This Airbnb experience had both pros and cons. Pros: it was very affordable and is just enough for one person. It’s within walking distance of the Avon and Studio Theatres and across the street from a YMCA and half a block from an elementary school, so it’s safe. It was also very clean.
Cons: the walls are very thin. You can hear your neighbors having sex, and you can absolutely hear the family of squirrels who live in the exterior wall. The AC works great but also is loud.
The main problem with the unit was with the locks. The electronic lock on the unit door had to be hit over and over again to get it to recognize a button-push. Then when the manual lock got tripped, I had to talk to the owner’s phone service for 45 minutes and send her a photo of the door (??) before she would even call the owner to have him unlock the door. It also took her several tries to reach the owner before she was able to wake him. I appreciate that he came quickly but having to go through a 3P was scary.
