Places to stay in Eaton
Eclectic little apartment just a street away from Uptown Oxford, walking distance from Miami University, and right next to a bus stop. You’ll have the entire place to yourself—feel free to cook using the kitchen and appliances, or eat out in one of Oxford’s many restaurants. Johnny’s Campus Deli, an affordable little sandwich shop, is conveniently located across the street if you’re in need of a quick bite!
The entire space is available for your use excluding the storage closet between the kitchen and bathroom—I use to store boxes, and there’s not much room left inside.
The apartment is just a few blocks away from Uptown and a short walk from Miami University’s campus (about 15 minutes from all the major buildings). It’s far enough away that I’ve never had any concerns about noise, but centrally located in a way that makes all parts of Oxford easily accessible.
  • Darryn's place was in a great location if you're making a weekend trip to Miami U. Easy walk to all the High Street bars and restaurants and the value cant be beat. Great communication and super easy check in and check out instructions.

If you are looking for rest, peace, solitude you will find it here. Two queen. Beds. The best one in the sleeping loft. Access by ladder . We may be in the sticks but we now offer cable T V! • Sharon's place is warm, welcoming, and charming. Plan to enjoy gorgeous sunsets, mesmerizing night skies, delightful and friendly animals, and a kind host who goes above and beyond. The house is comfortable and private. We will be back!

  • Sharon’s place is in such a beautiful location. Her horse Nestle is so personable and made for such a unique and fun experience. The space itself is set up well and provides for a comfortable and relaxing stay! I would recommend this bnb to anyone looking in the area.

  • I enjoyed my return. Thank you!

    Jeff2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time on our trip! We loved hearing about the history of the building and seeing what a wonderful job Sharon did converting it to a cozy guesthouse! The rustic touches blend beautifully with the updated space. We especially loved the skylights and electric fireplace. The space was impressively clean! The space was also great for our dog. The kitchen makes efficient use of space: we managed to easily cook an entire thanksgiving meal there. We would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Peaceful country setting. Quiet and relaxing. Comfortable accomodations. Lots of charm. Surrounded by nature and beautiful country. I like the remoteness and love the tranquility. Great that the location welcomes dogs and our pups had a wonderful time.

  • Sharon is a great host. Super friendly to respond and provided great recommendations. Thank you.

    James2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying in the cottage, and we loved it all over again. It’s a great space, fitted out with everything you need, and the setting is very pleasant and tranquil. The horse and cats on the property are friendly and fun to hang out with. (There are also dogs, but we didn’t see as much of them.) Sharon is a nice and genial host, and quick to respond to any questions. It’s really a fine place to spend a few days.

    Dennis2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • So precious! Great as a little getaway from normal life, especially thanks to the quirky lofted bed and skylights. The electric fireplace was also wonderful for the cold snap!

  • Zella and Stephen’s cottage was fantastic! They were incredibly kind and welcoming. The cottage was very clean, and they even left goodies from their farm for us to try if we were hungry. We felt very much at home. We would definitely return!

  • The cottage is clean, quiet and very private. Steve and Zella are wonderful people. It was a pleasure to stay there.

  • I loved everything about this experience. This was first time using Airbnb and it was wonderful. So many great personal touches, so clean and comfortable! I could go on and on! Zella and Stephen thank you so much! I loved the eggs, jam and honey! I also loved the cAt and the dog! All so sweet!

  • Excellent hospitality, clean, cozy space.

    Laura2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage was so adorable — we loved the fairy lights and decorations. Steven and Zella were more than accommodating, providing us with homemade jam and honey, butter and bread, eggs and milk, fresh flowers, a tour of the farm — Steven even greeted us with a beer as we pulled in! 100% would return/recommend!

  • This was our second time staying here and it was wonderful. Cozy, clean, and warm. The futon was surprisingly very comfortable. The added bonus of fresh eggs, strawberry jam, cookies, and bread really made it perfect. We will definitely stay here again if our travels bring us through Ohio. Highly recommend!

Our cottage is close to antique shopping and Earlham College. Relax surrounded by trees and natural sounds. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Children are welcome!
The cottage is surrounded by seven acres of woods and meadows. We often see or hear a wide variety of wildlife. The cottage is the smaller of two houses. Our family with a dog and two cats live in the larger house at the end of the shared driveway.
  • Beautiful property

  • A great place to commune with nature and quiet peaceful private little cottage, Was impressed when I pull in the driveway this time and there was a deer waiting to greet me . Great Internet connection so you can be aware of what’s going on in the outside world. While there’s very little other than peace going on around outside. There is no TV and that is great ,you can just go online too see what you need to see.

  • Enjoyed our stay at this country cottage! Very quiet and restorative! Glad to recommend!

    Denny2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This space is really clean and welcoming and very spacious. Had everything we need.

