Farmstay vacation rentals in Rivas

This place was fantastic and we loved it. Right in the middle of the forest, surrounded by ometepe nature and wildlife. The cabin is very nice, and perfect for 4-5 people. The people working there at the restaurant and Selvista are really nice. The food is also pretty nice. A couple of things to note: You need a vehicle to get there. We had rented scooters. There are also many insects such as spiders. But then again , you are in the middle of the forest!

The setting was beautiful. Quiet at night with incredible stars as no light pollution. Make no mistake you’re in the jungle sharing space with the primary residents….birds, cane toads, and so many butterflies. Not luxurious but absolutely comfortable. Walking distance to great local restaurants and motorcycle rental. We had an awesome stay and highly recommend this rental.

What an absolutely wonderful stay. Casa la Selva was perfect for all our needs, we didn’t want for anything. The location was great, away from the “hustle and bustle” of SJDS, but restaurants and basic groceries totally accessible. Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and Colorados and Panga Drops. Lulu the cat came to visit us everyday and James was a marvelous concierge - communicative and responsive, always almost immediately. We wish we could have stayed so much longer!

Wir haben mehr als zwei Wochen in Casa Annica verbracht und können diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen. Das Apartment ist total ruhig gelegen und hat alles was man braucht. Wir waren total ungestört und haben die Natur genossen. Der Pool ist sehr schön und wird täglich gereinigt, es gibt zahlreiche Hängematten und gemütliche Schaukelstühle um sich draußen zu entspannen. Annika und Tony waren stets schnell erreichbar, hilfsbereit und haben sich um jede unserer Anfragen gekümmert. Das Schlafzimmer hat eine Klimaanlage, die wir allerdings gar nicht oft benutzt haben, da die Temperatur sehr angenehm war mit Ventilator. Die Unterkunft liegt 5 Minuten entfernt vom Strand maderas den wir persönlich am liebsten besucht haben. Die Unterkunft ist sowohl für Familien aus auch solo Traveller und Paare geeignet.

We had a really lovely stay here for 4 nights! It’s a very peaceful and serene place, the pool is lovely, having the kitchen is excellent and its very clean and well equipped. The staff were always friendly. We also loved having the pool table and darts board! Also close to the supermarket :)

This spot was a great deal for the price. The kitchen had what I needed. It’s important to remember that this place is considered a 2-star hostel/hotel. So for that reason invite it 5 stars. They have everything you need. Including motos & Atvs that you can rent directly from there. I misunderstood that & rented one from a company. I wish I got it from them to support their family though. The guard dogs do their job. They barked at me when I came back late at night after dancing. They don’t bite though. They calm down if you speak to them with authority in Spanish. The space is clean, but it’s important to clean your dishes after use so you don’t come back to ants. 🐜 The best part was the view from my bed of Volcán Conception. I loved going up to the terrace to eat my meals. There the view of Volcan Maderas is lovely as well. They were kind to let me have some water. And a late checkout. It’s excellent for the price. Especially if you will be spending the day out adventuring.

Staying at Apothefinca was a dream come true for our family. The guest house was an absolute gem, with so many little details that made our stay extra special. Lucy was very thoughtful and generous with her time, giving us a tour of the gardens and connecting us with local community to buy farm fresh eggs, sourdough bread, and more. My 5-year old daughter loved her dogs and chickens, and even got to hold some of the newly hatched chicks! I highly, highly recommend Lucy’s magical guest house to anyone who wants a nourishing and inspiring experience in Nicaragua.

We had a perfect few days here, Lesbia was very responsive to any questions we had. The whole place is private, secluded and secure. The beds are huge and very comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean, the grounds are beautiful, lots of friendly dogs which our children loved. Pictures dont really do this place justice, it's way better that it looks! Breakfast and coffee was delivered to us each morning by our host and was delicious. I highly recommend this place if you feel like getting away from it all on Ometepe Island. I would recommend your own transport; we rented a truck in Moyogalpa and was was great fun to explore the island at our own pace, lots of gravel roads but had no problems. Highlight of the stay was relaxing in the hammocks listening to the sounds of the jungle, as well as grabbing a couple of kayaks and canoeing down the lakeshore to Cabalitos Mar for a few Tonas and a freshly grilled lake fish! Highly recommended 👌🏻

The tasteful, modest but spacious casita is well designed and constructed and contains everything one could wish for. And if it didn’t, host Karla and the housekeeper Izela would go out of their ways to help. Whether it be getting in touch with local guides or lending out an extensive collection of books, or getting the hardest stains out of my clothes after hiking the Concepción volcano. I am very grateful for their warm energies and I felt home with their presence. The area of Los Angeles and the property are certainly a local experience. Because you are in fact on the countryside where the chickens and neighboring dogs will regularly come to visit. Horses, pigs and cows are walking the streets and there’s always some garbage on fire somewhere. That means you’ll have to get used to waking up with the roosters, get a fume or 2 of whatever the neighbors are burning all the time, and you can get plenty of locally grown and sourced items. The casita is not really in the neighborhood of where all the tourists go or where the attractions are, but that was exactly what I was looking for. But then Ometepe is not the biggest of islands, so with a rental which are available plentiful, you’ll get around easily. Nicaragua is a hot country and nights will not get much cooler after the sun sets. The casita therefore absorbs and radiates a lot of this heat despite having all the windows open and let the wind through at all times. Since the beds are in the attic where the heat collects, a fan wouldn’t always be sufficient to cool you down, so an airco would be a sensible investment. However, I didn’t consider it a big problem because I was living the local routines and embraced it.
