Tres bel endroit au bout du monde, tres bon accueil et prise en charge pour tout nos souhaits

The place is a little towards the edge of the Mandapam town after the fishing village. Once you enter the property the calm and serene let you disconnect from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean and cozy. I think the place works best for group of travelers - we were on a group of 7 on motorcycle trip and this pace was perfect !

Marc was an excellent host. Made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to show us around this beautiful and remote location. The grounds were rustic but beautiful and had everything you could want, including peacocks and a sweet dog named Stumpy, who joined us one day on a long walk to Adams Bridge. Marc has done an amazing job building beautiful Cabanas with thatched roofs and keeping it all tastefully simple. We feel very lucky to have visited this island in its infancy as a tourist destination (we seemed to be the only tourists there!). Highly recommended!

Wir waren sehr neugierig auf unseren Besuch in Mannar bei Marc. Die Berichte über endlos viel Platz und ausgezeichnete Windbedingungen waren nicht übertrieben ! Das Camp selber ist noch in der Entwicklungsphase, aber wir waren auch vor dem "official" opening da. Die Bungalows sind ganz einfach, aber sauber und sehr luftig, so dass man auf bequemen Matrazen super schlafen kann. Man ist völlig ungestört und hat sehr viel Platz. Und ich liebe die Outdoor Showers unter freiem Himmel (aber man ist gut vor allen Blicken geschützt). Ein französisch/portugiesischer Chef bereitet tolles Essen zu, was an so einem abgelegenen Ort nicht selbstverständlich ist. Leider war er nicht bereit, uns ein paar seiner tollen Geheim-Rezepte zu verraten (vielleicht später mal...). Marc und sein Team kümmerten sich rund um die Uhr um uns. Er zeigte uns 2 tolle Spots zum Kiten + Windsurfen (es gibt noch mehr...). Für Anfänger ist das ein ideales Einsteigerrevier, da man endlos weit im Wasser stehen kann. An der Südseite gibt es auch Wellen. Wir waren nur sehr kurz da, aber wir kommen so bald wie möglich wieder.

I did not stay at this place. It was quite far from Mannar( 47Km) and did not look anything like the photograph. Roads were very bad with big pot holes. Repairs were going on for about 25Km of my journey. Host was contacted several times over the phone before arrival. Communications in English was very poor. On arrival Host was not present, inspite of my Driver / Guide spoke to him in the local language informing him of our arrival. Place was run down, and had local style toilets (not western)
