Places to stay in Chapeltown
I live close to both train and bus stops. The train runs twice an hour and is 6 mins to Meadowhall 12 to Sheffield. The bus runs every 10 mins and takes about 30 mins. I am 10 mins from Motorway. The room is a guestroom. I am retired. Access to my property is down the side of number 4. I am near Asda .There are several places to eat 5 mins walk away. Tankersley Manor Hotel There parking on the street and I have WIFI
My place is a stone cottage slightly hidden. My main entrance is around the back. The cottage is small but comfortable.
The neighbourhood is quiet with lots of places to eat. There is a large Asda for any shopping. Sussex Road is a small Road and is used as a through fare at peak times but there is usually plenty of car parking available.
  • Lovely host and the place to stay !

  • Ann's home is cosy, warm and just whats needed when travelling as much as I do. Ann is chatty and friendly and by the end of a lovely evening I slept superbly, which is rarely the case. The facilities in the home are excellent, spotlessly clean and comfy. I would definitely stay again.

  • It’s a great place. Ann is an amazing host. The place is clean and cozy. Very close to the train station and town, where there are shops. I definitely recommend it this place.

  • The cottage offers excellent accommodation and facilities, we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay

    John2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Annie’s Place was fabulous, so clean, peaceful, spacious and well equipped. We felt very welcome and cosy. The bed is exceptionally luxurious and comfortable, towels and bed linen very fresh and thoughtfully presented. We enjoyed a few hours of sitting out in the conservatory in the evening, which was an added bonus. Annie was the perfect hostess, accommodating and helpful. A great stay for us!

    Ruth2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a very happy and delightful 3 days staying here. Everything in the accommodation is of high/good quality, spotlessly clean, and spacious. A comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, and generally well laid out. We particularly liked the location, which was very handy for the places we wanted to visit, and eating breakfast whilst watching the woodpecker was the icing on the cake! Access to the property from the main road (which is very busy) was a little tricky at first but we found it okay after the first time.

    Norma2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Fernbank House Suite. The place was spacious and clean and ideal for us, as we wanted to visit Sheffield and the surrounding area whilst catching up with friends. Would highly recommend staying here.

  • We stayed for a couple of nights along with our dog Archie. Fern Bank is an ideal spot for enjoying countryside walks, pubs and villages but is within easy distance of Sheffield. Spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly need. A real home from home. Thanks Ann & Bob xx

  • The guest house is a private and quiet retreat. The description on the website is accurate. The accommodation was warm (we went in December) clean and cosy. It was also remarkably quiet. We parked our car in the one described and it was very convenient. Peter was quick to respond to our queries and very helpful.

    Jenny2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was perfect for our stay! Very cute & easy access! Thank you for having us.

    Zahra2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience of staying in an AirBnB and I must say it was a lovely one. The check in process was simple and straightforward, Peter was excellent in communication, and any of my needs were seen to immediately. The cottage is in the back garden of their house with a large and secure locked gate in between, so security is fantastic. There is plenty of free car parking around and it is quite secure. The area itself is a nice one and everyone is very friendly. The cottage, though small, is more than enough for one person for a short stay. The whole place was spotless on my arrival and I endeavoured to leave it this way on my check-out. Bathroom is modern and the shower was amazing, just what I needed after a tough day at work! Lovely fresh linen, plenty of soft towels and floor mats as well. Heating was slightly erratic during my stay but this can be remotely fixed by the hosts. Literally the only downside to this place was the WiFi which was extremely slow and in most of the cottage barely one bar of signal was available. As there is no TV, I tried to stream programmes via my laptop but this was almost impossible due to the slow WiFi speeds. If this could be upgraded, then this cottage would be absolutely ideal. Due to the surrounding trees, mobile signal isn’t the best, but you usually manage to make calls fairly easily. Overall, a pleasant experience and would stay again (if the WiFi was sorted!)

    Hammad2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely guest house. Nice quiet private space with plenty of room. Great value for money. Peter was very attentive to communication and was quick to help with our needs. Would definitely rebook.

  • Very well equipped apartment, no complaints at all, 5 star

    Azim2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely flat and was perfect for our weekend stay! However, the double bed is slightly on the small side so was hard for 2 adults to share it. Also the living room would benefit from curtains or blinds for anyone who sleeps on the sofa bed. It was a perfect location for a balance of countryside and easy access to Sheffield town centre.