    Sara2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at this cottage. We were away most of the day and evening and scarcely used the kitchen, but we appreciated the lovely, quiet location and the warm welcome from Annelies. Jim was very prompt and helpful in his communication with us prior to our visit. We would not hesitate to stay again.

    Anne2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great spacious place to place day. Surrounded by nature and the tranquility of being away from the city. I did not think I would do well without having a television but I was able to watch anything I wanted on my laptop or tablet thanks to the amazing speed of the Internet. Found lots of time for reading books and just enjoying nature. Will be staying there on my next return and all my returns back to Richmond my hometown.

    Tim2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's place is a very nice cozy cottage. Perfect for one or two. I was met when I pulled in by a very friendly dog who made me feel like I was just coming home from a two-month vacation. I enjoyed myself here and would recommend it to any traveler.

    Chris2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a sweet little cozy cottage! My 3-night stay here was just delightful! I came for an event in town, and if I'd had more time I would've enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds in nature that surround this cottage. Lovely, warm family too! You'll have as much privacy as you'd like (I was only able to see the hosts at my arrival and departure as I was gone during the days). I loved stretching out for morning yoga in the living room (which is quite spacious with a beautiful vaulted ceiling) and cooking a little breakfast for myself in the full size kitchen. I loved it here and hope to come back again!

Upper level separate apartment. Short stroll to Earlham College campus, ball fields, tennis courts, stables and Athletic Center. 5 houses up from the President's house. Windows galore offer natural lighting. Quiet neighborhood. Hardwood floors give that cozy feeling. Guaranteed clean and private. Well-behaved pets welcome. Breakfast not included. Coffee, tea, microwave, toaster oven and refrigerator in apartment. Host lives in lower apartment with dog and 2 cats. Chickens in the back yard.
This house is a classic Techbuilt home built in 1955 by Earlham college professors. These homes are sometimes referred to the Mid-century marvels. The first floor apartment is partly underground and separate from the rental space. Outside siding is cedar and inside has wood panelling throughout. There is baseboard hot water heat which does not dry the air out as much as conventional furnaces. There is also the forced air between rooms which is a health safety factor from viral infections. There is lots of natural light with large windows at both ends of the apartment and all along the sides. The apartment can be one large open room, but the master bedroom can be sectioned off with a folding door. Master bedroom has a standard double mattress bed. There is a single bed in the living room. An extra-long sofa (7 feet x 22 inches) is in the living room. A spare double mattress is behind the sofa and can be moved to the floor for extra bedding. Guest self-regulate heat & air conditioner (micro-duct through the wall unit). No kitchen (yet), but the "pantry" has large toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and separate tea maker, crockpot, refrigerator, dishes and silverware.
This is a located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Old growth trees and only local traffic in the dead-end street. Within driving distance, there are multiple restaurants and entertainment within minutes. Needler's grocery, pizza and fast food are within walking distance. In Richmond, just about everything is not more than 7 miles away; even the East side mall and restaurants. Local cuisine includes ethnic (India, Thai and Chinese) and regular: Texas Road House, McAlisters, O'Charlies, Olive Garden, Gallos and Old Richmond Inn to name a few. Many of the restaurants deliver.
  • We were visiting people in town and just needed a clean, quiet place to sleep and to grab some cereal on our own in the morning. However, if we had been new in town, we would have appreciated the tourist information--just one of many thoughtful touches--that Pat left in the apartment. She answered our questions ahead of time and gave us a warm, friendly welcome when we arrived--making us feel comfortably at home. She clearly cares a lot about offering a positive experience for her guests. The lot is wooded and we enjoyed seeing her sweet dog and her chickens roaming the fenced-in back yard (our private entrance was not in the back yard). This place is a great value, with a lovely host. We would definitely stay there again.

    Anne2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This space is exactly as described. If you are 6' or taller the shower/bathroom area are little cramped due to the slope of the ceiling. Short walk to Earlham make this a great value.

    Chris2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Pat is a great host. We were there for Earlham baseball opening weekend. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to a future stay in March. Being able to use the wood stove/fireplace was a real treat. Great location, walking distance to Earlham College. Took home 3 dozen eggs. Looking forward to our next visit.

    D2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I stayed here for a few days while visiting Earlham college which is a few minutes away by foot. Pat was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The natural light during the day made this a pleasant space. I would recommend this to a single visitor or a parent/child pair, since one of the beds is pretty small. But it worked for us. Thanks, Pat!

    Jenny2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean and Patricia was an amazing hostess, I would without a doubt recommend staying here to anyone who is interested in a great place.

    Hunter2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The space is very relaxing and cozy. Ms. Pat was very friendly and attentive to any needs we may have had. From check in to check out a wonderful experience, especially for our first time with Airbnb. We would recommend staying here anytime. Excellent location, close to everything.

