If you are planning on hiking / climbing the White Mountains, like I did for a week, this is a great place to make your home away from home. Dave is great. The other people who rented his bigger room, were all nice. It was fun getting to talk with all of them at the end of the day. Dave has two friendly cats, so if you like cats, you are set. Unless you stay in your tent (like I have about half of the time this last three months), you won't find a better deal than this tiny room, with a tiny price. If you want a room with a lot more space, rent his bigger room, which is also very little money per night, and is big enough for two people. Dave respects your desire for being left alone. If and when you would like to talk with someone, Dave is an instant friend, with great tales of his biking / hiking / and artwork. I hope to get back there someday...the sooner the better.

I stayed at Dave's place for 2 nights, he is very cool. Apart from being remote without cell phone signals for my network & weak wifi,no complains about the stay. It was very very economical too.

Prefect off the grid cabin! Excellent to relax and watch the stars .

Daniel's cabin was the perfect place to get away and relax for the weekend. It is very secluded with a deck with beautiful views, lots of land, and a big fire pit. The generator is simple to use, but we only chose to use it for a few hours. We had a great time playing games and cards by candlelight. Communication with Daniel was great and he was flexible when we hit traffic and had to check in later than expected. Would definitely recommend this place!

Daniel's cabin was exactly what I was looking for- totally secluded, quiet, with accessibility to outdoor activities in the White Mountains. The property is gorgeous and the cabin has a large deck with a view of the mountains. There is a trail into the woods on the property with tons of blackberry bushes (which made for some delicious pancakes). Right by the cabin is a pretty big fire pit with a pile of logs- we built a really nice campfire and ate smores while star gazing. When we first arrived the groundskeeper, Shane, gave us a dozen fresh eggs from his farm and showed us up to the cabin and how to use the generator (which was straightforward- just the flip of a switch, and we had no problems- just had to flip the switch a couple of times to turn it on). The water heated up very quickly and we only used the generator for showering purposes. There were some candles and little lanterns provided, although we also brought our headlamps which came in handy for building the fire at night (there were fire starters in the cabinet in the bathroom on the main floor). Shane made it clear that he would be available if we needed anything or had any questions- he was so nice! This cabin is off the grid, meaning that electricity is limited or non existent- this cabin, however, gave us the option for still having all the regular amenities and the use of space is very comfortable. The cabin is bright and open and the bed was comfortable (we slept like rocks after a long day of hiking). We highly recommend hiking Mount Lafayette for some amazing ridge views and heading over to Schilling Beer Co after for a wide selection of craft beer. Our favorite part of the weekend getaway was playing cards for hours on the deck overlooking the mountains to the south, and stargazing at night. Thank you so much Daniel for sharing your cabin with us! My boyfriend and I had such a relaxing weekend away from the city without the annoyances of our work (limited cell service, Verizon worked better than AT&T).

A very nice lake side cottage on a beautiful setting.

We had a wonderful weekend away at the cabin! We loved swimming and canoeing on the lake. Our dog loved it as well and it was nice to have a dog-friendly place to take her! I would love to spend more time here to take better advantage of the fire pit and barbecuing. Also, the inside of the cabin is beautiful and well cared for. It is also stocked with everything you could need for cooking. Finally, Kimberly responded immediately to all of our questions and was really helpful!!

Great location. Kimberly has an excellent description of the area and everything you might need. The house is small but clean. Towels and linnens were fresh. All appliances were all in working conditions. The complex of cottages is small. Sharing the fire pit outside was fun. Beautiful sunset on the lake. I ised the trip for a two day hiking on the Whites Mountains. Perfect location. The place is ultra quiet at night. Pleasant sleep. Overall was a good experience and I will rent the cottage again.

The cottage was great and just as described. Quaint, quiet and on a lovely and relaxing property with several other cabins on a beautiful and quiet lake. Kimberly's place was so peaceful and beautiful! Be aware that you'll need to bring napkins and paper towels and shampoo/soap but otherwise the place was fully equipped, spotless, and very cute and cozy. Loved sitting by the lake in the morning listening to the loons and sipping coffee :).

