Wild Dragon Escapes' latest addition, Mr Imp has had her decks scrubbed, her insides refitted and has now been dry docked in her very own field on the 22 acre private nature reserve. Mr Imp has room for two passengers and is ready to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. Fitted out with 1 double bed (incl bedding), wood stove, gas hob and grill, fire pit, showers, WC and compost loo, Mr Imp has all you need for your voyage.
Mr Imp is 2 berth 25' yacht which includes a wood stove, gas hob and grill, sink, led lighting, a double bed (NB bedding NOT provided), fire pit and compost loo. WC, shower and laundry also available nearby. Dry docked in her own field within a private 22 acre nature reserve with lakes, ponds, flower meadows, huge oaks, hammock swings and a Whomping Willow, Mr Imp's guests are invited to enjoy the peace and explore locally. Surrounded by wild land, Mr Imp is situated down a long track. There is no litter, no dog mess and no traffic. There are trees to climb, dens to make, and streams to play in. There is an indoor play space with ride on toys, a large trampoline, and a basketball hoop. There is also a massive bird box in the barn, but that is for the owls! As you adventure round the land you can spot the other owl boxes and will also hear the owls almost every night. Due to some hazardous drops Mr Imp may not be suitable for very young children. The nature reserve is not a tidy place, what is mess to adults can be prime real estate for wild animals or fun stuff for kids. In our long career as parents and foster carers we have found that children (and adults) tend to be happiest when they can make dens and play in the wild. Our aim in setting up this holiday business was to create an environment that gave native wild animals and children some much needed breathing space. We aim to keep the nature reserve free of harmful chemicals and we provide eco friendly shampoos and soap for our guests. Even the water here is chlorine and fluoride free as it is from our own spring. We believe we are creating a children's wonderland and it's pretty wonderful for adults too! If all this clean living is too much you can escape to the excellent village pub which is an easy walk away! Nearby Llandeilo is a beautiful market town with great cafes, pubs and bars, antique and craft shops. Other local attractions include Newton House, Dinefwr Castle, Carreg Cennen Castle, Aberglasney House and Gardens and The National Botanic Garden of Wales. There is fabulous walking and mountain biking in the Brechfa Forest and, the beautiful beaches of The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion are just an hour away.
  • A wonderful find. The nature reserve is magical to explore and it’s all v practical too with everything you need. Mr Imp has its own field with a hammock and swing at the bottom. And I never knew a compost loo could be so nice!

  • Great people, great place. Highly recommended.

  • Wild dragon escapes is the most amazing place. We have had a wonderful stay aboard Mr Imp and are looking forward to visiting again soon. We are a family of 4 and found we had enough room. The reserve is an incredible place to make memories. Our children loved the nature package and can't wait to visit our family tree soon. If you are on the fence about visiting, just do it. You won't regret it. The whole team at wild dragon are welcoming and friendly but we also felt we had the privacy to enjoy our holiday our way.

  • What a great holiday and experience. We were concerned that the space might be too tight for 2 adults, and 2 fully grown children, but it wasn't. You would have less room in a tent, and this was much more fun and quirky. Such a different experience staying in a boat on a field. Location was amazing, privacy was amazing and everything we needed was to hand. Couldn't ask for anymore. And our hosts were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and were okay. What a fantastic trip, enjoyed by us all. Thank you for providing an experience we needed, enjoyed and will remember.

  • What a amazing and magical place to go and stay, the ship itself was incredible charming and the land around make me feel like a was a nature reserve.

    Dylan2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time staying in the boat. Cliff and Sheilas place is so beautiful and tranquil it was great to relax here. Will definitely be back for more!

  • Well there are very few places that feel as magical as this. In the middle of the beautiful welsh country side you’ll find a cozy boat, Mr Imp, to rest your head. And even while you walk around the lovely walking trails you’ll see a double decker bus and even a massive shoe! It’s a place made for fairytales. I absolutely loved getting away from the world for a bit and really taking in the fun nature of the place. You’ll find ponds, sitting trees... it truly felt like you would discover something new at every turn. Nearby I was also able to visit the local Castle and the town of Llandeilo has lots of fancy shops and restaurants. I highly recommend Mr. Imp for a cozy and fun experience. Sleeping in a boat, on land, is definitely a unique experience that I will surely remember for a lifetime.

  • Helen's place is a little gem. I booked this for my daughters birthday to switch off and enjoy some time together. The hut has everything you need, and the log burner makes it very cosy indeed. The welshcakes, fresh eggs and BBQ pack were great. The books and games kept us entertained for hours. The hot shower was a real treat. We hope to visit Helen and her family again, not forgetting all of the friendly animals too.

  • Wow what a place. We’ve had such a restful stay. Due to a storm we arrived later than planned so Helen lit the fire and a candle, and put hot water bottles in the bed for us. Such lovely thoughtful touches. The cabin is super cosy, has everything you need, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The home made welsh cakes on arrival were lovely, and coupled with the amazing welcome we received made the stay awesome. I would definitely stay again. We went for dinner locally to the Angel and that was lovely. But just being able to switch off, and enjoy the tranquility was a wonderful but very rare treat. Thank you so much Helen.

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Andrew and Tai's. They've put a lot of thought into the facilities and amenities to make this an exceptional and easy glamping experience, especially for those new to it - fire pit was pre-laid for us to just simply light when evening came, provided with milk and water in a coolbox that stayed cool for the duration of our visit. Was made to feel comfortable and welcome upon arrival. Great hosts, great location, great amenities, already planning a return trip.