    Rachel2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A truly lovely flat in the beautiful village of Oughtibridge. Perfect for easy access to the M1 and down into Hillsborough and onwards into the city. We will most definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.

Welcome to your own space in our home. Situated at the top of our 19th century stone cottage, your accommodation comprises of a spacious double bedroom & adjacent lounge. We provide all you need for a comfortable night in a home away from home. We respect that guests enjoy their privacy and the upstairs lounge room provides you with space to relax, watch TV or to work/study. You will have shared use of the bathroom and kitchen and occasional use of the garden.
Access to your room is up two flights of stairs. The bathroom is on the first floor at the bottom of the stairs that lead up to your rooms. Your rooms are in the attic space with old beams and a pitched roof type ceiling, the ceiling is low 180cm at its highest point, it’s quirky but you have to remember to mind your head - it’s not a big deal but something to be aware of. You will have access to Netflix etc from the TV in your lounge room as well as tea and coffee facilities, toaster and small fridge. Additional refreshments are available to purchase.
Our village located 15 - 20 minutes from the edge of the peak district national park with access to attractions such as Chatsworth House less than an hour away. Sheffield City Centre and the Meadowhall Shopping Centre are approximately 5 miles as is access to the M1. Leeds is approximately 45 minutes by car. We have a local shop on our street and there are several pubs within walking distance, most of which serve food. The Pheasant in Oughtibridge is by far the best but the Shoulder of mutton in Worral is also recommended.
  • Very comfortable accommodation with a splendid breakfast in a lovely village location. Very flexible about my rather late arrival time. Thank you for a very relaxing time!

Take a special break away in a quaint, cosy cottage and take stroll in the picturesque grounds that make up the historical Wortley Hall estate. Set in the 26 acres of formal grounds and woodland of Wortley Hall our cottage offers the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. Guests can use the restaurant and bar inside the hall or just pop in for an afternoon tea.
Set in the old stable yard of the main hall this stone built cottage has been refurbished to provide comfortable self-catering accommodation. It has retained many of its original features and is full of charm and character. Garvins Cottage has 3 bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x small double (3/4 bed) and 1 x bunk bed. It also has a bathroom with bath and shower, fitted kitchen with washing machine & dishwasher, fridge/freezer, dining room and cosy lounge. The bedrooms and bathroom are only accessible by stairs. There is also a garden and outdoor seating area plus parking. No dogs are allowed in Garvins Cottage. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Garvins Cottage is located on the edge of the traditional village of Wortley just a few miles north of Sheffield. We are based on the edge of the Peak District, but are also only a short distance from the M1 with links to Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds.
  • Amazing location and was a perfect size for our party (4 adults and 1 infant) - very spacious living areas. Had all the amenities we needed and the Wortley Hall bar and local farm shop a short walk away came in very handy! Thank you!

    Nico2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lauren's cottage was fabulous. It was really spacious and clean. Towels and other amenities were provided, together with local walks and historixal information. The location was wonderful, no problems with car parking and lovely views from the kitchen window. A pretty garden was available, but far too cold to enjoy in a November visit, but we did have the advantage of being on the doorstop for the Wortley Hall Christmas Market. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Caroline2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing home, very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful grounds. Lovely and clean. A novel layout, which our girls particularly enjoyed exploring.

    Kelly2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Garvin's Cottage sits in the grounds of the graceful Wortley Hall, in the village of Wortley and was the perfect spot to base ourselves to see some of South/West Yorkshire's many places of interest. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Chatsworth are within 30 minutes to an hour's drive as is the beautiful landscape of the Peak District Park and the sights and sounds of major cities Sheffield and Leeds. There were also some fascinating local visits like Worsbrough flour mill, where you can buy stoneground flour as it's been done for centuries, just 20 mins away. The cottage is part of a larger complex of old stone outbuildings and has been restored to provide all modern comforts. It is spacious, cosy and welcoming. There was ample room for 4 people without ever feeling that you were getting on top of each other! The kitchen is fully equipped and we appreciated the kind touch of a welcome basket of bread, cereal and jams on arrival. It was also great to be able to sit in the garden of the cottage on sunny afternoons. There were lots of areas to walk in the grounds and in the cottage, it was always peaceful. We were struck by the amount of local community activity at the Hall, including a summer fair, and it was lovely to be able to experience this. We ate at the Ruddy Duck restaurant on site and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious local lamb and innovative desserts. There is a farm shop and village shop nearby where we got mouthwatering picnic provisions for our outings including fantastic pies, butter and bacon, and home baked cakes. We would highly recommend a stay. It ticks all boxes - comfort, value, location and local experience. Many thanks!

