The Baltic Sea, Schwerin as well as Wismar and Rostock are about 45 km away.

Kleinzerlang is a peninsula in the immediate vicinity of the lake and surrounded by meadows, forests, hiking trails and a canal, at the northern tip of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
