Loved the facilities to be able to have a coffee and be able to shower and clean all of our cooking stuff. EVERYTHING has been thought about and we couldn't have had a better time.

A very unique cosy property converted from an old stone outbuilding. The cottage is on the bank of the Caseg river and surrounded by a quiet garden, providing an excellent retreat, while only 5 minutes walk from the amenities of the local village Bethesda. Take a local walk in the Ogwen valley, to Zip World or access climbing, walking, mountain biking and kayaking activities in Snowdonia directly from the cottage. A relaxing evening soak in the hot tub can be recommended.
The driveway leads to plenty of parking. A paved patio area with seating and BBQ / fire pit adjoins the garden with the river only 5m away. A storage shed for wet gear and equipment is next to the front door. Once inside, a compact kitchen comprises of a double hob, oven, kettle, toaster and fridge. There is seating around the table for four. The living and dining area then leads through to a double bedroom and separate wet shower room and toilet. The entire cottage has under floor heating. A large secluded hot tub can be enjoyed at the rear of the cottage next to the river.
The main house and cottage is set in a secluded, large, riverside garden. Bethesda town has many amenities - pubs, take aways, a small Tesco and Londis. It is possible to walk from the house almost without using any roads to complete leisurely local walks down to the river Ogwen, to Zip World (restaurant) or to access the Carneddi mountain range. Kayakers with experience can paddle from the garden down the Caseg river before joining the Ogwen, one of the best rivers for white water in Wales. More gentle water activities can be had on the lake at Llanberis and there are numerous wild swimming opportunities. We have a number of canoes and kayaks available to loan, but you do so at your own risk! Mountain bike trails are plentiful in the area, or quiet roads for those that prefer. Rock climbing and bouldering are easily accessed in the Ogwen or Llanberis Valley. For those that prefer, the beaches and surfing on Anglesey are only a 30 minute drive. North Wales has a wide range of tourist attractions for visitors of all ages, including castles, National Trust properties, Zip World, Bounce Below, Tree Tops, the Great Orme, Llanberis slate museum and Electric Mountain, The Greenwood Centre , Foel Farm and the Anglesey Sea Zoo all on our doorstep. Bangor, Caernarfon, Conwy and Llandudno all have great restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as theatres and cinemas.
  • Nick & Lesley are fantastic hosts with a truly special accommodation to offer. The space itself is fantastic but the surrounding garden and waterfalls are as beautiful as Wales gets. Very warm and cosy, perfect space for couples. We look forward to coming back in the summer.

  • Perfect place if you're looking to escape for the weekend. Hosts are very quick to respond and offer solutions to any questions/problems.

  • A beautiful, well-kept bungalow in a picturesque location. Easy to get to local amenities, and very easy to access walks in Snowdonia.

  • If you’re looking for a weekend getaway in a peaceful area filled with fantastic views of welsh mountains, this is the property for you! Myself and my partner had a fantastic stay here. It was about a 15 minute walk to the fastest zip line in the world and we fully recommend staying here if you intend to visit zip world! The views around the property were incredible. Having the waterfall run behind the cottage made the stay even more relaxing. After coming off the zip line and having an explore around the area we came back to the cottage for a dip in the hot tub! Which was an extra special treat! Nick and Lesley were so friendly and welcoming, we couldn’t have asked for better hosts!

  • Set with backdrop of Snowdonia hills and next to a little river. 5-10 min walk to local shops, cafes and pubs. Ideal for walks into Snowdonia, although due to the storms we didn't manage any. Hot tub was a best part! Clean, spacious and warm 😀 Already recommended to family and friends and we'll be back for sure.

    Elliott2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location by the stream, a good base for relaxing after a hike up Snowden or an action packed day at Zipworld. Great communications and having a private hot tub, to soak all your aches away is a total bonus.

    Andy2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most amazing two nights here, this place is honestly so lovely - the pictures don't it justice!!! The little cottage has everything you need and more, the hot tub is such a nice extra and the area is beautiful with very impressive waterfalls and right on the edge of snowdonia. Couldn't have asked for anything better and we are already looking into dates when we can come back in the summer!!

Closed during lockdown. Paddleboard is a cosy little cottage with loads of character. Remote location for families to escape. This is a perfect, peaceful location right on the Menai Strait. Whether you want watersports, a spot of fishing, a stroll with the dog along the shore or just relax with a good book. Located just 5 minutes away from the A55, Paddleboard is a perfect hub from which to explore the delights of Anglesey and Snowdonia. Moel y Don Cottage is also available here
Living Room is open plan upstairs with a simple well stocked kitchen: fridge with icebox, electric oven with gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle. Bedrooms are located downstairs and comprise of: 1 bedroom has a kingsize bed. 1 bedroom has two single beds. Bathroom is compact but has everything you need - shower over bath, sink, toilet, mirror and heated towel rail. The hot tub is available to rent at an extra cost of £35 for single use or £50 for the duration of your stay. We try our very best to be kind to our planet and have started by doing the following simple things: We were involved with the creation of the Plastic Free Anglesey campaign. We provide shampoo/conditioner/handsoap stored in refillable bottles and produced by a responsible local firm. The coffee/tea/sugar/treats are all fairtrade. Our laundry is all done by a local company, again using responsible methods. Power supplied to the house is sourced from renewables. We encourage all our guests to use our recycling facilities.
You can enjoy this tranquil haven and yet have buzz of Menai Bridge (renowned for great pubs and restaurants) Snowdonia National park and lots of golden sandy beaches within easy reach. Enjoy a sundowner on the decked terrace, or stroll down to the water's edge, enjoy the varied bird life, watch the tide ebb and flow or simply watch the fabulous sunsets bounce off the water. If you have a thirst for adventure then this area is an absolute must. Rib rides on the Straits (one of the best ways to see Anglesey by boat), surf in the mountains (really!), learn to kite board, go for a zip wire experience, do the tree top adventures, or visit the many National Trust houses - take your pick, it is all here and we can point you in the right direction. Hot tub rental available at £35/night or £50 for your stay.
  • An excellent host- couldn't have been more helpful or enthusiastic! Thanks very much!