    Heather2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a great area, perfect location to explore this wonderful part of the world. Accommodation was clean, well kept and spacious. Would definitely return when next visiting the area.

  • Fantastic place! Would love to stay again.

    Lee2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was clean and tidy, very comfy beds. Good shower. Note the toilet/washroom and bedrooms are upstairs; fairly steep stairs so take care if you have small kids. Good solid table for eating at - though we ate at the Hall and nearby Wortley Arms also. Lovely to stroll around the Hall and gardens; also an easy to walk up to the village shops & farmers store. We came for the Peaks walking and was easy to drive to the north part of the Peaks from here. A very short drive away there is a small retail park with kid-friendly restaurants and shops ('Fox Valley'). We had an unexpectedly good meal at Ponti's Italian restaurant there.

    Richard2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous cottage with great equipped kitchen, homely feel and very spacious! Much bigger than we expected! Children loved it, very safe and comfy beds! Brilliant location for attending a wedding at Wortley Hall next door. We can recommend the tea room in Wortley for a great breakfast. Thank you Lauren.

Wortley Cottage Guest House is in the centre of Wortley, Sheffield. The building dates from the 18th Century and was originally the main farm in the village serving Wortley Hall, the ancestral home of the Earl of Wharncliffe. We have three guest rooms in our family home, all en-suite, two Double rooms and one large Twin/Double room.
The Wortley Double Bedroom, is at the back of the building overlooking Wortley Farm Shop. It has a private en-suite shower room. All our rooms have tea & coffee making facilities. Guests also have access to a shared fridge, with fresh milk and bottled water. We no longer accept AIRBNB bookings for PETS, due to bad experiences.
Wortley is a small village - we still have a Pub, The Wortley Arms, Village Club (Wortley Men’s Club), Countess Tea Room, Farm Shop and Post Office & Village Shop. Wortley Hall is now a Hotel, Restaurant and Conference centre, with 26 acres of garden open to the Public. The Wortley Arms serves lunchtime & evening meals and we recommend guests book prior to arrival, especially Friday & Saturday evenings.

  • I cannot begin to express just how wonderful of a host Rowena was! not only was the place spotless and charming, it had a very comforting, warm and homey vibe. Not only that, but the breakfast was amazing! We miss our mornings there after we took off to the city. Rowena was also very kind and generous to go as far as driving us to a wedding venue close by. It’s difficult to get around when you don’t know the area and have no means of transportation. It really was a blessing. I would love staying at The Finkle Green again if given the chance!

  • We loved Finkle Green - Rowena was a brilliant and thoughtful host, and she and her husband served up a very tasty breakfast in the morning. The room was comfortable, with everything we needed, and the location was ideal - walking distance to the village of Wortley, and surrounded by stunning views. Would highly recommend it!

  • Gardeners Cottage was really well presented, very clean and tidy with the perfect balance of character and modern touches. The shower in the en-suite was amazing! The location is absolutely stunning and breakfast at Wortley Hall was excellent. We used it as a base whilst away for business in Sheffield and it was perfect, exceptionally quiet and staff at Wortley Hall were very helpful. Highly recommended and, good value for money.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gardeners Cottage. The place is modern yet traditionally built In wonderful courtyard near the Wortley Hall estate's gardens. The cottage is well equipped and offered everything we needed: great facilities, peace and quiet with well equipped kitchen allowing us to cook our own meals after a hard day's work. We and our breakfast at Wortley Hall and had a great hearty morning meal which set us well for the challenges of the days ahead. Enjoyed great Yorkshire hospitality with genuine smiles from every member of staff. Wonderful experience throughout We would be delighted to return again, which is fairly probable in the very near future.

  • This has to be the cleanest B&B I’ve ever stayed in. The room was excellent, the owners brilliant, great local knowledge, and the breakfast magnificent. Add in a lovely home and fantastic scenery and it adds up to the perfect break away.

  • This is a lovely Bed and Breakfast near Wortley village. It's very new and nicely furnished. Average sized room, double bed and a modern bathroom. Great views over the surrounding countryside. Its possible to walk to the village where there is a pub, cafe and other places which we didn't see. Rowena is a great host and she kindly even booked us a table at the pub. The breakfast is full English and expertly cooked by the chef.
