Centuries ago, a castle called ‘Huis Ulft’ was located on the premises. It used to belong to the sister of one of the Netherlands most important historical figures. Vacation in the monument Built around 1550 on an even older vaulted cellar, the house has a late medieval floor plan and is likely to have been used as a simple small commercial house between the Rhine and the market with the originally hall-like room height in the front and the office in the back. It may be the oldest commercial building in the trading town of Rees. The listed house was privately restored in cooperation with the monument authorities from 2017 to 2019.