Lan chalet sits on part of our 13 acre smallholding with it's own access off a country lane to a gravel parking area, large garden and raised decked area where you can see our two alpacas and take in the view. Lan Chalet is situated in Broad Oak just 3 miles from the picturesque town of Llandeilo where you will find an abundance of award winning pubs, unique shops, and bistro cafes. Just on the edge of Llandeilo is Dinefwr Castle and Newton House which is a great day out for all the family.
The Chalet has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, the great thing about this space is the two large bay windows where you can sit and watch our alpacas and pet sheep whilst taking in all the views. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Off the hall are three bedrooms each sleeping 2 people, two with double beds and one with two single beds. There are also two bathrooms one with a shower and one with a bath. On the side of the Chalet is a porch room with a washing machine and plenty of room for your muddy boots after your walks. Outside there are flat and sloped grassed areas leading down to the alpacas field where our very friendly pet sheep will often come up to the fence for a stroke. There is also a raised decked area with table and chairs for 6 people so you can sit outside and enjoying the view and relax whilst the kids and dogs can run around and play.
There are plenty of dog friendly beaches as you head towards the coast. Our favourite being Pembrey country park and beach which is a 40 minute drive and boasts 8 miles of golden sandy beach and 500 acres of woodland to explore, perfect for cycling. Within the country park there is a dry ski slope, toboggan ride, crazy golf, minture train rides and adventure play area. If you are looking for a more relaxed day Aberglasney Gardens is just a 7 minute drive away which is one of Wales' finest gardens. The national botanical Gardens of Wales is a 20 minute drive away and offers dog friendly days every Monday and 1 weekend a month (check their site for more info and dates). National trust dolacothi gold mines is a 30 minute drive away, great for dogs with lots of walks and kids will love it there exploring the old gold mines. Carreg Cennan Castle is a 20 minute drive and a great place to visit if you want to venture onto the Brecon Beacons. For those of you who like mountain biking or are looking for a great dog walk Brechfa Forest is a 30 minute drive and offers lots of mountain biking trails and walking routes.

Longbarn Cottage One is a barn conversion with exposed beams on our smallholding. In a quiet location in the Carmarthenshire countryside. It is one of two cottages converted from our former stables. The other cottage, Longbarn Dairy End, is also available on Airbnb, it sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom. Please note we charge one price all year, with no extra charges for cleaning or heating.
A great place for a relaxing break away from it all. We are about 40 minutes from the Breacon Beacons National Park. The nearest seaside places are the colourful harbour town Aberaeron, Newquay famed for its dolphins and Aberystwyth. The market town of Carmarthen is about one hour away. Lampeter, Llandelio and Llandovery are the nearest towns. Pumsaint village has a pub and a goldmine both open to visiters! Lots of nice walks and biking with in easy distance. Birdwatch from the balcony while enjoying the peace and quiet. Usual farmyard noises, sheep, tractors etc to be expected!
The cottage is surrounded by open countryside. The fields are usually home to sheep, and lambs in season. They wander onto and sometimes sleep on the track so you will need to be aware of them when using the track. If you like bird watching there are plenty to see from red kites to robins! Bring your binos. We also have lots of wildflowers, spring is the best hundreds of primroses and bluebells. Lots of daffodils too! Not wild flowers I know but from mid March onwards Wales is daff heaven! Star watching is recommended. On a clear night, turn off the lights and sit on the balcony to enjoy the night sky. Put the Night Sky ap on your phone or tablet to help you identify the stars and planets. We live across the farmyard from the cottage, our nearest neighbours are half a mile away down the track. Lots of guests have asked us where they can eat around here the nearest places are:- Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint SA19 8UW Brunant Arms, Caio SA19 8RD Tafarn Jem, SA48 8HF on the A482 towards Lampeter.

  • Lovely get away in peaceful quiet rural location -, with thoughtful touches top make your stay fun and special

    Jo2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian's place is a clean, warm and comfortable converted barn. It is across the yard from their home on their farm, up a rough farm track. There is a huge bathroom, comfy bed and everything you need to cook a meal from scratch. A beautiful quiet place, but you will need to use a car to get to the shops.

    Hannie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this sensational barn! It really does have the wow factor!!!! The character and elegance really does deserve a 10 star rating and the host was more than amazing with the special touches and overly accurate customer service as such!!!! Huge appreciation.

  • Lovely stay at Louises place! Cosy log fire, friendly pub over the road with good food.

    Alice2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully kept home in a peaceful location. The house itself is very homely and comfortable and being across the road from a pub serving great food is a bonus! The towels and furnishings were all excellent and made it feel just like home. Louise had kindly left us some milk, tea and coffee etc for a welcoming cuppa which was a nice touch. The location made it easy for us to explore in all directions, and there are plenty of places to visit/walk. Communication was excellent and we would definitely recommend this as a relaxing place to stay!

    Liz2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fab little cottage for our first stay in wales. All the kit you need for a few nights away. Little garden was an added bonus. Louise also left thoughtful gift for our son.

    Becky2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful cottage full of everything that you need. Louise was very helpful and was easy to communicate with. Cottage is perfectly situated so that you can explore many interesting places.

    Aaron2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Teazle Cottage enough. It's a beautiful location in the heart of rural Wales. There are plenty of local sites and activities including Carreg Cennin Castle, Mountain bike trails, Dolaucothi Goldmines, Pony Trekking and beaches like Llansteffan. The cottage is spotless and has all the mod cons including sky tv, nicely finished bathroom with a cozy little garden . Louise and Geraint were perfect hosts, they were kind and helped us every step of the way with a good response time. There's a great mountain bike trail in cwm Rhaeadr which isn't far away and there's a fantastic waterfall which was one of the highlights for me. The cottage has a shed where you can put bikes and there's free parking in the village hall. Also its not that difficult to get out to pembrokshire if you drive into Carmarthen and take the dual carriageway. There's some fantastic beaches in Pembrokeshire. If you like rural life Llansawel is a good example of a Welsh country village with two pubs a church and a beautiful chapel on the hill. Its not far to Llandeilo or Lampeter where you have shops and other amenities. There is a bottle bank for recycling in the village but my only criticism is the council doesn't seem to encourage other recycling. Anyway that's a separate issue Teazle Cottage is the perfect rural getaway.

    Ceri2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Small cottage well located compared to visits to the area. A typical pub, and I recommend the market that takes place once a month, if you want to make beautiful meetings.

    Sylvie2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay we very much loved teazle cottage and the location. I would recommend having a meal opposite in the black lion hotel, the food was excellent and the hospitality.