We called this apartment home for 12 weeks. Over the course of our stay Pamela was very attentive and quickly addressed any and all of our concerns. She made a great effort to accommodate us, not always an easy thing because we traveled with two very energetic dogs. The apartment felt safe and the neighbors were all very friendly. The apartment had everything we needed for our long stay. We would certainly stay in Pamela's apartment again and would recommend it to anyone looking in Whitefield.

We had a great weekend at The Moose House!! The house was perfectly located for our trip to Santa's Village - a very pretty 18 minute drive. The house had everything we needed - lots of pans to cook, a nice grill, basically anything you would want. It was very clean & welcoming! It was close to town with a grocery store, a dunkin' donuts and an ice cream spot. Scott was a great host - super responsive and very friendly! We hope to go back and stay again next year!

This is a wonderful place for a trip at any time of year. Nice home with three levels to spread out, with beautiful views across the valley and mountains. Good beds in the 3 bedrooms, especially the master BR. Home is close to a lot of outdoor destinations and also grocery, pizza, etc pretty nearby so convenient for getting food. Heads up on a couple things: kitchen not well equipped w pots/pans etc for cooking group meals, but we made do. Also pullout couch on bottom floor needs replacement- not comfortable for sleeping. Otherwise a fantastic spot and we will be returning!

A beautiful, rustic Vermont camp! Pretty stone walls edge the waterfront with natural stone steps down into the water. The swimming area boasts a nice sandy, gravel bottom with no rocks or weeds, and a gradual drop-off. Water was chilly but MUCH warmer than ocean temps at NH beaches! The camp itself looks made from old, reclaimed barn wood. The logs and beams added much rustic charm, as did the many knick-knacks and comfy vintage furniture (LOVE the antique double hand-saw and the ice crampons!) The beds were freshly made and comfy with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The kitchen was well stocked as well with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. We spent a week and we're very comfortable and enjoyed our vacation immensely! It was also a great value!

Perfect place to rest, listen to loons and read. Spent one day hiking at Weeks State Park across the river in New Hampshire. Bugs were pretty voracious. The cabin is very well equipped for meal preparation and was warm and cozy.

Highly recommend Dave's place for anyone looking for a neat place to stay. The place is inside an art gallery where Dave displays all of his artwork and art supplies. He also offered us a beer when we got there and coffee in the morning! What a guy. Fabulous experience and would definitely stay again when I am in town.

It was so comftable to be at Daves flat! To have a galerie in the flat is interesting and nice, and Dave was so helpful and friendly: of course we want to be there again!

Dave offered us a very nice and clean private room in his flat. He was very friendly and provided us with all the information we needed.

Dave is a great guy and very knowledgeable about the area in the White Mountains. He even lend us his AMC trail book to help us better plan our hikes. The room was large enough and comfortable. Although it was a shared bath we never had an issue. Dave opens up his living room and the kitchen for full use and is extremely accommodating and gracious. His home is a perfect location to explore the White Mountains. Although Whitefield is a small and quaint town you have easy access to Littleton and even Lancaster for more restaurant choices. Dave allowed us to store food and drinks in his fridge and freezer which was super helpful for four days in the mountains! I would highly recommend Dave's place and we will definitely be staying with him again when traveling to this area!

We had a really nice stay in this charming house on Forest Lake. We toured the lake in the canoe and later went for a swim. The house is about a fifteen minute drive to either Bethlehem or Littleton where there are plenty of shops and restaurants, thirty minutes to outdoors activities. Jo Beth gave us plenty of tips on where to eat and hike and let us borrow one of her maps for our trip to Lonesome Lake near Cannon Mountain. Plus she provided plenty of breakfast. Can't wait to go back!