    Rob2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pat's upstairs apartment is so great you won't mind the non-existent kitchen. In any case, there's a fridge, a microwave, a toaster oven, a coffee maker, and now an Instant Pot, and the bathroom sink is steps away. I stayed there while taking a two-week intensive course at Earlham School of Religion, which is on the same street, and I ate quite well--including a dozen fresh eggs from Pat's hens and a bowlful of chocolates that magically replenished itself. A grocery store, Needler's, is also within walking distance. As for the space, it's the perfect writer's garret--quiet, cozy, filled with green plants and warm light. I actually missed the place when I got home! The next time I go to campus, I won't look anywhere else.

    Meg2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia's apartment was the perfect space for us to spend the night on our road trip. It was only about 10 minutes off the highway and there were plenty of gas stations and food options on the way in and out. Her place is pet friendly and she was very welcoming of our pup! We would definitely stay again if we are ever in the are.

Restored 1000 square foot Lustron home in southwestern Ohio near Dayton, Oxford and I-70, now available again after two years off Airbnb. It offers architectural and historical features, 1950s furniture and accessories, and modern amenities. Located in a small village near cities, with access to both urban activities and small town charms.
This enameled steel home was built in 1949 by the Lustron Corporation as part of the housing boom for post WWII veterans, and has been lovingly restored by the host, one of only a few thousand Lustron homes remaining in the United States. Guests can enjoy life in the 50s, with period furniture and accessories, and original architectural features. This space is great for those who want to experience a bit of history, or want quiet small village life to write or think (there are annual Writer's workshops in nearby Dayton and Yellow Springs), or are attending nearby events in Dayton, or are visiting at Wright Patterson Air Force base, or who want a central spot for day trips to Cincinnati or other sites in southwestern Ohio or nearby Indiana. Several colleges and universities are nearby, including Miami University, Wright State, and the University of Dayton. There is a full double bed in the master, a comfortable sofa bed with extra mattress top in the second bedroom/study, and a twin Heywood-Wakefield daybed in the living room. This space is ideal for singles, couples, or small groups of adults. It's unique magnetic enameled steel surfaces make it fun to create designs with magnets (provided). There are multiple spaces in the home for use by business travelers needing work surfaces and internet access.
West Alexandria is a small village with its own charms, including local businesses and eateries (e.g., Buckeye Jakes and a Tea Room are two blocks away). Attractions in other small towns include Taffy's (a small live music venue in Eaton, 6 miles from the home), proximity to Miami University in Oxford (28 miles), interesting nearby small towns such as Yellow Springs, Ohio (home of Antioch University, 38 miles), Greenville, Ohio (home of Kitchen Aid appliances, museum, and cooking demonstrations, 37 miles) and Richmond, Indiana (home of Earlham University, Ghyslain chocolate, and American jazz history, 22 miles). A significant number of large antique centers are located within 50 miles. Metropolitan areas include nearby Dayton, Ohio (19 miles), Cincinnati (35 miles to IKEA, 50 miles to downtown), Columbus, OH (90 miles) and Indianapolis (96 miles)
  • The Lustron house is a great place to stay. I definitely recommend it!

    Shannon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara is a fantastic host and you'll be hard pressed to find a more unique experience. The house is clean and well designed, much more spacious than we expected. The decor is like walking into a time capsule (in a good way). We definitely recommend a stay!

    Chris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you like the 1950s era, you will definitely enjoy this Lustron home. Reading the history of this type of home really gives you a sense of just what kind of steps were taken to make affordable housing for the GIs coming back from WWII. Our minds swirled with thoughts of how life was back then, what dinner would be like, how a young family would feel living in that house. Definitely a keeper on the Airbnb trail!

    Chris & Marlene2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place to stay! The history of the Lustron and the decor added to the trip. Whether you are there for a short stay or an extended stay, this house has all that you need. The neighborhood is very quiet and the house is located close to restaurants as well as Dayton.

    Ted2019-12-29T00:00:00Z

  • My husband and I strongly recommend staying at this place! If you're looking for a (mini) vacation in a quiet setting and enjoy historic homes, this is it! Barb is a very nice and thoughtful host with a great personality.

Our beautifully restored 1880s home in the Starr district (2 miles to Earlham) features fine woodwork and architectural detail. Two lovely guest bedrooms upstairs sleep two each with shared bath. Enjoy breakfast made with fruit from our garden. Listing is for one of the bedrooms, inquire if you want to rent both.
Surprisingly cozy, “Arden Hearth” is a grand old Victorian with seven decorative fireplaces, a sweeping entrance hall, front and back parlors, and a stunning oval dining room. Upstairs, the front two adjacent bedrooms are ideal for a family, with a double bed in one and two twin beds in the other. Guests share one large bath with shower and tub upstairs; there is also a downstairs bath without shower. Although there is no central A/C, older homes were built to maintain comfortable temps year-round. In summer, we provide a window AC unit in the primary guest bedroom, and in winter, we provide an electric space heater and down comforters. The house is not handicap-accessible; you must be able to climb stairs. There are a few steps outside leading up to the entrance that do not have a railing. Inside, the bedrooms are on the second floor with a long flight of stairs, but there is a hand rail along those stairs.
The Starr Historic District has many examples of charming Victorian architecture in about six square blocks. We are just two miles from Earlham College, and within walking distance of downtown and the Depot district, where you can find nice shops and restaurants. We are also quite close to the Wayne County History Museum, Glen Miller Park, and the Jazz Walk of Fame and nature trail in Whitewater Gorge.