The Coach House is a charming cosy cottage situated well off the beaten track amongst the beautiful Carmarthanshire countryside & bluebell woods. Situated on the owners' smallholding; you are welcome to wander in the fields and woodland to meet our extended family of pet sheep, alpacas & goats plus 2 friendly horses and a donkey. In the garden are assorted hens & ducks to help wake you up in the morning & help to keep you entertained! Come and enjoy picnics & stunning sunsets in complete seclusion in any of the fields. Some of our recent lovely guests shared pictures on Instagram too! https://www.instagram.com/izogadventure/
The Coach House is a peaceful cosy retreat. It has been lovingly converted from a former outbuilding and has much charm and character. Consisting of one beautiful open plan space with cosy living area with large antique wood burner (that can be opened to give the experience of an open fire), there is oil fired central heating but we would advise bringing slippers if booking in the winter months, Wi-Fi (nb. signal can be intermittent especially in bad weather!), TV (freeview over 100 channels), DVD player & CD/radio (with Bluetooth connection for playing music from any of your own devices). There is a beautiful bedroom on the mezzanine level as well as a fully equiped kitchen and bathroom. The private covered outside area is perfect for enjoying the peace of the countryside with a drink and a bbq. The dark skies at night are perfect for stargazing. There is a beautiful view from the owner's garden which you can enjoy from the bench (pictured) just below the Coach House and also from the stunning circular feature window in the bedroom. The Coach House is perfectly suited as a romantic retreat for couples but can also be enjoyed by families due to the sofa bed in the living area. A cot and high chair can be provided on request; although care should be taken with small children due to the cottage layout with 2 sets of stairs and the sitting area is not enclosed. Initial supply of logs included and additional wood can be provided for a small charge.
The Coach House is situated just a few minutes from the beautiful village of Talley with it's stunning lakes, fascinating historic Abbey and plentiful woodland walks. There are some village pubs in nearby Cwmdu and Llansawell and the historic town of Llandeilo is approx. 7 miles away. Here you will find all amenities; Co op supermarket, local butchers & bakery as well as plentiful pubs, takeaways, cafes & restaurants including the famous Gin House, The Cawdor & Chocolate Emporium. Here in Llandeilo you also have the fantastic National Trust Dinefwr; stunning parkland with historic house and castle. Talley is situated within 30 mins drive to the market towns of Llandovery, Carmarthan & Lampeter; all of which have their unique history charm as well as modern shopping facilities and cinema, swimming pools etc. Close by you will find other National Trust treats such as the famous Goldmines. The fantastic Brecha forest, Black Mountains and stunning Pembrokeshire beaches such as Pendine Sands, the Cardigan bay coastal beaches such as New Quay & Aberaron as well as the Gower are all within an hour's drive. Nearest beach is Llansteffan, only 45 mins drive.
  • Claire and Shaun’s little haven is absolutely dreamy. The views are idyllic, the space is peaceful and private and the animals are such a joy. Claire and Shaun are wonderful people with a wonderful ethos. The couch house was a lovely space, with everything you could need! Thanks for everything! 💜

    Rachel2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve just returned from a few days away at The Coach House and are already planning when we can return! Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts, we felt so welcomed and it’s obvious how much they care about their guests’ experience. A perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We loved all of the animals, and especially appreciated the opportunity to feed them! They all have their own characters and it was lovely to hear the stories of where they came from, and to see how much Claire and Shaun care for all of them. The Coach House itself is cosy, super clean and a relaxing space to stay in. It has everything you’d need and more! If you’re thinking about staying here then just book it, you won’t regret it!

    Simon2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you want cosy, secluded, relaxing, clean, beautiful, close to nature, quiet, calm, characterful, off the beaten track...the list goes on, then Shaun and Claire’s Coach House is the perfect getaway. From the gorgeous building itself, to the warming wood stove, the cute animals to the stunning views, the friendly hosts to the characterful coach house, this place was a beaut! We will be coming back in the summer!

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Claire and Shaun's Coach House and it was just as perfect as the first time. It's such a cosy space and the rural location is so tranquil. The Coach House has everything you need for your stay and is so well looked after. We absolutely love it here and hope to return soon!

    Gemma2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed! The Coach House is an immaculately converted home with high ceilings and comfy furniture. We loved the opportunity to feed the animals and enjoyed opening the curtains in the mornings to see the faces of inquisitive geese and ducks peeking back at us. Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts. We were only away for a day and a half but we feel as though we have had a week’s holiday. We’ll be back 😁

    Rebecca2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire and Shaun are the most spectacular hosts going above and beyond to cater for their guests. Prosecco and welsh cakes on arrival is always a treat! Stunning home, with breath taking surroundings. Happy to make this our annual get away when visiting family and would recommend a million times over to anyone to stay here. Thank-you again for a wonderful experience, we look forward to seeing you again very soon x

  • We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The coach house was beautiful - spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we would need for a comfortable stay. However the thing that really made this weekend break amazing was the atmosphere and the hosting. Shaun and Claire are the perfect hosts. From showing us around the fields and introducing us to all their beautiful, gentle animals, to providing extra board games for the children. They absolutely respected and ensured our privacy but were always on hand for a chat or if we needed anything. We felt completely relaxed, welcome and at home. We couldn't recommend the coach house more, and we are already planning our next stay with them very soon!

Large room in lovely stone cottage nestled in the hills of Llanwrda, 1 mile from Dolaucothi Gold Mines. Only 15 minute drive to Lampeter and 40 mins drive to the beautiful beaches of Cardigan. The room has two bunk beds, so can accommodate up to four people at one time with shared bathroom, shared kitchen and shared living room with TV. This is not a dorm, once booked extra people will not be added. Plenty of parking space.
There are stunning views to look at from the house, and an impressive viewing platform to do just that, on a clear day you will see the Black mountains and the Brecon Beacons in the distance. There are fields, woodlands, lakes, you are lightly to see sheep, cows, hares, herons, hunting birds patrolling the sky and you are lightly to hear owls at night.
The house is on a quiet lane, in the middle of the country away from noise and traffic with stunning views, there are walks by lakes, rivers, woodland, or hill top walks (bring some good boots), also there is fishing (Spring Water Lakes, and Cothi river near by). Lampeter is only a 15 minute drive, with places to eat, walks by the river Teifi, shops, super market, leisure centre, gardening centre and a university to visit.
  • We had a good time at Richard's place. It's location is fantastic, if you want to have some relaxing time in solitude and silence with a fantastic view on the valley, it is definitely a place to stay. Richard is a nice person, easy to talk to but giving you your privacy, and our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time in such a beautiful and peaceful environment.

    Gergely2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, a magical garden with beautiful far reaching views. Richard is a quiet, friendly host who made us feel very welcome in his home, and was very generous sharing the use of his kitchen.

    Jess2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden gem! If you are looking for a holiday where the only traffic you will see is the sheep crossing the fields, then this is the place for you. The view is simply amazing. The garden is bigger than I expected. The room with two clean bunkbeds and two comfy armchairs plus a log brunner is enough for a family. We ate in the tranquilly garden at one of the picnic tables but there is also a dining area. The shower is perfect, no tube. Kitchen is basic (vegetarian) but you can use everything included fridge. Richard is a very patient and flexible host. Despite just a few kilometres from next village this cottage on a hilltop is in the middle of nowhere. We all loved his property.