This house was beautiful. The views were amazing, and the house was very clean and cozy. Jo Beth was very informative about the trails in the area and very down to earth. She went above and beyond to host us, providing us with awesome breakfast food and good conversation. I have never slept better in my life in the bed, and the shower did me well after a long hike. The lake was very peaceful, and the mountain view was so cool to see! Her cat and dog were adorable and very well mannered! I highly recommend this for an airbnb. My friend and I enjoyed our stay and might come back over the summer!

The lake view is phenomenal. We loved it. It's a very quiet quiet spot and it's perfect for a retreat. Jobeth has an old dog and a cat, but the room, the bathroom, were meticulously clean. So was the kitchen, but Mica's food was there, so she was in there too at times. Yoga in the porch facing the lake, and meditating on the kayak in the middle of the lake is spectacular. Make sure you are there during sunset. Even though the sunset will be behind you, the sky (hopefully there are some clouds too) across the lake becomes red and everything gets reflected in water. Great scenery. Also, for the ones that are not aware, like we were not, there are loons in the lake, and they are not wolves, so do not get scared, but enjoy their calling. (URL HIDDEN)

Jo Beth is one the best hosts I have ever experienced and the accommodations were perfect. She provided much information about the local area! Check-in was a breeze, the space was wonderful and accommodating! I would recommend this location to anyone that wants prime access to everything New Hampshire has to offer! I enjoyed a summer swim and kayak off the dock!

A very special location, the view was fantastic. The house was very spacious, we had 7 adults and we were very comfortable. Plenty of room outdoors for kids to run around. The nights were star filled and very quiet. We came from North Carolina, if it weren't so far, we would go back again and again.

Great stay! You'll find everything you need in this beautiful modern home with a view. We loved the proximity to state parks. We had an amazing relaxing time enjoying this space including the outdoor fire pit and deck. Susan was a great host, thoughtful in the timing of her communication - even checking in on us by email midway to see if we needed anything. We stayed in the summer but can see this being a great spot for the winter with proximity to skiing. Highly recommend this home!

Susan's place is a haven in the White Mountains. It was designed with great care and brings in the surrounding natural environment in a lovely way. It was well-stocked and clean. Susan was a responsive host. We were a family of four and had a great time staying there. We recommend it to others.

Susan was very courteous, she answered all our questions and told us things to do around the area, the house is exactly as described, the space is really beautiful and the view is really nice from inside and outside the house, even nicer than the pictures. For the wifi hungry people make sure you have another alternative. Everything you need you can find at the grocery store 5 minutes away. And remember to bring your linen and towels cause I didn't read the house manual properly.

My fiancé and I decided on a spur of the moment hiking trip. I contacted Rebekah the day we wanted to spend the night, and she contacted me within 2 hours, and our reservation was booked. Her home was immaculate, the grounds were relaxing and beautiful. There was a kayak to use for recreation (we used for fishing and caught a couple trout and perch)! There was a firepit for use as well. Only 15-20 minutes from the mountains we wanted to hike. Overall a great stay! We would stay here again.

Rebekah was very friendly and helpful when we arrived. The property had all the amenities including a canoe and was also dog friendly which is a huge plus. My dog didn't want to go home at the end of our trip.

Beautiful grounds and cute cabin style house. The lake was gorgeous with the fall foliage and we had fun taking the canoe out. Love that it was pet friendly as well, my pooch had a great time romping around the huge yard!

We had a lovely stay with our two dogs at Rebekah's lakeside home. Our hosts were very friendly & hospitable. The setting is beautiful, with loons on the lake, a meadow full of fireflies, and a babbling brook next to the house. The home & property were immaculate, including a great kitchen with all the cooking amenities we needed. There was also a sturdy canoe for our use that was great for exploring the lake. We would absolutely recommend staying here & look forward to future visits.

Place was perfect!