  • Daniel and Janet were gracious and giving hosts, and their home is a stunning example of early 20th century Mid-America architecture. They have done a great job in restoration and upkeep, no small task considering the vast expenses of natural woodwork and flooring. Our stay happened to coincide with a really nasty ice storm, and we didn’t know it till breakfast that they were up most of the night dealing with a leaky roof and water dripping into their dining room. Nevertheless, after getting that under control, they took the time to prepare a wonderful breakfast, and even sat and shared the meal and time with us, including fresh bread and homemade jellies and jams. It was a brief but wonderful respite during our travels, would definitely stay there again.

  • Had a great thanksgiving week stay at Kevin’s home. Spacious, clean, quiet, and 7 mins drive from anything you might need. Loved the friendly dogs that stopped by for a visit. Will definitely be back again!

  • The house was very cute! My daughter loved the swing in the front yard. We would stay here again for sure.

    Rhonda2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The red house was perfect for our family. We were in town to watch our daughter play volleyball for the local college, Earlham and this place was perfect. Our boys were able to get outside and run around when they weren’t cooped up in a gym.

Quiet, edge of town, wooded. Next to Earlham Campus.
  • This is a beautiful home which is very spacious and had little trinkets and pictures of places around Richmond which I loved. My friends and I really enjoyed playing the SmartAss game, one of the many available in the game room. The kitchen and game room being downstairs was a pleasant surprise. Having the extra half bathroom definitely comes in handy when there's more than one person staying there. We didn't discover the bathroom locks until the last day, so I would say that was the only bump we faced. My friends really appreciated having extra blankets and pillows available. Mark and Kristen are very fast in replying and accommodating to their visitor's needs.

  • Cute and cozy. Nice touches and upgrades. Comfy beds and very clean. Lots of windows and country views. Kitchen is downstairs along with a round glass top table which could seat five comfortably. Half bath is down there as well, along with walk out at to the patio and back yard. Upstairs is the master bath, three bedrooms, a great room with lovely views, one standard size television and a nice dining room table. There was only one chair to to sit on at that table, there wasn’t a lot of light in that part of the room and any meals needed to be brought up a flight of stairs. With this floor plan in mind it makes for a nice hideaway for those who do not have physical challenges.

    Jay Jay2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Mark & Kristen’s home. Just as described, clean and comfortable. The game room downstairs is really nice with lots of games and books. They had the kitchen stocked with coffee and spices and everything we needed. It was a cold weekend, but we stayed nice and warm & loved seeing the snow outside the windows in the game room. We also ate at Little Sheba’s per Kristen’s recommendation - it was close and the food was great.

Centrally located in Richmond's residential cottage neighborhood, this quaint 1938 walk up apartment charms with vintage pine. The dormered upper comfortably sleeps 4 with two separate bedrooms. The cozy, well equipped kitchen has an original, built in banquette. The full bath has a tub and shower. The Pine Cottage Guest Suite has a private entry, on-street parking and WIFI. This guest suite is the private, upstairs apartment of my home in a quiet residential neighborhood.
This cozy, well appointed apartment occupies the second floor of my vintage Cape Cod style home. Please note that the guest suite is accessible by a set of stairs. You will have a private entrance with self entry. The location is central to everything in Richmond and surrounding area. It is located in town on an arterial street that allows quick access to Earlham College, Richmond High School, IU East, Ivy Tech, Reid Hospital, Antique Alley, Civic Hall, Civic Theater, Wayne County Fairgrounds and Downtown and East Side amenities. Please review the House Rules for quiet hours, non-smoking and no pet information.
  • We were impressed that the suite was just as beautiful and charming as what was portrayed in the photos. The rooms look very cabin-inspired in their aesthetic, almost as though you were staying in a little cabin in the woods. She also includes some thoughtfully placed reading material. Shawn was an excellent host and very kind and helpful with any questions we had during our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling in this area!

    Grace2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed Shawn’s place. We arrived late and everything was ready for us. Check in/out was very easy. The location was great and the unit was beautiful. We look forward to a return visit. Thank you Shawn.

    D2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was lovely and the host more so. We were road tripping and were going to be in late in evening. Shawn provided detailed directions and was very responsive to our questions. When we arrived, he had left lamps on so we could easily find our way around. Just really thoughtful. The space was gorgeous. The design and decorating was beautiful, antique and homey. The bed was the most comfortable I think I've slept on while using Airbnb. Definitely recommend.