  • Paddleboard Cottage is a little gem with wonderful hosts in Nicki & Tom (and family). The cottage is well appointed, clean and cosy and is itself a lovely historic wood beam building. There is a small garden with hot tub where you can soak up the afternoon sun (or rain!) and enjoy the views over the Menai Straight towards Snowdon; our 4yr old simply loved it and it gave us a really lovely family activity to do together at the end of a busy day exploring. Location wise it is great, 10 mins drive from Menai Bridge, so within easy reach of the castles and adventure activities on the mainland but nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of mainland too. The shoreline is 100m from the cottage and at low-tide a large sandbar provides a fab place to exercise the dog and enjoy the space, light and peace (and wind!). There is a lovely church just behind the cottage and coastal walks you can do from the cottage so you don't have to get in the car if you dont want to. 10 mins away is the charming Sea zoo and Foel Farm and Anglesea Salt factory. Whilst we did not have time to explore much of Anglesea we loved all three attractions and they provided a great (and not commercialised) activity to do with our 4yr old. Nice and gentle! Food was great, we ate at Dylans in Menai Bridge which does awesome seafood and the Erskine in Conwy (after a long which served an amazing Sunday roast. All-in-all the cottage, hosts, location and the area gave us 3 amazing days and I highly recommend it!

    Philip2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at paddleboard. The perfect cosy place for a getaway. This is our third trip to paddleboard and I'm sure we will be back again! Nicki is an excellent host. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay x

    Alice2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Paddleboard Cottage. The perfect location to explore beautiful Anglesey. Despite a wild and wet weekend, we were cosy and warm in the cute and beautifully styled cottage and even a managed some time in the hot tub looking at the gorgeous view over the Menai Straight. Nicki was indeed a super host. Thanks very much.

    Susannah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for exploring Anglesey.

    Eduardas2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Nicki's place. The little house was very clean and well furnished. The beds in particular were very comfortable. Nicki was extremely helpful and welcoming, without being intrusive. The property is in a lovely location with easy access to most places on the island.

    Ulrich2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and ideal for a family holiday with a dog. Very welcoming hosts :)

    Andrew2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Paddleboard Cottage. The cottage itself is great: well-equipped, comfortable and clean, and in a great location for exploring the area. Nicki was really welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were staying there during Storm Ciara and Nicki very kindly braved the elements to come and check we were ok and to see if we needed any supplies to see us through the weather! We would definitely recommend Nicki and Paddleboard Cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area, and are hoping to return ourselves very soon!

Great views, fantastic walking and cycling in Snowdonia National Park, close to Llanberis, Caernarfon, Anglesey and the beautiful North Wales coast. Great for couples and small families. The annex is in a quiet rural area with outstanding views, stepping straight out into the beautiful Welsh countryside.
Originally a Welsh Long Barn, this is one of the oldest buildings in the village. Renovated to a very high standard, full of history and character but modern and functional. The lounge is dominated by a wonderful original fireplace, now equipped with a large wood burning stove. The exposed beams and full height ceiling, with additional windows, provide a bright, comfortable space. There is also underfloor heating and a backup electric radiator. In the lounge there is a sofa bed that could be used for additional guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large patio window that looks out to the patio area and beautiful countryside beyond. The bedroom is in the roof space with large windows that again make the most of the view. The bed is a double bed. There are large glazed panels that provide a view back to the lounge and roof windows that again make the space bright and comfortable. There is a separate, lockable store area for wet goods/ bicycles etc.
The accommodation is on the edge of Clwt-Y-Bont - a small village. There are no properties overlooking Cae Rhedyn and so it is very peaceful. Outstanding walking from the doorstep.
  • You don’t need to read the rest of the review, just get yourselves there! It’s definitely our most favourite stay there. The place was very comfortable, very clean and also the perfect location for getaway with all the lovely things to see to do by car or on foot. The communication was also great with them, giving us plenty of local tips too! You are close to Llanberis (10mins drive), 15 mins from Bangor which has all the major big supermarkets. We highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed. Two days wasn’t enough as there is so much to do around there but we plan to come back on the near future for sure!

    Hakim2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place in a gorgeous setting with lovely hosts - highly recommended. What’s not to love?!

    Emma2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, wonderful location. Spotlessly clean with lots of thoughtful touches. Tim and Liz are great hosts and we will definitely be going back.

    Alex2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this beautiful little spot. It’s everything you could ever want for a peaceful, stunningly beautiful break. The accommodation is awesome, and really cosy and super warm with the log burner going. We came to the area to walk in the snowdonia Park. But behind the Annex is a great little rugged area to explore with the dog, with streams and lots of wonderful welsh countryside. Tim has been spot on with all communication, and it was wonderful to find some little touches when we arrived such as welsh cakes, milk, eggs and bread. We will certainly be back!!!!!! It’s perfect.

    Susan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect place to unwind and relax. Spotlessly clean and very homely.

