We rent a bright and typical apartment, with terrace, in the heart of Riomaggiore. It is is in close proximity to all points of interest as train station, hiking trails, boat dock, beach, restaurants, bars and grocery stores. It is is located in a quiet parallel street of the Main Street, via Colombo.
“Sabine’s place was so cute And quaint and larger than we expected. She met us by her shop and walked us to the apartment, which may be difficult to find for the first time otherwise. She even went out of her way to find out if the hiking trails along the coast were open or not for us. The apartment was conveniently located near the center of town and close to all the shops and restaurants. She was so sweet to leave us fresh tulips for our stay. The view from the balcony upstairs was great with a coffee in the morning. We would highly recommend her place.”
5 Sensi di Mare is a spacious apartment located in Riomaggiore's picturesque harbor. It has classic views of the harbor, hilltops, and the Mediterranean Sea. The beach, city center, restaurants, ferry stop, and train station are just minutes away. Our apartment is a unique place to spend mornings drinking espresso on the terrace, and evenings sipping local wine. We have written our guidebook with restaurant recommendations and things to do in Riomaggiore, the Cinque Terre, and beyond.
“Kelly & Yuri met and exceeded every one of our expectations; we could not have asked for better hosts. The apartment was cute, clean, and spacious- yet cozy. We were only there for a short period of time (see below), but were able to make ourselves feel at home there. The location is prime as it is within walking distance to everything and has spectacular views! They even provided us with a detailed book of things to see and do in the area, including their personal recommendations. Aside from the apartment and location, the best part of our experience was the extent to which Kelly and Yuri went to accommodate us. Our trip to Riomaggiore coincided with the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, so our plans were subject to change at any minute, even after we had checked in to the apartment. Kelly reached out to us a few days before we were set to arrive to let us know that they had not yet been quarantined, but would understand if we wanted to cancel anyway. We decided to go ahead with our stay as Riomaggiore was not yet considered a part of the ‘red zone’ and it seemed unlikely for things to change within the 3 days of our stay. When we arrived, Kelly was very understanding of the situation and explained to us that she would keep us updated if anything were to change; still in the midst of things, she was more than inviting to us and encouraged us to explore and enjoy as much of the city as we could during our stay. We made it through our first night and the next day without any problems. Everything changed very quickly on our second night when Italy announced (at 10pm) that the entire country was to be quarantined beginning at midnight that night. Within 3 minutes of the announcement, Kelly was in contact with us. She let us know the situation and provided us with information on train routes that would get us back to France ASAP to ensure that we could get out of the country before it went into full lock down. She told us not to worry about checking out and to just focus on getting home. 20 minutes later, we had our things packed and were on a train headed for the French border. After a couple long train rides, we made it out of the country and were able to take our next steps to getting back to America. Kelly kept in touch with us the entire time, checking to see that we were safely making it to our destinations. When we finally made it back to the states, we had the nicest email from Kelly waiting in our inbox- wishing us luck and welcoming us back when things settle down in the future. Kelly and Yuri quite literally helped us escape the country in the night- something Airbnb hosts are definitely not obligated to do. I mention all of this in my review to show just how far they went to accommodate us during our stay. They treated us like family and were a comfort during such a crazy time. I HIGHLY recommend booking with Kelly and Yuri for your trip to Riomaggiore. They will go above and beyond to be sure you are comfortable in their space and enjoy your time in the city, even if it includes fleeing the country in the middle of the night. We didn’t have much time to explore the city, but just enough to know that we will be coming back. And we will absolutely be booking this apartment for our next time around.”
Marina's House will let you live an amazing experience in the heart of Cinque Terre thanks to its wonderful location closed to the little port of Riomaggiore. The typical little terrace is just in front of the sea bringing you true sea's colours and flavours. The location is closed to restaurants of the little port and shops of the centre, as well as the docking boats and the train station.
