The roof is of a type called “nobori-hama”, which is commonly found in Hokuriku machiya houses from the Meiji to Taisho periods, and features a deeply overhanging eaves with a ledge.A distinctive feature is the yellow and green stained glass panels set into the glass-framed sliding doors, which create a glamorous, restaurant-like atmosphere. Before the war, the Hikiyama Festival procession passed through this run-down town in the evening.In the town's premier entertainment district, young people who had achieved their goals* worked here with enthusiasm.There were also a lot of onlookers, and it took over two hours to get through here—it was very busy.
