. The house is large with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, beautiful views, and an above-ground pool. We are conveniently located near Lake Arrowhead, Luray Caverns, and Shenandoah National Park.
