The house is a 2 bed 1 bath 1974 flat top A Frame that sits on two acres on the outskirts of Lusby, MD—and a low traffic hour(ish) drive from the DMV. Beautifully decorated and spacious home in a charming, Alexandria neighborhood near the King Street metro and the shops and restaurants of Old Town. Just a 16 minute drive to downtown Washington DC, with a chef's kitchen and a relaxing great room. The house is also just a 10 minute drive to the new MGM Casino or the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor. The "no parties in house" rule is strictly followed. If you want to have a party or an event, this is not the place for you.

The rural charm of St. Mary’s County is among Maryland’s best kept secrets -- 90 minutes but a world away from Washington DC (with no Bay Bridge traffic!). We are near historic Leonardtown, boasting one of Maryland’s few remaining town squares (we affectionately call it “Mayberry”). And be sure to visit our sister property, White Point Cottage!

The Tobacco Barn

A high-peaked ceiling and exposed-log crossbeams reveal the Tobacco Barn’s past life as a place for hanging tobacco leaves to dry. Now converted to a one-room guest house, it features a front porch swing, cozy fireplace, soapstone floors, a homey sitting area, and a tall, high-post bed. The pressed-tin ceiling and whiskey-barrel sink in the bathroom add to its charm. Pets are allowed and are charged a fee of $25 (first night) and $15 (per ea. add'l night). Maximum two-person occupancy.

Open the garage door in the living area and step out on the 300 square foot screened in porch where you can relax at the firepit under the covered roof. On the porch at Hidden Haven, we like to say, "time wasted is time well spent". The romantic vibe and modern amenities make it a prefect place for a couple's getaway.

The Alton Cottage -a luxury country retreat

The Alton Cottage is a charming, newly refurbished 1820s guest house- formerly a summer kitchen to the original farm house. Views are of rolling fields and their bovine occupants. We are within 30 minutes of almost 20 wineries and another 20 breweries, 5 min to Airlie, and only 5 mi to Old Town Warrenton. We are also close to several antique stores, farmers markets and Shenandoah National Park. We strive to make every guests stay special.