    Kata2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Richard is an amazingly friendly and helpful host, the location of this house is spectacular and it was so calm and peaceful; just what I was looking for. A paradise for nature lovers!

    Sabine2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly remote spot where you hear not a noise apart from sheep bleating

    Stefan2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Richard is a great host . We felt like we are at home. The beds was very comfortable and clean. The view is just amazing. Thanks Richard,we had a lovely weekend.

  • Richard was very welcoming, he gave us good instructions to find his house, the views and tranquility of his home were wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. Thanks so much for having us stay. We visiting the local Goldmines and some beautiful beaches in our two night stay. The children loved the trampoline and the animals.

    Julia2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • I found Richard to be a very pleasant and accommodating host, very helpful and easy to communicate with. The house is lovely and the bedroom and the kitchen are very spacious, the grounds/ gardens are beautiful and a great setting for any kind of retreat, a perfect place to stay for those who want to rest, take stock and re energise themselves, but also a wonderful place for exploring the local countryside. I enjoyed a few good walks during my stay. I hope to return next time I am visiting the area.

  • Meet the extra mile hosts! I think I run out of "feedback stars". They are the most welcome and generous hosts I have never met. Nothing is too much for them, they will look into all your needs to make sure you have a extraordinary and enjoyable stay at their place. This also included travelling with my house cat and making sure my cat was also comfortable and happy. Their place is allocated in a very beautiful natural setting yet, not too far from other towns to do any shopping or enjoy a coffe. It is a good place for exploring the West of Wales or choosing to stay and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of their location. Their property is very special shared with other beautiful and friendly 3 cats and few gentle and loving chickens. The house is lovely, modern and very tasfully decorated. It is also kept very tidy and clean with an eco friendly mind set. As well as your room, you have the sun room with the lovely views to their garden and amusing chickens if you feel you would like to relax having a cuppa by yourself. The Blue Room with beautiful views indeed, offered more that what I expected. Very spacious and very beautifully decorated. It has a TV and the bed is super comfortable

Comfortable and spacious heritage cottage (3 bedrooms - double, twin and single) in own grounds on banks of the River Cothi on edge of Brecon Beacons in Wales. Pretty location. Part of the centuries old Edwinsford Estate. Good for the soul and ideal for walking, fishing, cycling or simply chill out holidays. Fully equipped.
The Dairy House offers a unique experience - modern amenities in an historic setting. The house is ideally situated for touring throughout Wales or, if you prefer, for simply staying put and chilling out. Truly stress busting !
  • We were on the hunt for a quiet place to unwind and relax over the new year period and the Dairy House exceeded our expectations! The house is spacious, clean, surrounded by beauty and packed with history. Robert was a fantastic host and showed us around when we arrived, which was a great touch and very much appreciated (as were the tray of treats!). We have returned feeling genuinely relaxed and our dog seemed very disappointed when he realised we weren’t staying forever! I’d be very happy to come back again - thanks for having us.

  • The Dairy House is a delightful place to stay. The house is spacious and characterful and set in a charming rural location with the River Cothi running through its grounds. It is the ideal place to have a relaxing holiday.

  • This is a treasure!! Stunning location, fantastically equipped, brilliant garden with access to the beautiful River Cothi with Little Grebes, Dippers and Kingfishers. Wonderful accommodation and extremely responsive host. All added up to a brilliant holiday with some of the best local food both at home and in the pubs and restaurants of the area.

    Simon2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Dairy house is like a little paradise for those who seek for some rest and a dive in Welsh nature and culture. Internet not available all the time made our kids aware that's something you can do without or makes you do other things. The house is very well equipped, complete and has a wonderful spacious garden. A special place!

  • This is a delightful house. We enjoyed the peaceful river (skimming stones, paddling, birdwatching) and the lovely garden. The house is comfy and has lots of space - it feels homely and we enjoyed incredible castles, walks and a fascinating NT gold mine nearby. We took our ow blow up canoe and enjoyed the river. We are a family of 5 inc 3 boys aged 16, 13 and 11. We all thoroughly recommend this house. Thank you Robert.

  • Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at Serenity Lodge. The weather wasn't on our side but we came well prepared. The drive and walk to the lodge was very bumpy and slippy but the host was very helpful in getting us there with our bags just make sure you bring your wellies! The lodge itself was very clean and nicely decorated. It was very cosy and had everything we needed to cook and eat. There was a small basket of goodies waiting for us including marshmallows to toast and Welsh cakes, yum! The bed was incredibly warm and comfy! The toilet is located just behind the lodge but it's nicely decorated and very clean so that didn't cause any problems. Carly was a great host and we really enjoyed our stay, especially listening to the stream at night, very relaxing! We plan on returning when the sun is shining so we can use the firepit!

    Martha2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Carly have evidently put so much work into making this place look and feel like the perfect little getaway. We had a great time cooking marshmallows on the fire and exploring the area. So peaceful!