    Brittany2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn’s place is just what we were looking for during our short stay: clean rooms and bathroom, comfy beds, snacks, coffee and more! Nicely decorated and comfortable. Would stay again!

    Alex2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn's place was a wonderful getaway for me while I was visiting my son at Earlham College. The location is perfect, in a cute residential neighborhood centrally located within easy distance of the college, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The guest suite is a charming apartment on the full second floor of the house (with separate entrance.) The decor is charming, with lovely (but practical and sturdy) vintage/antique pieces. Beds and bedding are very comfy and the neighborhood quiet at night. The sweet retro kitchen was stocked with thoughtful touches like snacks, lovely stoneware. And YAY real cream in the fridge to go with the great selection of coffee pods (tea too). I used the supplied traveler's guides to do some antiquing and some hiking (local Cardinal Greenway and 20 min. south, Whitewater Memorial State Park) during my stay. The space is small in scale but plenty spacious. Tall visitors might find the vintage, European-style tub and shower a little low, but it was plenty of space for me (I'm 5'7"). I hope to come back for a future getaway!

  • Another fabulous stay!! Shawn's place is hands down the best find--the space is beyond charming, very clean and quiet, and perfect for four guests. Located close to downtown bars, and just under 2 miles or so to Earlham's campus. We loved it last year and again this year for our Earlham homecoming visit. Highly recommended!!

    Anna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely space, located pretty close to Earlham's campus, where we were visiting my son. The beds were great, decor is lovely, place is very comfortable and nicely set up. We absolutely would come back and stay again. Thank you!

  • Shawn's place was very nice. It was nicely decorated. It had everything we needed and more. The neighborhood was niceand quiet. If I come back to the area I will definitely stay there again. Thank you for a amazing stay.

Second floor of an 1865 Tin shop, now Coffee bar. Unique space with high ceilings & exposed brick walls. The bathroom features a soaker claw foot tub plus a lux walk in shower. The kitchen features solid surface counters, a large farmhouse sink, really nice appliances and thoughtful touches everywhere. The wifi is blazing. Have issues with stairs? This is not a good choice for you. If you're up for stairs and want a unique slice of history in a hip package then you will not be disappointed.
In 1865 this building was the home of Nye and Starr, a manufacturer of tinware and stoves. The Starr in this business was actually Benjamin Starr, later of the famous Starr Piano Company and Starr Gennett Records. This tin shop was his first business after he returned from the civil war and would become the first step into Richmond's jazz and recording history. The loft also became the residence to the fire chiefs of our city. The number one fire house is directly behind us and now serves as a BBQ restaurant. The neighborhood has become the place to come in Richmond for entertainment, food, and events. The coffee bar and tap room below the loft is Roscoe's, THE place in Richmond to connect and gather. It has become the hub of our community and to those visiting or attending a local college. With your stay, two breakfasts meals and two signature drinks at Roscoe's are included each day as our gift to you.
There are several great restaurants, a wine bar, tap rooms, museums, and shops all within a short walk. Fantastic biking trails and paths criss cross the neighborhood or are very near by. The Richmond farmer's market is only 3 blocks away as well. Lots of local history is on display from our windows and around each corner!
  • ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS LOFT!! Great location , price , and the Host was on top of things that we might need for our stay. Very accommodating and helpful.

  • The Starr Loft is a beautiful, spacious spot in a historic neighborhood with lots of character and charm. If your travels take you to the Richmond area, be sure to book a stay (we will the next time ours do)!

The romantic master suite has premium bedding on the king sleigh bed, a breakfast sitting area with microwave, fridge, & coffemaker, & a fabulous renovated master shower featuring carrara marble, a rainhead shower, and luxury throughout. A true escape yet within walking distance to all MU and Oxford have to offer!
Quiet, park-like residential setting within walking distance to MU. Historic 5000 SF home in great condition includes 3 guest suites with private full baths, on site parking available for seven vehicles. Private suite with en-suite renovated bath with a stunning marble shower. Kitchen on a cart includes microwave, Keurig coffeemaker, and mini fridge. Coffee and tea provided. Large bedroom with separate breakfast area.
The house is considered the gateway to the residential area to the west. Families are always walking by on their way to uptown Oxford or just taking a stroll. It's a very friendly open atmosphere where everyone is welcome. The apartment complex to the east rents mainly to families - this is not a student rental area. Kroger's (with a Starbucks) is a couple blocks away down Lynn Ave. Fast food restaurants such as Taco Bell, Arby's, Pizza Hut, LaRosa's are very close by on Lynn Ave. Our favorite Uptown restaurants are Left Field Tavern and Paesano's. Patterson's Cafe at Stewart Square on Spring St. is the best place to get brunch.
  • Most comfortable bed! The owners have done a great job and everything is as described. If you appreciate old homes this is one to see. Creak in old floors tell many stores and meticulously maintained. Communication is fast and accurate. Walk uptown is easy and close to campus. Would recommend and will likely return.