    Lucy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

This comfortable, updated stone-built cottage is the ideal base for an adventurous break in the Snowdonia National Park. At the base of the Nant Peris Valley, one of the most dramatic in Britain, it is perfectly located for climbing Snowdon. The accommodation is great for one or two couples, or a small family. In our tiny village of Nant Peris we have a great local pub with ales, good food and an inglenook fire a stroll from your front door. Castles, beaches and adventures- Snowdonia has it all.
The ground floor is open plan. The lounge/diner area has a satellite TV and WIFI, although it's not the fastest! The area is centrally heated in cold weather and there is a log effect heater for any chilly evenings. Off the lounge/diner is the secondary sleeping area, with purpose built settee converting to a 6'6'' long double bed. The kitchen has an electric range style cooker with grill and fan ovens along with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine etc. Upstairs is the bedroom with standard double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers etc. The bathroom is en-suite and has bath with shower over, basin/vanity mirror and toilet.
Nant Peris is a small village with a long history. It is much older than the nearby, larger village of Llanberis. We have no shop but we do have our Pub and 14th century church. For shopping,Restaurants etc a short drive or 25 minute walk gets you to Llanberis, which is also a centre for outward bound pursuits including climbing, canoeing, wild swimming, paddle boarding, triathlons and the list goes on... The Royal Town of Caernarfon with its World Heritage 13th century castle, Roman fort etc is easily accessible by bus or car and offers supermarkets and a larger range of shops, restaurants and so on. While here why not visit the REAL castle of Merlin the Magician, or a unique coastal hilltop stone age village-no entry fees !
  • A lovely place in a great location. Tom was an exceptional host. A great few days so thank you and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days.

    Hector2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Tom’s cottage. A lovely, well equipped little house with everything you might need - great to have a big kitchen with a nespresso machine etc! Cosy and warm. The location is unbeatable - 5 mins drive from both llanberis and the pen y pass car park. Beautiful views outside and a great traditional pub next door! Tom was lovely and very hospitable during our stay. Thank you!

    Beth2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay in a fantastic location. Would stay again!

    Liz2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tom’s hospitality, warm welcome and attentiveness was a great addition to our amazing time staying in Nant Peris for our Snowdon climb. Highly recommend this accommodation with an added bonus of a good old traditional boozer next door having great pub grub.

    Steven2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, well kept. Tom is very knowledgable about the local area and is a superb host.

    Will2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very modern and much more spacious than we expected very quite location but that’s what we wanted very neutral to explore the natural Beaty of Snowdonia thanks Tom for being a great host

    Pamela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’d like to thank Tom so much for his hospitality during our stay in the cottage. We had a lovely time despite the weather being pretty awful, but it was a lovely break away. The cottage was pretty much what we had expected from reading the reviews and Tom couldn’t have been a better host. We really appreciated his quick responses to our messages and he was even kind enough to give us a lift into the village one evening to save on taxi fares. We weren’t able to get up Snowdon this time due to the weather but it is perfectly situated for it and we may be back in the summer! ☺️ There is WiFi however this can be a bit temperamental and slow, and with there being no signal, it’s perfect for anyone wanting to shut off the real world for a few days - although we did get signal just a few minutes drive away. There is a lovely little pub next door which do nice food and has a nice open fire! Overall we enjoyed our quiet break away and the cottage is nice and cosy. Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality and fabulous location. Tom lives right next door and is a wonderful host; there if you need him with speedy responses, but otherwise leaves you to it. Cottage is clean and homely with plenty of amenities. It's right next to a public footpath which trails being the property into beautiful views. Big supermarkets are about 20mins drive away, but there's a Spar in Llanberis which is 5 mins drive away. Thanks again Tom for a lovely stay!

A variety of teas and coffee are always available so feel free to brew up. Bed linen and towels are provided. Although there is no parking on the property there is always parking on the road. Our home is a one minute walk to Mynydd Cilgwyn Mountain which is heather covered in summer and autumn and a beautiful place to see and experience nature. A quarry man's cottage at the foot of Snowdon. Fully refurbished in 2015 to provide excellent facilities for couples and young families. Snowdon is at the door and Rhyd Ddu provides good accessibility to a wide range of other activities.
  • A charming cottage, perfectly located to explore Snowdonia. Clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Great value for money.

    Katie2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for a better location for this cottage. Especially if you are planning on climbing Snowdon via the Rhyd-Ddu path and the Snowdon Rangers path. The cottage is very nice and cosy and our dogs felt very much at home. The place is very clean, warm and tidy with all the necessary amenities. A place to wash and dry your wet walking gear and an outside garden if you are lucky enough with the weather. The village itself is quiet with a nice little pub within a stones throw of the cottage. There is also a forest nearby to get lost in if the mountain weather aren’t suitable for hiking. The host is very accommodating and communication is impeccable.

    Ryan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was spot on and the location was fantastic, right on the Rhyd Ddu path to Snowdon!

    Sam2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A superb location to access the Snowdonia landscape on foot or bike. Excellent facilities. Dry and warm. I am a repeat guest.

    Daniel2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay at a beautifully finished cottage. Perfectly located for Snowdon treks (a 2 minute walk and you're at the base of the Rhyd Ddu path) or just for a chill out. Excellent communications from the host. Highly recommend!

