Casa Makai was a true jungle paradise! The house itself was beautifully designed, even better than the photos, with comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The outdoor space was amazing, perfect for relaxing in the hammock. It's a short 10min walk to Playa Maderas (great for surfing) and 3 min walk to Buena Vista Surf Club (excellent yoga). Laura was a fantastic host, very accommodating. Highly recommend!

The location of the house was great with amazing views! The house was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped if you prefer to stay in and cook. The infinity pool was a definite plus. We ate at two of the four restaurants that Rancho Santa has to offer that were very good. The hosts were very responsive. I stayed with my family of 6 adults and 2 kids and we fit very comfortably. We would definitely stay there again!!!

We’ve stayed at many houses in Hacienda Iguana and this house was by far our favorite. It’s got an amazing layout and gorgeous furniture + comfortable beds. But I’ll always remember the spectacular wrap around screened in porches on both levels. We stayed with our 4 month old and it was so beautiful to give him his midnight bottle in an Adirondack rocking chair on the screened in patio off the main bedroom…precious ‘new mom moments’ under the moon, stars, with the sound of the ocean (you can hear the waves at Panga Drops surf break). The property is located directly across the dirt road from the most secluded part of the beach. We had gorgeous evening walks at low tide sunset and came home to cook dinners in the well appointed kitchen. We had coffee by the crystal clear pool in the mornings and really enjoyed being walkable to Rancho Santanas Taqueria + the cute restaurants in Iguana. Bonus: we decided to elope! What a gorgeous home! We had an excellent time and were amazed at all the attention to detail and cleanliness. The amenities were incredible and communication was amazing. Fun yard games and a very kind cuidador. What a special place! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you so much!

It’s a great location just out of town. easy to get a taxi, rent a car or motorcycle. Very responsive host. Ac in bedrooms and living room, which was nice and the pool was well taking care of and great to meet people and relax. A washer is available for a small fee which is a bonus. There is a pickleball court at the condos and there was construction going on but only until 5 pm. Neighbours were all friendly and a lot of long term stays. You do pay for washer use and electricity separately. I would stay again.

Beautiful and private location with a view that is better than the pictures. Great retreat if you want to hangout out in the local area and walk to the beach. We will be back! There are a few restaurants on the beach but I’d generally recommend bringing your own provisions. 4wd or at least high clearance vehicle recommended for dry season. For the wet season, I’d definitely want a 4x4

This is the 4th time I stay in this house and I really like it. We always have great attention from them. 100% recommended. My family and I are very happy to always stay in this house.

We stayed in the house close to the pool, the accommodation met all our expectations, it is very spacious, the kitchen had everything necessary to organize our meals and the views are spectacular. The rooms are good size and lighting. We were also lucky enough to be able to participate in an event/meeting that John had organized and that included a very complete dinner in a super family atmosphere, I recommend asking John about his events and trying to coordinate the stay with one of them to live that experience too. Thank you for everything John, we will definitely be back!

Villa Urraca absolutely surpassed our family's expectations. Spending time there was one of the highlights of our vacation in Nicaragua. We especially appreciated the beachfront view, and the short walk to the beach, as well as the proximity to the restaurant and activities like the turtle release and horseback riding. Jon and his team were excellent hosts—very responsive and attentive. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Villa Urraca!

What a wonderful place. The view is so beautiful. Everything about this place was perfect. Pool area is very nice. The walk to restaurants and stores is easy and short. We wanted to stay longer but the house had someone else coming in. I would highly recommend staying here you will not be disappointed. Also, it is probably the best location to be. Go and enjoy!!!!

This house is amazing! The living room with floor to ceiling windows, the open kitchen, and wrap around deck blended together perfectly. Gorgeous place that will have anything you need, and want. You should stay here

Great place to stay. It has some restaurants nearby and also a supermarket within walking distance. It is about a 20-minute walk to Beginners Bay. You can either walk along the beach or a road that also leads to the beach.

We were very happy with our stay. It's very comfortable and Carolina was an amazing host. Just a short walk to the beach.