A beautiful yurt nestled in a 2 acre field on our family farm, off the beaten track in the beautiful county of Carmarthenshire, West Wales. With 2000 acres of Llanllwni mountain to explore on your doorstep plus tonnes of local sights and activities. This Yurt is ideal for couples or individuals looking for a peaceful, comfortable and cosy getaway.
As a family, we at Blanca Trekking take great pleasure in enabling others to share what we are so privileged to enjoy on a daily basis. We would no way call this glamping but do take pride in providing a unique, simple yet comfortable accommodation to which our guests return time and time again. Our 'Cosy Cwtsh' Yurt sleeps 2. We had this little yurt hand made locally, with couples or individual adult guests in mind. With a comfortable king size mattress, carpet under foot and beautiful floor cushions, mats, blankets etc. Heated by a very efficient woodburner (logs provided). Lit by candles, lanterns and soft solar lighting; the night times listening to the fire roar whilst surrounded by beautiful, warm light is something special. The Yurt has its own separate kitchen equipped with everything you need, which includes a gas hob, a cool box, pots, pans, utensils etc. Water is brought up from the farm in containers. There is also space here to hang wet clothes, wellies etc. There is also a BBQ for you to use (charcoal not provided). Compost toilets are situated close enough for a midnight wander. On the farmyard, which is 2 fields away, you also have access to a shared kitchen and bathroom area. This kitchen is equipped with a sink, electric oven (and hobs), fridge, washing machine and plenty of utensils for you to use. There are also some plug sockets here for charging devices! The bathroom has (limited) hot water, with bathing facilities and a flushing toilet. (no shower)
Blanca Trekking is set in stunning countryside and yet lucky enough to be within easy reach of all areas of West Wales including beaches, castles, villages and market towns in which there are a variety of amenities and activities to explore and enjoy.
  • We saw stars through the yurt skylight. We were woken in the night by the loud T,woos of the male Tawney owls and the quieter female response T,wit in the trees nearby. The views were great. Location superb. There is gold in the ground and streams from the quartz veins all around. The kitchen utensils were so complete that we could have made as big a feast as the 2 burner gas stove and grill would have allowed. There is no WiFi or mains electricity that makes this a real get away luxury. You can choose bottled water or spring water. Incense in the yurt is included. There is a kitchen and bathroom with hot water and mains electricity in the hosts’ farm across two fields, if you need to find solace in the main stream. The horses are so well cared for that trekking would be a pleasure. The long lane and ford to the farm are very well maintained. There are nearby walks, pubs with food in all directions, Carmarthen with shopping centres and a Roman amphitheatre and the Welsh National Botanic gardens in less than 30 mins distance by car. We were there over Christmas which requires some winter camping skills, though our hosts, who stayed in the background, were always there for us and instantly met our needs when required. Dylan Thomas’s “A Visit to Grandpas” describes the bridge at Carmarthen and the estuary seaward from there.

  • Great stay, very cosy. Stayed in October, the fire in the Yurt kept us warm. There isn’t a shower, however there is a bath in the farm house and that does have a shower head connected to the taps which was useful. The shed next to the yurt has your basic cooking stuff with a little portable camping style cooker which was a nice touch. There is a oven and fridge in the main farm house. If you’re staying in the winter, take some torches as it was very dark in the shed, but with the candles and fairy lights in the yurt was very nice and cosy. Would recommend a visit here. Ruth the host had the fire on for us when we arrived which was nice. Have fun when you book.

Quiet and comfortable first floor accomodation with views overlooking the river and the Edwinsford ruin.
Rural setting with Cothi river views with pheasants a plenty and neighbouring geese along the river bank.

  • Clare’s place was fantastic. She was an extremely welcoming host, and left lots of little bits and bobs in the apartment that didn’t leave us wanting for anything. Thanks so much for your hospitality, we’d love the come back again if we’re in the region!

  • Amazing place! Loads of room, incredible location, great communication! The location is phenomenal, can’t recommend enough.

  • This place is just perfect, so quiet.... so clean literally everything you could ever need and Clare is the perfect host with lots of thoughtful touches. You won’t be disappointed

  • Very comfortable and spacious property in beautiful surroundings in the remote Cothi valley. Cottage is very well equipped with everything you will need for a great relaxing break. Red Kite feeding centre at Llanddeusant is well worth a visit (take Brynamman road south from Llangadog). Chocolate Emporium in Llandeilo is also recommended.

    David2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay near rushing river and the ruins of Edwinford, in easy striking distance of Llandeilo's great cafes and amenities, and destinations like the botanic garden. Very comfy and well-presented space and Clare made us feel very welcome. Hope to return one day...

The Retreat is exactly that, a lovingly up-cycled, eco static caravan with the most stunning view, perched on the edge of the Teifi valley and surrounded by farmland. We welcome you to come and take a break away from the busy day to day of life and kick back with your favourite drink on the deck and soak up the view in the day and the stars at night.
We welcome you to our little Welsh bubble tucked away at the bottom of a track. Originally a working farm, it was neglected for some years and it is now our accommodation project which we are lovingly restoring with every available minute and penny! We are surrounded by working farms with no close neighbours so you can really get away from it all here in this tranquil spot. Recently rescued and up-cycled the Retreat is a quirky static caravan. It is our first eco project with solar power, a composting loo and a wood burner for heat and has a 60's/ 70's feel, large deck and stunning view. Nestled away in our 10 acres of land but still easily accessible (about 10m from our track) it has all you need for a comfortable stay in a beautiful setting. Ideal for couples or a small family, the main bedroom has a comfy double bed, the 2nd bedroom has two small single beds (a travel cot and highchair are available on request). There is a bathroom with bath/shower and compost toilet, a light and airy lounge with woodburning stove and DVD player. Lastly a well stocked kitchen with a gas oven and hob and a cool box for refrigeration. We also provide these essentials tea, coffee, 1pt milk, crumpets and our own eggs (when available). Perfect for nature lovers and people who enjoy staying in quirky places you are free to explore our wilderness and discover secret resting places in which to relax and unwind. Read a good book next to the bubbling stream, swing in a hammock or kick back on the deck whilst taking in the view across the valley and spot our wide range of resident wildlife from hedgehogs to buzzards and tawny owls.
Llanwenog is a small hamlet with a 13th Century church which is the most complete medieval church in Ceredigion. The Retreat is an excellent base to explore the many local attractions as well as providing a secluded oasis in which to hibernate. We are surrounded by farmland and beautiful views across the Teifi Valley, yet only 30 mins drive away from a selection of stunning beaches which cater for all needs from dolphin and seal spotting to rock pools and sand. There are many activities on offer too for all ages from walking, fishing and cycling to castles, farm experiences and theme parks!
  • Great little caravan! If you're after a little peace and quiet in rural wales then this is the perfect base! A tad chilly in the bedrooms at night as we did decide to brave it in march, but Helen and Steve provided a hot water bottle which was great! But the log burner in the living room soon warmed us up and was fantastic :)

    Charlotte2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cabin set in a superb rural area, we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the cosy fire. Unfortunately the weather was not so great and we couldn't spend so much time outside and fully enjoy the space. Would definitely return during the summer.

    Oana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in a beautiful area. We had an amazing stay.

    Hayley2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The retreat is a magical place. The view is amazing and one of the best sun rises I have seen. Helen was very friendly and welcoming and we had everything we needed. The bedroom does get quite cold in winter but the thick duvet and hot water bottles kept us warm enough at night, and with the fire lit in the sitting room it was very cosy.

    Gemma2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay in the countryside, Great place with great grounds to explore. Excellent as a base to explore the surrounding area. Helen was very friendly and welcoming. The 4 of us had a great weekend away!