Easy access to a55 and Anglesey with it's variety of stunning beaches. Parking available on the road and in the car parking spaces up the hill from the house. Residential neighborhood within walking distance of the high street. Just across the road is a big common with a play ground and car parking nearby. Pubs, restaurants and shops within five minutes walking distance and close to local swimming spots, bicycle path and walking routes. Stunning scenery all around the village, my favorite view in the world! A great mixture of people living in Bethesda and surrounding villages, there is a local venue for markets, cinemas, events and yoga classes, a pop up pizza night and a riverside festival. Salmon fishing in the river, natural swimming spots by the ogwen bank and all the stunning mountains and hillsides, constantly changing, always a feast for the eye and senses.
  • Lovely place! The little garden round the back was amazing to get some sun (it was a lifesaver when self isolating!) really liked the kitchen and how cool and cozy it felt.

  • Linda’s place is the perfect Air B and B to experience the true beauty of Snowdonia. We have stayed with Linda on every trip to snowdonia (except one where she was fully booked which is great!) We can’t picture snowdonia without Linda’s cottage. The rustic homely vibe is what is needed with beautiful scenery, a very close car park, great local tips and much more! The log fire will keep you warm all through your trip as well as provided heaters. Linda is always quick to respond and always happy to answer questions, we’ll be back next year for our annual trip to snowdonia and to Linda’s cottage!

  • This AirBnB is perfect stopping point for travellers of North Wales. It's a simple, aesthetic and cozy setup with all your amenities and little in the way of distractions. Clearly a lot of effort has been put into it to make it welcoming and homely! Also it was a very no-nonsense process of getting the keys to the building which, after a long drive, is much appreciated.

  • This is a wonderful cottage for a cosy stay. Anna was very helpful and getting in was easy. The cottage is beautifully done inside. Everything you need for a cosy couple of days. Perfect for 2 or 3 people. It is a 10 min walk from the local village and a well stocked tesco express. There is parking but in a lay by on the main road next to the house. There is a wonderful wooden staircase but it may not be suitable for someone with reduced mobility. Overall a really lovely stay would definitely recommend.

  • We’ve had a great time at Anna’s place. It’s a lovely, little cottage with everything you need to relax and unwind. We’ve stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is great as there’s so much to do in the area. Even the welsh weather was on our side. Anna was in touch all the way through our stay and made sure we’ve settled in. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether you just want to unwind or make the most of the beauty of North Wales.

  • This is a very lovely cottage. Quirky. Log fire which we now know how to light and it makes for a superbly cosy lounge. Heating very effective. Not a lot of headroom above the main bed but you learn quickly! Laid out very well and very clean. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Anna kept in close contact to make sure that everything was ok which was kind of her. Great communication. We would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

This is a lovely twin room in a spacious house, on the outskirts of Tregarth village. Option of a 3rd mattress on the floor. The shared bathroom is close to the bedroom and the kitchen is available for tea and coffee, along with fridge space. Simple breakfast (cereal and toast) is available. The house is home to us, our son and our Jack Russel. Off road parking is available. Garden available for sunny evenings, or evening fires. Cycle track, cafe and a pub (no food) all within a 5 minute walk.
The spacious house is on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, and close to Zipworld, and other attractions. Anglesey is a short drive away. We are very close to the cycle track and a network of lovely footpaths. Pick up and drop off for the North Wales and Anglesey Coast path can be provided by prior arrangement. We have several walking, climbing, wild swimming and cycling guides and maps which you are welcome to borrow. We also have an acoustic guitar that you are welcome to use.
The area is very green, with trees and hills. There is a good bus service in to Bangor and the Ogwen Valley is a 5 minute drive away. The cycle track (Lon Las Ogwen) leads to Bangor in one direction and to Idwel Cottage (up the Ogwen valley) in the other. The area is a particularly good base for the attractions of Snowdonia and Anglesey, as well walking, climbing and water sports.

  • I've had another pleasant stay with Ben and his family. I found everyone to be warm and welcoming as usual and I was even taught how to play backgammon! :)

    Chris2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I've had another pleasant stay at Ben's. It works well for me whilst I'm working in Bangor for a few days a week. The room is quiet - both from internal and external noise - Ben and his family make me feel welcome, the place is clean and comfortable, and we've yet to have any bathroom clashes. This is my third stay at Ben's and I'm planning on returning again, that in itself tells you a lot about the place and the hosts.

    Chris2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Ben's house. As with the previous stay, everyone in the household was friendly and made me feel welcome. The hosts provided more local knowledge of places where I could eat, factoring in my restrictive dietary choices. The bedroom is comfortable and quiet. Overall this is a nice place to stay

    Chris2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed another night at Ben and Jude's. Great hospitality as usual. Had a good rest. Others should take the room without hesitation. I'm a European certified assessor of quality. This place is good.

    Russell2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • I found Ben to be friendly, warm, and welcoming. Ben gave me some good tips on where to eat locally. The bedroom was spacious and comfy and at night it was dark and quiet which was conducive to a good night's sleep

  • Ben and Jude have a really nice place. Hospitality was excellent. The shower....oh the shower... if anyone needs a really nice shower, this is where you'll find it - in a massive bathroom! Everything at the house is in order. I'd stay again. If you're thinking of staying with Ben and Jude, stop thinking and start booking! (I have not been offered any incentives for giving this glowing feedback).