We were 3 adults and 3 small children on a quick trip to Santa's Village, and this was the perfect location for us! As a bunch of "city kids" we all audibly gasped I think when we pulled up to the property and saw that lake view! Photos don't even do it justice. House was the perfect size/bedroom configuration for our group, and my kids were so psyched about the bunk beds. The hosts were super quick to respond to the couple questions/issues we had and were very friendly and helpful. 15 min drive to Santa's Village and a great yard and lake for the kids to play in after, and the adults to relax by at night- couldn't ask for more. Loved the paddleboat too. We hope to stay there again sometime!

The apartment itself was clean and comfortable – it had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. Communication was great, and check-in/check-out was a breeze. This place was amazing! Brody was there right at check in to show us around the apartment and the property. The pictures really didn't do the size of the apartment justice. Large, updated rooms with everything you could need. Just off of the private deck is a field with a fire pit and pond. Super pretty! The location was close to great hiking. Both the humans and the pups had a blast here! Wish we were able to stay longer, we will definitely be back.

An all around outstanding experience, we had more fun this last three-day weekend than in a week of vacation. We loved it and the kids loved it.

I stayed at this incredible and enchanting log palace with a group of friends for a weekend of outdoor adventures in the White Mountains. It was the perfect place to end the day with a big family dinner, festivities (we played a murder mystery game--it was a great setting), and enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. Susan was extremely easy to communicate with, and she makes sure you have everything you need. This was our second time staying here, and I'd readily come back for a third visit. Thank you, Susan!

The pictures don't do the Mountain Lodge justice. What a beautiful house with spectacular views over the White Mountains. The self-built house is a labor of love with countless unique touches. The house slept 13 comfortably and we spent the weekend cooking in the well-stocked kitchen and taking advantage of the nearby winter activities. A wonderful place to stay and use as a base to explore the White Mountain region.

We were first attracted to this location by the ad title, Lodge for Adventuresome Spirits. The photos looked so good, we booked it for a long weekend with 8 family members. The house looked better in person than in the pictures, as if that was even possible. We learned it was built by Susan's husband, a talented woodworker. The home is very spacious with great views and unique architecture. Some of the things we enjoyed were preparing family meals in the wonderful kitchen, relaxing in the large soaking tub, picking our room from the vast choice of bedrooms, retreating to one of the hammocks in the bedrooms, roasting marshmellows in the fireplace, having dinner parties outdoors, running around in the large garden, and playing pool. Wonderful spot, highly recommended.

The perfect winter family getaway! The house is beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. We loved the fireplaces and cozy atmosphere. Susan was great and it was kid friendly. They loved sledding. Adults enjoyed the quiet beauty away from everything. The driveway is steep and in the snow a bit difficult but they let us use their truck to get up and down and really we had no reason to leave. A really amazing find!

I wanted a special place to celebrate my 60th birthday with my siblings. This place was more than special, it was breathtaking. Everyone was awestruck by the beautiful home and location. We had a great time hanging out at the house eating, drinking and playing games. Susan was a great host…made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You’d be missing out if you didn’t experience this incredible work of art!!!

Our stay at Mt. Lodge exceeded all expectations. From receiving detailed driving directions before our arrival, greeting us upon arrival, allowing us to try some of their wonderful vegetables in the garden, always being available if we needed anything, to so kindly sending us off - Susan sustained a fabulous welcoming feeling and we can't wait to return. I can honestly also say that the pictures do not do this stunning property justice. It's better than you really think it can be. We had 12 adults and two small children, and none of us felt cramped or needing more space. There were plenty of linens, plates, cups, beds, etc. We cooked massive meals in the beautiful kitchen, and loved being able to use the cast iron. The windows in the kitchen are exceptional too. I should also mention that we actually changed our wedding venue to simply do it at the house on the outdoor patio at Mt. Lodge, because it is so strikingly beautiful. The views are breathtaking, and the house is surrounded in beautiful flowers, mosses, ferns and stones. By having both of our families under one roof, with plenty of space, such wonderful hosts, and a beautiful environment, our stay and wedding were spectacular. We are just so incredibly pleased. We really can't wait to return, hang out in one of the hammocks, enjoy the views, cook and just relax. You'll fall in love with this place too, and the hosts.