    Thomas2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and cozy place! Stunning views from the porch with a nice patch of grass for our 14 month old to roam around. About 30 minutes from beaches and we really enjoyed walking on the Ceredigion Coast Path.

    Matt2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • A real eco retreat from it all with stunning scenery, lovely hosts.

    Pauline2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the property are even nicer than I expected and it felt like we were away from it all without being too secluded. The hosts were really friendly and responded quickly when we requested more ice for the cool box etc. The double bed was comfortable and we all slept well. The gas oven was easy to use, as was the wood burner, and there were enough utensils, pots, pans to cook a variety of meals. We had takeaway from Romino’s (cash only) one evening however which was really tasty and good value (it’s just a few mins drive away near the Nisa and Londis). It was nice to have a private gated area around the property which enabled our dog and children to have a wander/play safely. We had a walk across the field to the hammocks and stream one evening and again the views are great. We also visited a dog friendly beach at Llangrannog SA44 6SN which was small but beautiful. We all felt well rested and relaxed after our visit and we would return.

Spacious and comfortable, the cottage is a converted barn with a wood burning stove. Located up a rural lane with stunning views to the Black Mountain and the western edge of the Brecon Beacons. Three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin bedded. Very quiet, but only two miles from the A40 and 7.5 miles from Carmarthen. Please note that the per night rate quoted is for up to 2 guests, there is an extra charge for each further guest. You will see the total per night cost when you enter your number of guests.
This cottage is rurally located and full of charm it overlooks a marshy sheep meadow. (Waun-yr-Ewig is Welsh for "The marshy meadow of the female deer") There are fantastic views and you can enjoy quiet countryside walks. There is a large lounge with a vaulted ceiling, a bathroom with bath / shower and toilet, and a second toilet in the utility room. A breakfast / dining area is located in the sun room, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a utility room with washer and dryer. The cottage is family friendly and we have a cot, a crib, a stair guard and fire guard available. We are happy to provide toys for todlers and have those available on request. The garden is safe for children and we provide table and chairs for your use.
The cottage is located in a very rural area, up an unnamed road from the A40 at Pontargothi. Carmarthen is 7.5 miles West and Llandeilo 7 miles East on the A40 from Pontargothi. The village of Nantgaredig is on the way to Carmarthen and has the Railway Hotel in Station Road, which is great for Sunday lunch and evening meals. In Pontargothi itself is The Salutation, a great pub for food and the local Felinfoel ales, especially the famous Double Dragon on draught. A couple of miles the other side of the Tywi River, on the way to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales is Y Polyn, a very well regarded gastro pub, again great for a Sunday lunch. Carmarthen is the oldest town in Wales, and has a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and entertainment including a Vue multiplex cinema and a theatre. All the multiples are represented, there is a Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl etc.
  • Great location for a quiet break away but also close enough to plenty of towns etc.

    David2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my colleague both really enjoyed our stay! Ideal commute to the hospital! We liked it so much we booked another 3 weeks! Very hospitable and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

  • We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. Stayed during a storm and it was the perfect place to relax in the bad weather! Fire was lit when we arrived and a new basket of wood was given to see us through the weekend the following day. Great communication with the hosts who couldn’t do enough for you, I would definitely recommend and we look forward to returning soon!

    Kate2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jeannette and Steve's place. They were great at explaining the location. They live next door and showed us around when we arrived, but otherwise were unobtrusive. The space was lovely for the two of us but would have been great for 5 or 6 people too. The main central lounge space was spacious yet cosy, and the wood burning stove was fabulous.

    Sam2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay whilst attending a wedding in Carmarthen, hosts went out of there way to be helpful

    David2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stylish place with plenty of room and plenty of amenities for our short stay. Used this place for a base as we was having our first child in glangwilli so didn't get a chance to see much of the local area but we did manage a meal on the first night in y polin which was 7 minutes away and definitely worth a visit. Stephen greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. Lovely peaceful setting.

    James2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation. Clean and spacious. Suited us for our short stay would recommend

    Angela2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodation with every thing you would possibly need for a warm and comfortable stay. Wonderful hosts, very helpful and very quick to respond to requests. The cottage is very quiet and rural but not to far from the town of Carmarthen with all of its amenities. Dog friendly too. We would definitely book here again if in the area.

  • Beautiful place, warm and welcoming. Sonia and Tim are really friendly and showed us around the property. I highly recommend to stay in their farmhouse.

    David2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with lots of character and a gorgeous wood burner, really friendly and laid back hosts. Such a great find, would certainly come back again.

    Zoe2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A special house. Warm and homely and just up the road from gorgeous Llandeilo. We really appreciated the logs and extra time today when Storm Dennis was doing his worst.

    Elisabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • After a lovely scenic drive Sonia and Tim greeted the family as we arrived. After the quick introduction we were walked around the grounds surrounding the property, which was perfect for the dog, and then through the house itself. Sonia had freshly baked and acquired some local delicacies which were left in a hamper in the kitchen, safe to say they didn’t last the day. If you’re looking to sit and disconnect for a few days there is a log fire in the front room or a conservatory surrounded by the garden which you could literally sit in all day watching the world go by. Sonia and Tim were amazing hosts as they were there if you needed anything at all, but if you didn’t, then you were left to your own devices to soak up all Glanddu had to offer.

    Thomas2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sonia and Tim's place. It's a lovely old property set in beautiful gardens with surrounding grounds perfect for dog walking or for children to run freely in. It's a lovely setting with gorgeous countryside views and also only 3 miles for Llandeilo so an easy drive or taxi ride to all that this delightful market town has to offer. The house is large and plenty of space for us four ladies who were enjoying a night away together. Sonia left some welcome provisions including freshly laid eggs from Margaret the resident chicken. We particularly liked the log burner in the lounge. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Carmarthen countryside.