    Gina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a classic, turn of the century home in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from Miami's campus. We were here for a memorial service for a family member and Peter was kind and very responsive. We had total privacy and space to have "down time" which was just what was needed. A lovely respite.

    B2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Peter’s home is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location. It was about an 8 minute drive to the east side of Miami University’s campus. The house was easy to find, and the check-in instructions made it very easy to get settled in. There is a Walgreens very close by, which was convenient. There is a lengthy driveway which made parking easy. The space itself was immaculate and very comfortable and stylish. It was a little chilly in the main area but a space heater kept the bedroom warm. Also, I arrived to a basket of water bottles (additional cold ones in the fridge), bananas, apples, Kind bars, and muffins. It was perfect for a quick breakfast! Would highly recommend!! I will stay here again.

    Rachel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely, beautifully restored property. So convenient for me, a parent dropping off my son at Miami University. A welcome alternative to the busy hotels in Oxford. I had a wonderful stay, so restful and quiet. I appreciated the thoughtful touches, including a variety of breakfast snacks, and the well stocked keurig. I will be back!

    Mary2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic property !

    Mike2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house and especially our room were absolutely beautiful and a lovely retreat after a 9 hour road trip. Loved the old architecture and art throughout the house. There was a basket of muffins and fresh fruit upon out arrival. Pete was very attentive - The first morning of our satay I let him know the keurig in the room wasn't working correctly. By the time we came back in the evening, there was a brand new machine ready to go! Excellent stay close to campus and very reasonably priced for MU graduation weekend.

    Jessica2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Close to Uptown.

    Tom2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Very clean and the amenities were much more than I expected! A welcome basket with muffins, granola bars, fruit and candy! WOW! Plenty of bottled water! Everything I needed for my two night stay without having to pack liquids on the plane! Very convenient! Very Clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is so hard to find a place to stay in this area and I would definitely stay here again! I highly recommend.

  • The lodge is conveniently located, close to the school, and the surrounding environment is very beautiful. The layout is warm, comfortable and artistic. Although not large but completely independent and rich in space, there are yards and squirrel neighbors at the entrance. The landlord is very friendly and friendly. In addition to daily amenities and daily necessities, the landlord also offers fresh fruit and coffee. When you are free, you can flip through the owner's books and photo albums and see her paintings, just like at home. There is also a faint scent that I like very much.

  • Nicole's place was nice and clean. It matched the description to a T. Just be aware if you're in a full size truck (super crew + 6.5' bed), that's the only vehicle you can really fit in the parking area. Good location and it's nice to be behind a gate, considering you're in Fremont.

Separate studio apartment above garage with it's own entrance at the Historic Welsh Stewart House. Great light with windows on three sides. Parking on site and access to the wrap around porch. Living/dining area, gallery kitchen, full bed, full bath.
It's like staying in a treehouse with light coming in from windows on 3 sides. It's very casual and a true studio - living, dining, bed, kitchen, and bath areas are all open to each other. Everyone that has stayed there seems to enjoy it.
The house is considered the gateway to the residential area to the west. Families are always walking by on their way to uptown Oxford or just taking a stroll. • The location is great, just a few minute walk up town and the room is very comfortable and relaxing to stay in. If you want a break from one of Oxford's over price hotels and have a wonderful experience, this is the place to pic.

    David2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The studio at the Welsh-Stewart house is very clean with a private entrance through the garage. Note that there is a flight of stairs to get into the studio. There was a basket of snacks and some bottles of water, which were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and it was very clean. Peter is incredibly responsive to any communications. The only thing that was a little unexpected was that the shower is part of the main room, rather than the bathroom. Since I was sharing the space with my teenaged son, it was a little odd to have to manage that, but we figured it out. Wifi was fast and we had control of the heat which was great.

    Kirsten2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was good host! Nice touches. Coffee and cream. Homemade muffins and fruit!

    Loren2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely studio in a gorgeous historic home. It's perfectly equipped for several days or an even longer stay, and the bed is very comfortable. Peter is a great host who communicates quickly and thoroughly. We would definitely stay at this or another part of the Welch Stewart home again.

Very clean and welcoming home on private, quiet street. Minutes from Miami University and uptown Oxford.
  • Such a quaint place! Plenty of room for kids and teenagers, coming to visit the college or visit nearby amusement parks (we went to Kings Island!). The Kids can even have their own room here. Some thoughtful touches with snacks, ice & cold water - a great surprise after a long travel :) Super comfy couches, ready access to a washer/dryer, intense shower pressure, plenty of yummy coffee, and the cozy queen bed -- all were amazing! The picture doesn't show it, but there is a very cool upstairs loft that hosts that heavenly queen bed. We loved staying in that spacious room. Lots of nearby outdoor activities & the state park is close too. Just one slight drawback is the location of the 1.5 bathrooms in the house- both are downstairs. If you are traveling with kids it wont matter but we had our older parents with us. We would most definitely come stay again!

