A Peaceful Paradise: The Perfect Getaway Upon arrival, we were greeted with the delicious smell of fresh bread and freshly cooked Anzac biscuits. It's the little touches that make an experience special, and Paul and Janet have truly mastered it. This property is absolutely stunning! The studio is beautifully appointed with immaculate attention to detail throughout. The peaceful surroundings offer a perfect retreat, with private dams, beautiful walking paths, and abundant wildlife—we were delighted to spot kangaroos in the morning and evening. Paul and Janet were exceptional hosts—warm, friendly, responsive, and incredibly accommodating without being intrusive. They've created something truly special here and their passion for providing guests with a memorable experience is evident in every aspect of the property. If you're considering booking this place, don't hesitate—it's an 11/10 experience that you won't forget.

Jacinta’s airbnb is an extremely well presented high-end property. The place was much bigger than expected, based on the airbnb photos. Jacinta and Tony were great hosts and even provided us with their own coffee machine when our one wasn’t working. The wood burner (incl firewood) was a welcomed extra on chilly autumn nights. The location is perfect for daytrips to Maldon, Castlemaine and Bendigo.

Wonderful Airbnb and host. Gorgeous views over the little dam with lots of wildlife to enjoy watching from the deck with your morning cuppa. The place is so quiet and comfortable with many small and unexpected luxuries and little extras. You will have absolutely everything you need, including ample firewood and even toasting forks for the provided marshmallows! We loved the breakfast hamper which was incredibly generous and delicious. Genevieve was a very proactive host who clearly cares deeply about the quality of her property and guest’s experience there. She made sure we had the right directions to find her place safely. Check in was a breeze and a lovely guest book answered all our questions and more. We even had a late check out which was such a relaxing way to finish the weekend. I would recommend hilltop to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away- great stay and thanks again!

Kate’s place was the perfect escape from the city for a long weekend. The cottage is full of character—unique, cosy, and set in a quaint, peaceful spot. We loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoying meals in the garden. It’s also just a short walk to some of Castlemaine’s best food and wine. Kate provided a wonderfully detailed welcome guide along with so many thoughtful recommendations that made our stay even better. Our dog Robin especially loved curling up by the fireplace. We couldn’t recommend this place more!

Beautiful little spot, 20 mins outside Bendigo. Perfect for a few days spent exploring the local area and then coming back in the evenings to walk down and chill with the adorable alpacas!

This was a great place to go on a solo trip as it felt private enough but still safe, knowing that the main house was close. The place was exactly like the pictures and had all that you needed for a few night staycation. Carla was a great host she was very communicative, friendly and gave very clear instructions. I loved the booklet full of information and pamphlets, it gave me ideas of what to do and see in the area. Overall, I would definitely stay here again if I am visiting the area. Thanks Carla!

We enjoyed a relaxing stay in Chewton Bushlands - with its relaxing & cozy lounge with wood fire, books & DVDs. The kitchen was well set up for eating in. The beds were comfortable. We were only a short drive from the charming Saturday market in Chewton & getting provisions in Castlemaine, exploring the excellent local bookstore & cafes. Finally we appreciated visits from the local wildlife including 2 wedge-tail eagles soaring overhead.

Our short stay was perfect for a night away. The Timber and Stone is a lovely eco studio, with beautiful surrounds and great amenities to match. A must stay if your in Castlemaine area.