A cosy little cottage nestled in the heart of Llanberis. Perfect for walkers, climbers or families that want to explore the mountains. Minutes walk from the local shops, cafes, pubs and all Llanberis has to offer.
A warm cottage nestled in the heart of Llanberis. The house has an open light feel, with great views over the village to the mountains. It is set over two floors, with a large seating and dining area. There's a well equipped kitchen, for those that enjoy cooking. The lounge is cosy and has a good selection of books. The wood burner makes it warm and toasty in the winter months, perfect to come back to after a long walk on the hills. There is also a selection of games and puzzles for you to enjoy. There are three bedrooms; one large double bedroom with views of the mountains, a second double room and the third room has solid wooden bunk beds good for children or adults. There is a family bathroom with bath and shower. The house is on a small terraced row, just up from the high street. There is parking for one car in front of the house and nearby streets have unrestricted parking. A short walk takes you to shops, pubs and lakeside. The house is a lovely retreat at any time of the year.
Llanberis lies at the foot of Snowdon, popular for walkers, climbers and mountain bikers alike. The house is perfectly located for those looking to leave the car parked up. It's situated within walking distance to local shops, cafés and pubs and the Snowdon railway is 5 minutes walk if you don't fancy the hike up! If you do want to climb the 1084 metres, you can do it from the front door up the Llanberis path. There is also a bus stop at the end of the road which takes you directly to Pen y Pass, from there you will have access to more walking routes. Parking is limited in the Pass, we would recommend the bus.
  • Amazing host, amazing location, amazing time! House was homely and clean. The welcome kit of firewood for the wood burner, tea, coffee, milk, pancakes, jam etc was most appreciated. Also the folder detailing places to eat and things to do nearby was very handy. All in all we had a great time and were sad to leave. Thank you Cat & Ella for a great time.

    Ryan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was excellent. Nice and homely with the kitchen being well equipped. The lounge was comfortable as were the bedrooms and the cottage is in a great location to explore Llanberis and beyond.

    Christopher2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ella’s place was perfect for our short stay in North Wales, in particular for our walk up Snowdon which we did from the house. The house was clean and cozy - especially with the log burner going!

    Freddie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay at the cottage, and I'm sure I'll be back again! It's in a brilliant location with great facilities.

    Katherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location as we walked snowdon. Clean and tidy. Comfy. Enjoyed nights in playing board games with our teenage kids.

    Rachael2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ella’s place is fantastically situated so close to Llanberis high street and Llyn Padarn. We had frightful weather and didn’t get to enjoy the hills, but did make the most of local kids’ attractions, woodland walks in Padarn country park and the slate museum. A really lovely spot, in a warm, comfortable and well equipped house that we would love to return to.

    Chloe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay! Check in and out was very easy and convenient, with a lock box on the front of the house. The house itself was lovely and had everything you need, including lots of small touches like snacks, tea, boardgames and DVDs. The location is great, literally round the corner from the high street and only a short walk to the start of the footpath to Snowdon. Llanberis itself has everything you need, and Ella's place has a folder with recommendations of where to go for food, drinks, walks and activities.

Gwelafon is an end terrace traditional quarryman’s cottage in Llanrug. It is a short walk to the shops, pubs and award winning butchers. Llanberis is 2 miles away and has many attractions including Snowdon Mountain Railway and the Slate Museum. An ideal location for walkers, climbers and families who love the outdoors. Caernarfon, with it’s famous castle and excellent restaurants is 3 miles away. A short drive to the exciting attraction ‘Zip World’ and Anglesey with it’s excellent beaches.
Space The cottage consist of a well equipped kitchen, open plan living/dining area, 3 bedrooms and a modern ground floor bathroom. There is a good size garden, and ample private off road parking for up to 3 cars. There is excellent fibre optic Wifi connection. Interaction with guest We will be able to answer any questions via email or text within 24 hours. The cottage has been my family home. My family have lived in the house for nearly 90 years. My father was born in the house, and I have many fond memories of my childhood there. Over the years the house was modernised by my parents. When they passed away, I wanted to hold on to the cottage, and Catrin and myself decided to totally refurbish the cottage. It was during the refurbishment that we uncovered the large inglenook that you can see in the photos. Although my father remembers the open inglenook, it had been bricked up for over 50 years (before my time). A picture of the house, drawn by my brother can be seen on the landing. This is how I remember the cottage from my chilhood, up until we renovated the cottage.
The cottage is situated on the outskirts of the village of Llanrug. It is surrounded by open countryside. The cottage is ideally located for those looking at a base for all the attractions of Gwynedd and Anglesey. 3minutes walk up the road towards Llanrug is a large School playing field, and opposite is a 9 hole golf course Tyddyn Mawr, they also have foot-golf, where you kick a football from one hole to the next, following normal golf rules, fun for those who can't swing a golf club. In the opposite direction around 150 yards from the cottage is a bridge and there is a footpath that will take you down to the river - afon pronounced 'avon' is the welsh word for river, this river is called afon Seiont, which flows down to Caernarfon Castle - you will not be able to walk the whole way to Caernarfon along the river. There are many excellent beaches around the coastline. The coastal walk. Ribride on the Menai Straits. The many Heritage sites, like Caernarfon Castle, the Llanberis Slate Museum (free entry). Not to mention the excellent variety of adrenaline activities, Zip Ride in Bethesda and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Climbing, Hiking, Kayaking or cycling. Everything you may want to try and more. There are also excellent places to eat (you are welcome to ask for recommendations) in the local town of Caernarfon and surrounding area.
  • A great little cottage with good size rooms. Very clean and tidy, good directions so easy to find and get in.

  • As a group of 4 friends we spent a weekend in this house. We were on a landscape photography trip. The location is 5 minutes driving to Llanberris and Snowdon is closeby. The coast and Anglesey is also close so the location was perfect for us. From the photos we thought there was a fireplace, but actually it is not a real wooden fireplace (and indeed it is not listed in the amenities). The house was very warm and comfortable. The rooms were clean and fairly sized. The garden looks great for a summer stay (we were in winter so we didn't use it). The value for the money was very good, I would definitively advice to stay in this house.

