Bungalow in the Clouds

AnjiRating, 5 stars4 months ago
What an adventure. We were a group of friends with people of all ages and everyone loved the space. It’s not a child friendly place but kids (and everyone else) loved the surroundings, birds and views. We hiked to the neighboring hill and were rewarded with amazing views. The hosts are very attentive and dealt with any issues proactively. It’s not an easy location but one worth making the effort to get to. The house is beautiful and rustic. An outdoor bathroom isn’t the most practical but somehow adds to the house and we can see how it would be great on the summer. The kitchen had everything we needed, we cooked all our meals with ease, and the local housekeeper is perfect if you prefer not to cook, in fact having her cook for you is a great way of empowering her to create a better life for herself and her family. Jody and Punyaka were always responsive and we hope to have the chance to visit again, it’s not an experience we will easily forget! Don’t miss Diyaluma falls (take swimsuit).

UdaKanda, stunning private hilltop villa nr beach

MarjoleinRating, 5 stars128 months ago
This is an amazing place! The villa feels like a true home, with nice furniture, tastefully decoration and comfortable beds. There are even very friendly dogs, who look after you during your stay. Podi's cooking is amazing and a real treat. Definitely try his amazing tuna! Around the villa there are plenty of birds, monkeys, butterflies and flowers to spot. Imagine yourself taking a swim in the early morning in the infinity pool, where your view is determined by jungle trees and monkeys swinging around. We stayed for two whole days after a round trip to relax a bit. Definitely recommended! Just one note, since the villa is almost everywhere open, make sure you bring some repellent. There are mosquito nets (beautiful ones!) around the bed but still there are some bugs flying around, so therefore you perhaps like to bring some repellent. We did not find it disturbing and think the openness adds to the magic of the villa.

Villa Sunrise, a quiet place right on the beach

DanielRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Such a magic and breathtaking place on earth. The house is quite simple but fresh with separate bedrooms with separate doors. But what a location. Your private paradise beach but with restaurants and small nice hotels as neighbors. Tangalle town is small, friendly and with amazing restaurants. Quite and genuine. To the left you have long beaches with sea turtles. To the right more friendly to swim. The ocean is so close and the only surprise was how roaring the Tangalle coast ocean is. Bring earplugs plugs for better sleep. But all worth it waking up walking two meters and tipping the toes in sand. In your own private villa. We were a family of four and enjoyed the bedrooms, bathrooms en suite and cosy balcony and outdoor terass.

This place is a gem! I loved gardens and having our meals outside. The place is clean and tidy. Ranjith, our lovely host, was incredibly responsive and helpful. Whether you’re planning a short or long stay, I highly recommend this place. It’s very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need.

Villa Green Waves (05 BR with Swimming Pool)

ShannonRating, 5 stars13 months ago
The villa was perfect for our group. It was a little further out of town than we had anticipated, but we grew to love the peaceful isolation in no time and Ishan, the house helper, was always quick to get us tuktuks. All floors were VERY slippery when wet (which was always, with a pool and afternoon showers) so we had to be constantly vigilant with small kids. But otherwise it provided the perfect relaxing escape. Hetti very kindly organised for a local village lady to come and cook meals for us too. Delicious! Thanks for the wonderful stay.

Tea House Villa

We had a great time at Raki’s place. It was a nice and peaceful villa located at a secluded place. We loved the swimming pool, the privacy and also the cozy rooms. The staff including Isuru were responsive and friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Highly recommended, specially for group stays.

Beautiful venue with great activities to enjoy. Strongly recommend to purchase dinner and lunch, Prashan is a great cook! Prashan also helped us ordered a Safari tour, with breakfast packed for us to enjoy in the Safari. Highly recommend anyone who travels to Udawalawa to stay here.
