Could not recommend Minesh's place more! Great location, close to everything you need, nice private room with AC in a quiet neighbourhood with a cooked breakfast. His Mum and Dad were the true stars and highlight for us, offering heaps of information on places to eat, and just good honest conversation - they have many stories to tell! Minesh and his family were very welcoming hosts. We felt at home the minute we stepped in. The house is really beautiful as shown and the room has everything required from air conditioning to a bookshelf with some really amazing books and really nice decor. The location is also quite central, with many places around where you can grab a bite to eat. Even the food served is really delicious. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking at something in the city but also for something quiet and serene.

Shanthi is a great host and goes out of her way to make her guests feel comfortable. We will there during the cyclone and Shanthi offered us to sleep in her apartment as we had no electricity. She will provide local information and will help to make arrangements based on your needs. We wanted to be near the shopping place i.e. T Nagar and she is quite close to this area. Her cooking is wonderful as her helper, Bikki's cooking as well. I recommend staying at Shanthi's place if you are looking for a cosy home like environment.

Alfred's place was the perfect home during my time in Chennai. Alfred was responsive the entire time and ensured a smooth check-in and check-out. Any issues, such as my accidentally locking myself out of the flat, were quickly resolved by Alfred. He will be in touch and make sure your stay is comfortable. The place was clean, secure and, as it is not on a busy main road, pretty quiet. Amenities such as WiFi, a balcony to do laundry, drinking water were great to have. The place is a short walk to some good local restaurants and a short cab ride to the hotspots in T Nagar or Nungambakkam. I'd certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

The room looked great and splendid. The host Manish and his parents were genial and very welcoming. The room situates in the heart of the city, easy to travel. The room is filled with show pieces and books which I find very interesting. The area is very calm and pleasant.

Minesh's place is very well located and accessible to travellers both on work and leisure. The pros include - 1. Spacious bedroom with a large bathroom 2.Safe & Secure building 3.Delicious breakfast with compliments from the host 4.Pleasant & helpful hosts ( Minesh and his parents always being accessible and most of all so warm and friendly). 5.Central location with immediate access to transportation and well located to consulates and embassies. I felt the accommodation lacked - 1.Overall cleanliness of the room especially the bathroom and bedlinen. 2. The apartment does not have a power back up so incase there is a power cut during the day it can get uncomfortable. I barely spent time at the accommodation except for a few hrs during the day and the night over a period of 2 days.But the overall upkeep of the place would make this an excellent choice given that the rest of the features and comforts work well. Great place to stay

We were in chennai for four days for conference and chose to stay in minesh's home , after reading reviews in airbnb, the home, the stay and the experience, all were as good as we expected, the host recieved us in time, supported us on our late evening outings after a full day in conference, minesh and parents are such lovely people, i did read some negative reviews before, but all of them couldve been avoided by proper communication with the host, They are pure veg, so we kept our nonveg eating outside the hone, Cons: i found the pillow and bed a bid hard, (but of course individual prefrence varies), Minesh, uncle and aunty, we will defenitely be back in your hone soon

We recommend staying at Minesh's place for many reasons. The location is excellent: it is a residential area and there are two very good restaurants nearby. The shops are also not far away by tuk tuk. The room was spacious with a dressing room off and the ensuite was modern. But overwhelmingly Minesh and his parents were so hospitable and kind. They made us feel very welcome. Minesha's father is really chatty and a great character, full of warmth. Minesh himself was able to help in so many ways, for example ordering an OLA (Indian Uber) when we needed a driver for the long trip to Pondicherry. We wanted to visit a world heritage site en route and Minesh fixed this for us too. He's a very interesting person, having studied in the States and travelled widely. We got talking about Indian architectural style and many other fascinating topics and could have talked all day! It was lovely meeting the whole family. This is the best kind of airbnb if you want to meet people and experience a different lifestyle. We loved the authenticity of our stay.