    Andrea2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean, nice location with space to park cars, hosts are quick to response and are happy to give recommendations. Would 100% stay again!

This lovely country cottage enjoys a rural location near the picturesque River Rhythallt, with elevated views across the valley towards Snowdon. Just one mile from the Welsh village of Llanrug, with local pubs, shops and an award-winning butcher. 3 miles from Llanberis and the Snowdonia National Park. A great place to enjoy the mountain scenery and access the hills. Note: Cottage accessed via 0.1 mile, very narrow, windy lane, not suitable for wide vehicles and trailers.
A traditional Welsh cottage and despite it's name 'Ty Newydd' meaning new house, it's one of the oldest houses in the area with the original part of the cottage said to date back well over 300 years. Kept in the same family for the last 70 years, it's had many transformations. During the boom of the slate quarry, the house was owned by the station master, the public footpath that leads down from the cottage takes you to the old train building where the locomotives were stored. The old part of the house (Kitchen) is said to date back to the 17th Century and the newer part (Lounge and Bedrooms) date back to the 19th Century. Between the two, where the bathroom is now located, there existed a water wheel, powered by a small stream that has since been diverted through the fields, with a small pond in the back garden holding the water to power the wheel.
It enjoys a rural location with the convenience of being close to towns and the village of Llanberis.
  • We had a lovely time , cottage was picturesque and was super clean

  • Lovely cottage as described. The lane to the cottage is quite tight as Gareth has warned us in advance. There was a storm on the weekend we booked so we didn’t go out quite late. The DVDs are really appreciated 😊

  • Incredible place. Very well equipped, beautiful view, cosy rooms, all sorts of amenities, loads of useful utensils to cook, and very reactive host! We felt very welcome. Great location for going into Snowdonia or Anglesey. No WiFi but decent 4G signal. Who needs WiFi when you've got the mountains so close anyway! Don't come with too wide/long a car! The road up the cottage is extremely narrow!

    Jacob2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous space in a gorgeous place! We were looking for somewhere cosy and comfortable to prepare for, and recover from, our charity hike on the snowdon horseshoe, Gareth & Sarah’s cottage was perfect for just that. Loved the fresh flowers from the garden, herbs we could pick to cook, beautiful view of the mountains and the tranquil rural setting. The cottage itself was comfortable, warm and well-equipped and a great location for exploring the area. Narrow road was fine for my civic so long as you take it steady. We were sad to leave this beautiful spot! Thank you!

My place is close to the beach, Caernarfon Castle (a World Heritage site) and the town itself. Snowdonia mountain range, Bedgellet and forest and so much more. You’ll love my place because of the beautiful surroundings and ease of access to many places to suit all tastes. There is an on-site pool open from May (Whit Weekend) to September. The pool has a full time lifeguard. My place is good for couples, walkers, sailors, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets.
Owl's Rest is homely, peaceful and a really relaxing place to stay. The park has a village atmosphere and an unusual lay out of slate wood and brick homes that are built facing a fishing lake. Owls Rest is one of the more spacious chalets on the site due to the careful thought that has gone into the open plan design. The decking area is substantial and is one of the closest to the water - this makes it feel as if you are floating above the lake which is wonderful when you are sitting on the decking. Another unusual feature is that the chalet gets the sun first thing in the morning and is there all day until late in the evening. The decking at Owl's Rest is a great sun trap. If and when it rains Owl's Rest provides a cosy place to snuggle up, watch films and play the many board games or start a new book. There are also many indoor activities locally to explore in Gwynedd. Just google as they are too numerous to list! However, at the chalet there are leaflets that I and other guests have kindly collected. There are more at reception and they are always helpful with directions and local information.
This is a very friendly area and those around in our experience have always been willing to help. The reception will always point you in the right direction for the site or surrounding areas. It is open in normal business hours. The on-site shop are also very helpful and are open in low season in normal working hours but in high season very early until late at night.
  • Loved our short stay here over New Year. Helen's little cabin has everything you could need for a short stay somewhere picturesque and quiet. Out of season Helen's little place has space heaters in every room which helped keep us all cosy and snug. We especially appreciated all of the little touches like games,DVDs, coffee maker with a few pods etc that just added to our little family break. As before, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and perfectly designed for a short stay for 2 adults and 2 kids. Hope to return when the sun's shining!

    Lorna2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Helens chalet was lovely and also spotlessly clean, everything you could need was provided, and the park itself was also a lovely place with everything on site you could need. Location is also spot on with Caernarfon centre 10 mins down the road, and Llanberis & Snowdon a 15\20 minute drive. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

  • What a lovely location, amazing view and stylishly decorated place. We had a lovely time with our two young children, it was cold outside but the heating provided kept us nice and toasty. The site is one of the nicest I've been to with a great set of facilities even in the off season. We would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Snowdonia and the area around. Wonderful.

  • Amazing lovely place to stay

  • An amazing apartment in a quiet, quaint area. The apartment is very spacious, well-equipped and is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway. We particularly enjoyed visiting ‘The Swellies’ cafe for brunch, which is only a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Our favourite part however was exploring Caernarfon Castle which we would highly recommend! Thank you for a lovely stay, we’ll definitely be recommending this to friends and family.

  • We booked this online and rocked up at the address 25 mins later...Iwan was so helpful and we were so impressed with the facilities and of course the views. We visited a local pub and had the best pub food. We only stayed one night as we were up early to zip world but I can not recommend this place enough

    Jade2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best Airbnb locations we have stayed in. Perfectly located for Caernarfon and Snowdonia National Park with a great view of the Menai Straits. The place was clean, cozy, fully equipped with cooking and laundry facilities and there was a comprehensive guide to the house and local activities. The hosts were responsive too but we barely needed their help as they did such a good job ensuring we had all we needed. The price was reasonable too! I would recommend this property to anyone traveling to this area.