  • We were only at Tracy's place for a quick overnight stay. We could have happily stayed several more days. The house is spacious, clean, inviting and located in a nice neighborhood. We would highly recommend it.

    Marcia2019-07-28T00:00:00Z

  • Clean, spacious, and cozy. The house is located very close to campus so it is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Miami. The kitchen was stocked with snacks and bottled water which was extremely convenient.

  • Thanks Tracy for providing your cozy home during our stressful local move. We loved the well-stocked kitchen and fridge, attic room and overall cleanliness of the place. Would highly recommend to families visiting Miami University and Oxford !

    Peter2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little spot.... we loved the tiny house feel! Walking trail to uptown and trail to campus Millett/Yager stadium. We'll be back. So many thoughtful touches. Thank you!

    Catherine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don't do it justice, the house is much nicer than they show. Clean, quiet, 2 minutes from campus. Exactly what we were looking for.

    Chad2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Super sweet space! Loved the homey feeling and privacy. Felt like a kid again, sleeping up in the loft! Had snacks, drinks, fruit, and quick foods available. We will definitely look for this option next time we’re in town.

    Juline2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for two nights in January and couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. It was very quiet and peaceful and the owners were so thoughtful and welcoming (a plate of cookies was waiting for me). It’s close enough to uptown that you can walk, but far enough away so that it’s quiet. I’d describe this as a “tiny house” - which I absolutely loved. The bed is in a loft and it was very comfortable. I could stand up in the loft with a few spare inches to the ceiling (I’m 5’7”). This had everything I needed and was so reasonable. Will definitely stay here again.

    Jennifer2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying here while I coached a swim meet at Miami U, and I'm sure I'll be back again. It's perfect for one person, and you could probably add one more if they're willing to take the futon. They provided a surprising amount of stuff for a continental breakfast! For the value, this is MUCH better than staying in a hotel in Oxford.

    Matthew2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The is the perfect location in Oxford. They are just on the edge of town within easy walking distance to everything on campus but at the same time not surrounded by student housing. They have everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. I was able to make a few home cooked meals for my student while staying here.

Walk out Basement with private entrance near Miami, but not too close:) Private bathroom, laundry facilities, king bed, full sleeper sofa, Cable television, coffee maker, fridge, snacks, dining area. There is also a private entrance. The basement remains very cool(68) even in the summer months and I provide a space heater for this reason since there is no access to AC control. Since it is a basement apartment, you are directly beneath the house and will hear noise from other guests.
There is a main house that is also for rent. If you are interested, please inquire. Some people choose to rent both. Very near the grocery store and the park. This house is guest ready at all times. It has been completely renovated. Great place to do your favorite students laundry. I will say that the basement remains very cool even in the summer months and I provide a space heater for this reason since there is no access to AC control. Since it is a basement apartment, you are directly beneath the house and will hear noise from other guests. I do provide a noise maker. I have a strict 10:00pm quiet time rule.
Nice neighborhood outside of the mile square near Kroger. There is a public park you can view from the front window and a public pool directly across the street. Great area for walking and running.

Our original log cabin with pool, hot tub and gardens provides the perfect family get away! Located on Quaker Hill right next to a retreat center, you'll see horses grazing in the pasture behind the cabin and have access to trails leading to a beautiful waterfall. The Historic Downtown and Depot Districts are both just a mile away or you can visit Earlham College or explore the Antique Alley nearby.
Our cabin is a rustic, original timber home located in a quiet, historic neighborhood. The gardens include a picnic table and a daybed for curling up with a good book, and the heated pool and relaxing hot tub are a hit with both the parents and kids! Pool and hot tub use are reserved exclusively for you. There is a fully furnished kitchen (stove top only-no oven); log fireplace with available wood and kindling; two twin beds in the loft; and a queen sized pull out sofa.
Quaker Hill Cabin is located on a gated property right off of US 27 just 2 miles south of I-70. We are also just 1 mile from the historic Depot District and just 1.5 miles from Downtown Richmond.
  • Amazing little oasis in Richmond that feels miles away in a retreat like setting even though you are right in town.

  • Nicole was very fast at replying to any needs we had. GPS isn’t very accurate for this location and she was quick to respond and help us find the place. One thing we didn’t notice which is our bad, is that there is no oven and the microwave is a smaller size. Just a heads up for future guests. There is no central air, but there is a window unit which kept it comfortable. Everything was great!