This was my first at airbnb and I was a little skeptical and apprehensive about the stay but that vanished the moment I met Ms.Shanthi Pattu, who made me feel like home. A very caring and a hospitable person who ensures that you are important than anything else. The place was just like it was described; it was well-maintained and very clean. The place is pretty accessible as well. I must also say that the food they served was very delicious and makes you forget the phrase 'No taste like him'. Not to mention their caretaker who made sure that my stay was comfortable and safe. I would highly recommend this place to anyone particularly solo woman travellers.

Shanti has been very helpful to me. I felt like home when I stayed there. And if I don't feel like going out, she or Bicky the house assistant can cook me fresh Indian food which taste so good. The thing I like about Shanti's food is the freshness of the food. If I ordered chicken Tikka for dinner, she'll buy the chicken at 5pm and prepare the food. That's how fresh the food. Bicky, the house assistant has been very help to me as well. He made a nice filtered coffee, and I always ask Bicky to get some stuffs for me. He's very nice and helpful person. So, if next time I have thing to do in Chennai, Shanti' s place definitely to go. Thanks Shanti, thanks Bicky.

Shade Point is super clean and Shanthi is an excellent host. She is very responsive & helpful, plus an excellent cook. After my previous plans fell through, I sent a same-day booking request at 7:30pm... she replied in just 15-minutes! Her breakfast was the best one I had in 1.5 weeks in Chennai, and her pepper chicken was awesome too. When arriving (at 10pm!) and departing, she was so kind to wait for me and speak to the taxi drivers directly to make sure they knew where to take me. Taxi drivers don't really speak English here and Chennai is a big city, so having a local explain your destination is so important! Last but not least, Shade Point provides free filtered water which saves you from buying bottled water over & over again (something you have to do at hotels). Will definitely be visiting Shanthi again on my next trip to Chennai and hopefully staying longer then. :) TIP: Make sure your taxi approaches from Dr. Ambedkar Rd. Shade Point will be the yellow-gated house on the right on the 1st block.

Shanthi is a wonderful sweet woman. She did everything under her control to make my stay comfortable in Chennai. From giving directions to the auto drivers to booking transportation for me and making amazing breakfast. Also, the care taker, Biki, was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very good and comfortable stay and really worth the money.

She is so kind and helpful. I had really good time staying at the SHADE POIND. The food was delicious and I could learn South Indian home-cooking curry from her. Room is cleaned every day by very trustful and diligent house keeper. Though he could speak little English, it covers all by his hard-working. The host, Shanthi, lives on the second floor of the building, so you can call her anytime and she is here to help right away. She also took me out for shopping and arranged me a Yoga studio very near by. You can really enjoy the Chennai local life with safe, and comfortable environment. I can't thank enough to Shanthi for all of her mindfulness!

From the moment I booked on Airbnb I was a little sceptical, as I had a bad experience previously on my trip to Australia, the place I had booked was not as I expected. So booking for the 1st time in India made me even more sceptical. This was kind of a last minute booking as my mother didn't have a clear plan of out Chennai iteniary. I booked this place because it was a 2 bed 2 bathroom apartment so I would have my own room &bathroom. When we arrived the caretaker lady showed us to the apartment which can you believe for total of 3 flats in the building has a lift. This made light work of getting all the luggage upstairs to Mr Jayakumars flat which was on the 2nd floor. He was very prompt and concise with his communication via email prior to the arrival and post arrival even if he was in california. The apartment itself is very spacious with a main hall then a diner come lounge a spacious kitchen with separate utility area for the use of his washing machine and to dry clothes which is very important as you get very sweaty so will need to wash your clothes. Then you have 2 spacious bedrooms with attached bathrooms with water heaters so if like us you are used to bathing in hot water you won't be caught short. Front bedroom comes with a balcony which is also nice addition. The lounge has a nice flat screen TV with usual tamil channels but we are most of the day so this is only used once we are back when we unwind foe the evening. WiFi is present and good connectivity in the communal areas but once you are in the bedrooms it's a bit hit and miss I think it a few WiFi repeaters would solve this for the future and I am sure Mr Jayakumar will address on his arrival back to chennai. All in all was a pleasant stay, very peaceful but not totally noise free as we are in chennai and the usual hustle and bustle will always be there. An auto ride away from main T nagar panangal park area fares vary from 60 to 80 INR depending on the driver and your bare ring skills. Was a shame not to have met the owner and if I do come back this will be my first port of call, defiantly better than a hotel if you stay 1 week or more you can really relax and be free rather than be couped up in a small room. There is a few tea shops,a small corner shop for milk bread etc and a few eatery all within a few hundred meters from the apartment. This property is a credit to Airbnb Chennai.