  • An amazing space, deceptively big and with everything a family needs. Great kitchen, with sharp knives and all the kit you could possibly need. Really nicely finished and thoughtfully decorated, with some nice little touches. Sparkly clean and lots of room for everyone and their stuff, which is not always the case for a family of 6 who trek around in a van. Great location for Snowdon and much of North Wales, with some of the best beaches in the world a short drive away.

    Lucy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house - perfect location for Snowdonia national park and so close to amazing outdoor shops, pubs and food stores. House is stunning, so well thought out and a great place for a group after a day on the mountains. Sarah and Johnny were great at communicating and lovely to deal with. House is close to the main path for Snowdon or if (like us) you fancy the harder routes like Watkins, Crib Goch or Elidyr Fawr are only a ten min drive away. We will definitely be back. Zo and team

You're assured a warm welcome to this beautifully restored small barn, now a cosy cottage with exclusive use of all year round hot tub! Stunning location bordering Snowdonia (10 mins walk to Park). On clear days Snowdon, Yr Wyddfa, herself is in full view. Free Electric car charge. Close to castles, Llyn Peninsula, much beautiful coastline, stone's throw from Anglesey & more! Suitable for couples/one individual. Come, pamper yourself on a restorative break, explore a glorious area, North Wales!
Recently renovated this once derelict barn, the Bwthyn Bach at Llys Ifor, has all modern comforts whilst retaining its character. The renovation has been done sensitively to keep the feel of a rural cottage, and some features have been retained, like the original barn lintels. The exclusive hot tub is given a water change after every booking, and the cleaning fee reflects this. There is a small private garden for the use of guests and you are always welcome to pop over to the main house for a cuppa! I am an experienced host who loves having people to stay. My job here is to make people feel made welcome and comfortable. I am creating a wild life haven and pond here so the landscaping is still in progress. But the place is surrounded by mountains and there is a river on the border of my land which you can hear from the cottage! .
A rural area, full of outstanding beauty and with coast line, sea, hills, mountains, rivers and nature in abundance. The village is small and friendly, and has some bus services but they are limited, so planning is the order of the day!
  • Dearest June, And everyone who is reading this. This place is flawless, magic and “exit’’ from these crazy days ... Fancy for walk to the Tŵr Mawr Lighthouse, to see South Stack, to go shopping to the Beddgelert, have a hot chocolate at the Ugly House or “climb’’ Snowdon? Stay here and cozy cottage with the view to THAT mountain (from the hot-tub) will take part of your heart away ... Thank you

  • It was a pleasure staying in June's property. She made us feel extremely welcome and gave us a quick run down of the property and how to use the facilities. The place was completely spotless and we were pleasantly surprised with the little touches of chocolates and Welsh cakes. The hot tub was great to use and it is maintained daily which is great. You have everything you need when you visit here and it was an extremely relaxing getaway! We will happily visit again in the future!

Guest announcement Thank you for taking the time to look at my holiday home. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, from 17th March 2020 I began to get cancellations and due to the government advise I have decided to stop taking booking for now. As soon as things improve and it is safe to welcome guests to North Wales, I will begin to take bookings again. I hope to have the property available before the end of the year! In the meantime I wish you all good health and happiness -Allie
My house is a newly built property with a spacious open plan kitchen living area, bathroom with under floor heating, bath/shower, and 2 cosy double bedrooms. The location of my house is in Cwm Y Glo which is a very small village, across the road from the house is a very quaint kiosk where basic supplies can be had. It is in a good location for a base to explore the area and there are many attractions and activities a short drive or bus ride away. The pictures I have added are of the house, Llanberis lake and Snowdonia mountain range which are popular places to visit. (The pictures are not views from the house but are not far away). I have provided everything you will need, such as a good internet connection, washer-dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, smart TV, fresh bedding, mirrors in both bedrooms and plenty of towels, to ensure you have a comfortable stay. My house can sleep a maximum of 5 guests as both bedrooms have double beds and there is single futon bed available. I have put much time, love and care in to my house which I hope will make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The house is located in Cwm Y Glo which a small quiet village. It is an end terrace bungalow so please be aware of neighbours. It isn’t far from beautiful landscapes and activities for adults and children. The village has a small bakery, a little gallery and a petrol station. Up from the village there is also a small castle. Llanberis is a must which is approx 2 miles away and of course snowdonia mountain range isn’t far! Pen Y Pass is approx 15/20 minute drive away, it is a lovely drive taking you through beautiful scenery.