    Brittany2019-07-18T00:00:00Z

Whether you need a home base for your visit to Miami University or a quiet place to relax after a night uptown, this quintessential grad pad is your answer. 5 minutes from MU, Uptown, Lane Library, and Kroger, & a block from the Chestnut lot (where shuttles pick up). Plenty of parking and a fenced-in yard, so dogs are more than welcome! I list for days my dog and I are out of town; the place will be all yours!
This is a completely *private* home in a duplex (one home that has been split in two). My unit has private entry, a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, dining room, and a back door with access to the fenced-in backyard. The backyard is the only shared space. The neighbor in the next-door unit is a long-time Oxford resident. Two house rules: no parties, and no fires. If you plan to bring a large dog, please let me know the age and breed at booking.
MU, Uptown, Lane Library, Moon Co-op Kroger, all very close! CVS, Scotty’s Brewhouse, Patterson’s Restaurant, Cru Wine Bar, Dim Sum, and Red Ox all within a 5-10 minute walk.
  • Our family very much enjoyed Justin’s space. For us, it was within walking distance of everywhere we needed to be in Oxford. And, if you want to avoid a crush of college students, plenty of nearby alternatives. Great communication and accommodation for our girls. Very clean space for a pet-friendly home.

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s home is perfect for any traveler, but especially for parents visiting their Miami students. The space is clean, bright, quiet, and welcoming. On a busy Oxford weekend when restaurants were packed, we were able to carry out dinner and enjoy connecting with our kids in Justin’s dining area. Communication was excellent and thorough. This spot is a gem within minutes from Miami’s campus. Highly recommended!

    Ed2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Justin's place is a cozy, but spacious cottage that is a perfect stop over for Miami parents, especially when traveling with a small dog! We enjoyed the big sofas in the living room and eating SDS Pizza in the dining room. Justin is a good housekeeper and great host! We would stay again.

    Michele2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Last minute booking and amazing location for anyone in town for Swim!!

    Courtney2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great! Justin gave lots of information and made my stay in Oxford very easy.

    Katie2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Justin’s place in a month and we still couldn’t be much happier. The space is warm and cozy; books line shelves, plants and thoughtful touches make it all feel like you’re staying in the home of a friend; which is what Justin manages to be even without meeting him. His space is welcoming, it invites you to sit quietly and have some tea or coffee in the morning and consider why you rarely make time any more for Kafka, Thoreau, Salinger; where critical thinking and the philosophical underpinnings of what we believe gave way to the theater of how wrong others must be: I suppose the point is that this is a thoughtful space. All aspects of it exude character and thoughtfulness, from the natural products, to the succulents, the spices, even the stories told by all the character in the beautiful-in-their-rustic-simplicity wooden floors. This is not granite countertops, stainless appliances, and Starbucks coffee. It’s a whistling teapot on the stove, a French press, a glass of wine, and a quiet read. The ample fenced back yard is a wonderful boon for those traveling with dogs, the neighbor friendly, the host someone you suspect has a novel in him waiting to come out. Writers read; and this is a space for both.

    William2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and smart, very cozy. Fenced yard is wonderful if traveling with dogs and the host is fantastic, warm, friendly, and has great taste in books.

    William2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s place is in a great location for visiting campus and Oxford in general. It’s a reasonable walking distance from both campus and Uptown. Check in was easy and the place itself was very clean.

  • Keith was a great host. We had a wonderful weekend stay in Oxford for a swim meet. Great visit with friends and a fun time. Much better option than staying in a hotel. Keith had great recommendations for places to eat and places to visit. He added lots of nice touches such as a bottle of wine in the fridge, coffee and extra toothbrushes in the bathroom! He was super easy to communicate with and he was very flexible with check in and check out. We visit Oxford at least once a year and will definitely stay again. Location is also perfect - 1/2 mile to Uptown and really close to campus. Thank you, Keith!

  • We had a convenient, easy stay at Eva's home. It was about 10 minutes into Oxford to the university.

  • Eva is very good at communicating with you and working around your schedule! She’s very kind and her home is very clean and cozy. The cute puppies are also an added bonus!

  • Enjoyed our stay at Eva's place. It's a great place to stay if you're traveling with a dog. She was very accommodating. You get the entire main level of the house, but we used it simply as place to sleep as we were in town visiting our kids. I would definitely use this Airbnb again.

  • Eva is welcoming, organized, and efficient! Everything is ready for guests, and is all inclusive, and Eva offers her availability should you need anything. She is gracious and goes above and beyond to provide for her guests. Her home is lovely and located in a beautiful spot out in the country, yet very convenient for trips to Oxford and Miami U. Highly recommend! Thank you, Eva!

  • Eva has a charming home. She is a thoughtful and generous host. Her efforts are demonstrated in her attention to detail. Our host was attentive without being intrusive. Beautiful wooded scenery with many species of birds and wildlife. Thank you for a great stay! Perfect stay for our son's graduation!