This was our first stay using Airbnb and we had a very peasant ezperience. The apt extremely nice in a beautiful location with easy access to every thing. My stay at Nityasri apartments was comfortable. The environment was calm and the maid Lakshmi was very helpful. The place is close to T.Nagar and Nungbakkam do shopping was hazel free. I would definitely choose this place during my future visits.

Mr Jayakumar was an excellent host..saw to all our needs. His place was big spacious n clean...facilities provided were good . Though Mr Jayakumar was not there he had a caretaker to see to our little needs n to clean the the place. Will definitely come back here the next time I visit Chennai .

It was our first experience with Airbnb and our host was really perfect. He was not on the premises during our stay, but he made sure to do everything necessary so that we are perfectly welcome and make our stay comfortable in entrusting the hands of Lakshmi who lives on the ground floor and, despite the language barrier, was always available to help and ensure that we do not need anything, and Mr. Jayakumar itself was very responsive remote to answer our questions. The apartment is larger than the pictures, very clean, comfortable, no need to bring anything except irons we missed, but the host had warned us that there was a pressing confidence in front. The windows are fitted with mosquito nets. This is not my first trip to India but one that is the best accommodation I've been there. You can reach major shops T Nagar in less than 10 minutes. The property is easily accessible for INR 55-70 from T Nagar. Very good value for money, I highly recommend it. The only thing we could regret, it is the absence of a good restaurant nearby, within walking distance.

Mr. Jayakumar was a great host who provided me with flexible check-in/check-out options and his apartment has everything that you need during your stay - TV, refrigerator, two ACs, utensils for cooking and eating. The stay was very comfortable for my in-laws for whom I had booked the place. The apartment is in a residential colony opposite EM EL EM wedding complex in Mahalingapuram.

The apartment is very well located close to shops , restaurants and market places. There is a reliance fresh shop very close where all groceries and household goods are available. The two bedrooms are air conditioned and there is a large hall and a balcony. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped with fridge, microwave and has hob along with basic utensils. Very comfortable stay for a small family Alfred is a very warm host who goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable. Will definitely revisit

Note from Abhiram who stayed at their place - Loved the short stay with The Nathan's. The hosts are friendly and make you feel at home. Their house is located in a prime, posh and one of the cleaner areas of Chennai. Cabs are easily available from this place to travel around making it well connected with the rest of the city. I'm not really fond of dogs but Fluke (their German Shepherd) was friendly and harmless. The room and bathroom is better than as seen in the picture. Also though the place is centrally located, it is peaceful and calm. I would definitely recommend this place.

The place is the quintessential AIRbnb. The Nathan's were the perfect host .The warmth of a home yet the ambience of a high star hotel at an affordable price that too a pet friendly place in Chennai. Well appointed room in a posh locality in Central Chennai. Harrington road is one of the model roads of the city with beautiful walkways. It is a quiet area with only an occasional horn of the train passing at a distance. Fluke, the German Shepherd was a great buddy to our dog. The area has few eateries, you would have to order food for lunch and dinner. You get home made breakfast.Would love to visit them again.

Her house is located in one of the best localities, I should say one the cleanest location I have ever seen in Chennai. About the Room Very clean, every requirement is taken care really well. Bathroom is spotless, love the rain shower. Breakfast Crispy dosa, it was yummy Overall Experience Couple are firndly & will always make sure you feel at home.

Absolutely loved the short & very pleasant homely stay. It is located at a very nice neighbourhood (Harrington Road area) & easily accessible. The hosts are a very warm couple and the friendly dog was a sweet bonus. The room was clean & quiet. The breakfast was really nice and the small treat & chips kept in the room lent a special personal touch. The washroom was maintained well too.