You’ll love our cosy family cottage with its underfloor heating and large wooded garden set in the peaceful hamlet of Cwmbyr. Ideal for a romantic break for two or take the kids (2x2'6'' beds). Recently restored Glandwr is close to the Brecon Beacons near Llandeilo with its excellent shops, restaurants and takeaways. The lively Community Village shop/pub is 1.5 miles up the lane. Relax watching the wildlife from the cottage, or one of the seating areas in the garden and listening to the stream.
Glandwr has been completely rebuilt and modernised over the last couple of years but in a way that retains the character of a mid 19th century workman's cottage. The cosy family cottage comprises a sizeable double bedroom on the ground floor together with a modern fitted kitchen and shower room. The all new upper floor has a twin bedroom with 2 x 2'6" beds and a light and spacious lounge with patio doors overlooking the extensive garden. There is a spiral staircase between the two floors. The cottage has the benefit of underfloor heating on both floors which, combined with the latest exterior wall insulation, provides a constant ambient temperature all year round. As we regularly use the cottage ourselves the beds and chairs are comfy and you are welcome to use the games, books and DVDs etc. There is a larder with all the basic condiments, jams, tea, coffee etc. which you are welcome to use so long as you leave some for us when we next visit! Glandwr cottage is set in the beautiful Welsh countryside. There are pubs and restaurants in the local towns and villages, and family-friendly activities. The Dolcauthi gold mine is nearby and the Red Kite feeding station is within easy travelling distance. You will love the independent shops at Lampeter, Llandeilo and Llandovery. All 10-25mins drive. Carmarthen, with its mix of independent shops and major retailers is just over 30 minutes drive away. The Cwmdu Community Village Shop/pub, staffed mostly by volunteers, is just a mile and a half away up the lane. You can also get an excellent meal there on a Saturday evening (booking recommended). Glandwr has been recently awarded a 4 Star Rating by Visit Wales. **** Please note that there is no landline or wifi and mobile phone reception is intermittent. For more information and pictures go to: glandwrcottage co uk
Talley and its surrounding area is very friendly and welcoming. You will find a warm reception in all the local shops and pubs. Welsh is spoken in most shops and out on the street, many people think it is 'put on' when tourists arrive. This is definitely not the case as many Welsh children in Carmarthenshire do not learn English until they start school. Many local schools teach all the lessons in Welsh and English as a 2nd language. It is a very difficult language to learn, we can only manage a few words, but all adults speak English and you will not be expected to try!
  • Alison is a really thoughtful host. Her cottage is perfect, cosy and well-stocked. The garden was an unexpected joy. It was quite unexpected too, to discover what a child friendly cottage this is. My grandchildren were delighted to find the summerhouse, the swing and the fairy house. Cleverly, Alison has created a very grown up space and these delights are nicely hidden away.

    Jane2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fan bloomin tastic. The place is a gem, super clean, lovely setting and a beautiful house. What makes this place extra special is the effort that Alison and Co have me put in to make it a home from home. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • Glandwr is such a lovely cottage! We stayed over Christmas with our one year old who absolutely loved the toy box and we enjoyed browsing the books. So cosy and homely, all the little touches, including Christmas decorations greatly appreciated. We would love to come back and visit again to make more use of the garden! Peaceful and relaxing. Alison and Mark were very communicative and helpful. Everything we needed and more. Thank you.

Longbarn Dairy End cottage is a barn conversion with exposed beams on our smallholding. In a quiet location in the Carmarthenshire countryside. It is one of two cottages converted from our former stables. The other cottage, Longbarn Cottage One is also available on Airbnb, it sleeps two people in one double with ensuit bedroom.
Lots of guests have asked us where they can eat around here the nearest places are:- Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint SA19 8UW Brunant Arms, Caio SA19 8RD Tafarn Jem SA48 8HF on the A482 towards Lampeter.
  • Gillian's place is a great escape. Quiet, Dark (without light pollution) and secluded. The space was bright, warm and super clean - including a bath. Not far from a bunch of things to see/do and the aforementioned cake was a dream.

  • This cottage is a gem, with all the comfort you could wish for and stunning surroundings. We will definitely be back!

    Gwen2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian's apartment is in a converted barn, accessed by an unsurfaced track, in a setting of peace and solitude. The apartment is presented to the highest standard and spotlessly clean.

    Jane2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very cleaned and you can expect a vey peaceful stay. We were impressed with the kitchen (cooking facilities) and the bathroom (cleaned, modern and bathtub and a really good shower). The location is perfect too. About 20 minutes from most walking sites and quite a few Castles around too. Yep definitely a very nice place to stay.

Lovely well-equipped cottage in rural location set in spectacular countryside 1/2 hour drive to coast.Comfortable, deceptively spacious, original features, wood burning stove (logs etc provided). Enclosed private garden. All bedding and towels provided. Extensive welcome pack including Welsh hamper, toiletries etc. Nearby dog-friendly pub. Ideal for exploring both coast and country, great for walking, cycling etc.or just to relax by the fire and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful place.
This authentic c1800 Welsh Cottage provides comfortable open-plan living with lots of period charm mixed with everything needed for modern-day living. The cottage is extremely well- equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. Friendly hosts who live nearby are available to help with any queries and advice and will gladly recommend places to visit in the local area to suit all tastes. There is a lovely pub in the village within walking distance of the cottage which serves good home-cooked food and welcomes well-behaved dogs. Rural location but not remote with easy road and rail links.
The cottage is approx 1/2 mile from the famous Dolaucothi Goldmines, built by the Romans and now owned by the National Trust where visitors can pan for gold and take a tour of the underground mine shafts. Carmarthenshire is well-known for its wealth of castles, in particular Carreg Cennen and Dynefwr Castles in nearby Llandeilo The beautiful West Wales coast is approx 1/2 hour away by car where there are many small sandy coves and beaches as well as larger towns such as Aberaeron and New Quay where dolphins, porpoises and seals can often be seen. The local pubs in the area are all extremely friendly and serve excellent home-cooked meals. Particularly recommended is the Brunant Arms, Caio (see Facebook for details) and the Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint (recently voted Countryfile Best British Pub 2019)
  • Wonderful, characterful cottage with excellent amenities.

We enjoyed a nice meal at the dolcauthi pub.We would recommend booking at the dinning arms in Caio,it is very busy.We would recommend going to Lyn Brianne reservoir,Aberaeron and Gwarnant activity centre.

  • This is a stunning little cottage in a lovely rural area. The cottage is beautifully presented with an authentic feel but everything you would want for amenities. The hosts have put lovely extra touches to make it stand out like welsh treats and a real glass bottle of milk. We have two huskies that stayed with us and can say the cottage and surrounding area was dog friendly! The place was clean and homely and we would definitely like to return and would highly recommend. Thanks!

  • This cottage is idyllic. Very well equipped and peaceful. Great host too.

    Lorraine2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage with great log burner. Nicely tucked away from main roads so there is no noise from traffic. The private garden is great and the place in general was very accomodating for both us and our two small dogs.