Set on the Glyder mountain range, opposite Snowdon , 'Myn Mawr' is the ultimate getaway from 21st century living. It is a completely unique 18th century cottage, so please read the listing carefully and fully before booking. With unparalleled dramatic mountain views, this little cottage has been subject of poetry and has been painted in watercolor by the British artist David Bellamy for his exhibition 'Wild Wales'.
The cottage is ancient and offers guests the chance to 'step back in time . Please read this listing FULLY before asking to book for Myn Mawr is totally unique and, is also our home. This is the true ethos of Airbnb. There is no chintz and the cottage is basic and unspoilt and unaltered from the late 17th century. At any time, you will see wild goats, birds of prey circling overhead; the robin at the window of the crog loft bedroom. It is as though one actually becomes one with the mountain, yet the village of Llanberis is only 2.5 miles down the road, as it winds its way to the magnificent Llyn Padarn. The cottage is a traditional Welsh mountain cottage, approx. 250 years old, yet completely unspoiled. It has been the inspiration for numerous poets and artists, and was written about in the acclaimed novel 'I Bought a Mountain'. It is a place of unparalleled beauty and complete tranquility. The British 1953 Everest Expedition trained in the area and were based less than half a mile from the cottage at The Pen-y-Gwyrd which is at the Eastern end of the Llanberis Pass. Living room with wood burner, kitchen, basic bathroom facilities, double crog loft bedroom, garden, mountains, river & waterfall to the rear of the cottage. You will have the cottage all to yourselves, and we trust you will respect it, and be as happy during your visit as we are when we come home for our visits! It is the most beautiful experience and we never ever tire of the sheer beauty and ancient magic the mountains exude. Even when it rains, it is cosy and delightful. The cottage is clean but can be a little dusty, due to its positioning on the mountain. It is not 'squeaky clean' - It is a home and has a lovely authentic ambience so please bear this in mind when booking. It is not a sterile bed & breakfast. It is utterly unique. Please note: Towels are NOT provided. We will exchange telephone numbers & email to ensure guests have all they need. A friend does the housekeeping and is only minutes away if needed. You will have complete privacy during your stay. Please note that Myn Mawr is listed on other sites and when not occupied by AirBnB guests, either ourselves or other guests will be staying there. Lovely little village pub with open fires, folk music nights & great food just 5 minutes walk, yet the atmosphere at the cottage is one of complete tranquility; astonishing beauty and a true sense of peace. At night the soothing sound of the river will lull you to sleep. Perfect for romantic weekends, hiking, climbing or chilling out. Truly, an idyllic little cottage set in the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. A car is essential. The Snowdon Sherpa runs from the bus stop at the bottom but a car is better. There is a drivable track all the way to the cottage. It is wise to walk the track first before driving as it can be narrow in parts. One can walk or drive up the path. Its up to you! Walking is the best way to truly appreciate the sublime savage beauty of the area. Countless rivulets of mountain springs will refresh you along the way, wherever you choose to wander. • We had a fabulous stay in the cottage. Views were spectacular and it was lovely to stay in such an unspoilt place - but slippers are a must at this time of year. Great walks all around and easy to day trip from here too.

  • Absolutely loved this cottage! It is a magical place! The weather was quite cold and extremely windy when we went but Jacky's description of the cottage had prepared us. If you go in winter months you need to accept that you're going to get cold! Building the fire is part of the fun! If it's been particularly damp I'd advise taking some dry newspaper with you to help start the fire. There's plenty to do in the area especially if you like walking. Lake Padarn has some easy to follow routes. And of course snowdon if the weather is with you. We had an excellent weekend and I hope we can return again soon.

  • Such a spiritual place. I painted for the first time in 15 years. Hard to explain the beauty of this little nest. Felt truly lovely.

    Brett2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of those picturesque cottages that you drive past and say “wouldn’t it be nice to live there” well we did for 3 days and it’s was so peaceful and lovely

    Liza2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is complete tranquility in rural countryside. We loved that it was remote and quiet and even saw a meteor shower. The road is liable to flooding in heavy rain but nothing to worry about just have supplies. There is a little pub about 10mins walk with real ales. The best part is you can walk everywhere from the place if you don't want to use your car. It can be a bit cold and damp but get the fire going and it will not only warm you up but it will dry out your clothes if it's a wet day. Would definitely recommend.

  • Thank you Jacky for a great stay we had a the best time! The cottage is full of character and really cosy when the fire was lit. The views are amazing and we will definitely recommend our friends to stay and would like to come back in the summer 😀

  • This was a very pleasant stay all round. Firstly communication was very good throughout, from booking until when we left. Jonny was really friendly and made us feel very welcome straight away. The room was perfect for what we needed and we had access of the kitchen and lounge which was lovely, as well as a variety of books and maps to help us. The location is in a beautiful spot, very quiet and scenic and just a short drive to the local town and to the foot of mount snowdon. Very good value for money and the perfect spot for exploring the area or trekking up the mountain. Thank you both. Nick & Ben

Jocelyn even left a few toys out for our little one to play with and there where doggy treats in the cupboard for our pooch too! Super place, in a super location - definitely worth a visit!

  • We were a little unlucky with the weather during our stay which made us all the more grateful to come home to warm and cozy Bwthyn Darlyn every evening. It's comfortable and well equipped, just what we needed. Thank you very much!

  • We had a lovely stay. Amazing location, host was very helpful and really dog friendly! Really warm and cosy too, even in Snowdonia in January!

    Timothy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time bringing in the new year in this lovely place. The stay was comfortable, relaxing and definitely needed. We had access to everything that we could need (kitchen, bathroom etc) and the local supermarket isn't too far away. Jocelyn and her family are lovely, and our dog enjoyed meeting their dog. Location wise, it's not too tricky to find, just takes a little concentration with the turns etc. We would highly recommend this place! And suggest a trip to Cwm Idwal - a great spot for dog walking and exploring the countryside.

    Ashleigh2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great location situated within a short drive from the best Snowdonia has to offer. Especially good if you’re heading for the Ogwen Valley or Llanberis Pass. The cottage is pot on for two people with a very well equipped space and welcome touches. Our hosts were super friendly, communicative and let us be while being on hand. The cottage was spotless when we arrived, and getting in and out a breeze. We arrived at dusk and did have to keep a keen eye out for the address. This is one of the best value rentals in one of the best mountain locations we’ve found so far. Epic!