    Larry2018-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place was great. There were lots of really helpful touches for toddlers (fire guard, stair gates, blow up bath). The kitchen was really well stocked with tea/coffee/salt/pepper/oil etc. The area was lovely and we enjoyed the 15 minute walk down to the friendly local pub. Thank you for providing a perfect cosy cottage for a New Year break.

    Milly2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We could not of asked for more. Perfect location if you want to escape from all the noise of life. Lots of local walks, and a short drive to the coast... the cottage has everything you could need, with thoughtful added extras, which we were very grateful for. At first it seemed like we might need to snuggle up in blankets, but once the log burner started the whole cottage was toasty warm. The bed was comfy, the sofa was spacious, the whole property was lovely and clean, with fresh linens and towels. Very good value for money, would highly recommend.

  • We had an amazing holiday in this beautiful, cosy cottage surrounded by magnificent views and countryside. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape a city. Thank you Liz and John.

A beautiful traditional bowtop gypsy caravan nestled on the edge of the mountain on our family farm, off the beaten track in the beautiful county of Carmarthenshire, West Wales. With 2000 acres of Llanllwni mountain to explore on your doorstep plus tonnes of local sights and activities. This Gypsy caravan is ideal for a single person but can accommodate two people if necessary. A great place to come for 'timeout' and to simply just be or to recuperate after a busy week.
As a family, we at Blanca Trekking take great pleasure in enabling others to share what we are so privileged to enjoy on a daily basis. We would no way call this glamping but do take pride in providing unique, simple yet comfortable accommodation to which our guests return time and time again. Our Gypsy Caravan is perfect for one person, but could accomodate two. It is cosy and tiny accomodation. Please note that the bed is very small ( 3ft x 5ft 9") keeping with the authenticity of the original bowtop bed sizes. We do also provide an inflatable camping mattress which can be used on the floor of the caravan for a second person. However please bring your own bedding for this as we only supply bedding for the caravan bed. We also allow a small tent to be pitched close by if wanted. The bowtop is heated by a very efficient woodburner (logs provided) and lit in the traditional way by lanterns. There is also a fire pit for you to use with a tripod and traditional cooking utensils, perfect for cooking a fried breakfast, a filling stew or a cuppa. This is not 'luxury' accommodation....it is not for the faint hearted....it is basic outdoor living...no electric....no running water. However, in case of bad weather, you also have access to a shared kitchen and bathroom area just a short walk away on the farmyard. This kitchen is equipped with a sink, electric oven (and hobs), fridge, washing machine and plenty of utensils for your to use. There are also some plug sockets here for charging devices! The bathroom has (limited) hot water, with bathing facilities and a flushing toilet We would like to stress that this is all an extra really, as it takes away the experience of an authentic way of living when using electricity and running water!
Blanca Trekking is set in stunning countryside and yet lucky enough to be within easy reach of all areas of West Wales including beaches, castles, villages and market towns in which there are a variety of amenities and activities to explore and enjoy.
  • What a wonderful welcome and what a truest amazing experience we had the best time in the loveliest surroundings My parents are already looking to stay next year and we are returning with our children

  • It was an amazing experience and we enjoyed every minute! Ruths response and hospitality was incredible and very much appreciated. She gave us a warm welcome and ensured we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable through out our stay. Ruths caravan is beautifully presented and a real gem in the most beautiful countryside. It had everything we could have needed for our stay - even down to lots of fire work to ensure that we were finally successful in our attempt to start a camping fire. Wonderful experience and would love to come again! Thank you for hosting us!l Ruth - couldn’t recommend this Airbnb enough!

  • Seriously cosy and comfortable cottage. The best bed and duvet I've ever slept with! It was the perfect place to come back to after getting cold and wet in the forest. I'd love to come back in the summer when the weather is nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the peace of the location.

    Simon2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly a gorgeous cosy cottage to escape to! It has been renovated to a level where the cottage still has that old world feel but also has updated tasteful touches. It was nice and clean and we felt at home here. We travelled here in Autumn so the days were warm and nights were cool. We had the fireplace lit during the night which warmed the cottage up nicely. After days packed with seeing the sights my family and I would come back to this little retreat and share Welsh cake (provided by Cristina) by the fire after hot baths. Cristina also provided fresh milk, tea and coffee which was a nice touch. There are a number of books on the shelves and games as well so more then enough to keep us entertained. In the mornings we would wake to mist on the mountains, the stunning abbey ruins and sheep doing a morning meander. It was peaceful to watch it all with a morning cup of hot coffee. Cristina suggested a number of local places to eat, which were great and obviously loved by the Welsh speaking locals, it was a joy to hear them speak around us. Our only regret is we didn't do much walking around the property as there is a number of walks you can do, we are looking forward to coming back soon!

    Stephanie2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Red Kite Lodge. It is set in a beautiful, peaceful location and the cottage was really comfy and perfect for what we needed. The information you are sent by Cristina before your stay is outstanding; so many local recommendations to choose from, including local pubs, restaurants and also places to visit. One of the recommended places to visit is a local RSPB conservation area which was magical, and we had such a memorable walk along the river there on our last day. We're planning on returning as soon as we can!

Waun Fforest is situated on the edge of Brechfa forest, the largest forest in Wales. If it is peace and tranquility you are looking for, we have it in bucketfuls! The stars on a clear night are something to be experienced, sit outside and enjoy with a glass of vino. It is perfect for walking, you don't even need to get in a car, it is right on your doorstep. Cyclist can ride all day without going near a road. The Brechfa Forest offers the enthusiastic cyclist one of the best off road cycle tracks in the whole of the UK. I am told by enthusiasts it takes about three hours to complete. Many friendly pubs are dotted around the area, most of them welcome family pets. If the sun refuses to shine, spend some time watching a dvd or perhaps play board games or cards that are provided. Spend a cosy evening by the wood burner. A starter pack of wood, coal and kindling is provided. Further supplies can be bought locally. The National Trust has many interesting properties in the area including the Dolaucothi gold mines, which provides a fascinating insight into Roman ingenuity. • Caroline was very lovely and we didn’t get there till late and she was waiting for us in tbd freezing cold at the bottom of the lane so we didn’t get lost. There was tea, sugar, milk and biscuits laid out which was so lovely and even a bowl of biscuits for our dog. Kids loved the house, it was lovely and warm even though we were there late of October. Big bedrooms, 4 bathrooms a lovely kitchen with all amenities and a lovely living room. The garden was enclosed which is perfect for dogs. We loved this house and will definitely be back. X
