  • Jose 's place is even better than I expected. It is super clean, and it is just by the sea with a lovely balcony. I do think this apartment worth far more than what it costs. By the way, Jose is truly a super host. He reply each of my message very quickly, gave us instructions which are super useful for new comers. I also want to thank Jose for sending my glasses to the airport- I left it in the bedroom when leaving-he helped figure out the best solution and did this big favor for me. I highly recommend Jose's place!

  • My husband and I enjoyed our 3 nights at this rental. It was fairly private but close enough to walk to food/drinks etc. It is a small space but perfectly sized for the 2 of us and the view is so beautiful. I would definitely recommend to other couples looking for something other than a typical hotel experience or those who want a great view. Host was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay :)

  • Jose was an amazing host! He went above and beyond to make sure we had all information and everything we needed. We will definitely be contacting him again the next trip we take to Vieques! Not only was he helpful during our trip (answering questions and helping with any issues we had), but he was kind and genuine. We had some issues with our ferry getting back to the main island, so we ended up having to fly. When he heard we were having issues with the ferry, he made sure to message and check up on us to make sure we made it to our next destination! If we could give him 10 stars, we would!

    Amanda2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is such a Gem! Amazing Vista and walking distance to town boardwalk!

    Julie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jose's place is paradise in paradise...the view goes all around the place you see the water everywhere...the balcony is awesome and Jose,,,well he is greatest host... you will not be disappointed if you rent this place...my hubby and I will be back.

    Daisy2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • BEAUTIFUL place close to the main boardwalk. Be prepared to take a taxi or rent a golf cart/car to come here from the ferry.

    Anna2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place! Right by the sea, gorgeous views, pictures don’t do it justice. Perfect place to explore Esperanza and enjoy the tranquility of the island. Jose was an amazing host, quick replies and local advice. Definitely recommend to anyone who decides to visit this beautiful island!

  • If you are fortunate enough to book Cielo Mar you will not be disappointed. Great view, great space, and close to the Malecón. This was our 3rd time in Vieques, but definitely not our last and we hope to stay here again!

My place is close to Esperanza town. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with young 10yrs kids and olders NOT FRIENDLY FOR INFANTS. And definitely need a car to visit the beach
Its very frendly area where you can meet locals as you walk to the minimart that is steps from the house
  • Good place to use as home base for your trip to Vieques. Simple lodging but you have everything that you need. Close distance to Esperanza (bars and restaurants) and black sand beach which is magnificent. You 100% need a car in Vieques if you want to explore the island. You can move around using taxis but you will be quite limited. Angie’s place is on a quiet hill, very charming. Stocked kitchen, beach chairs, towels etc. Only thing to keep in mind is that hot water is scarce but this wasn’t a problem for us as it is quite warm in Vieques.

    Mariola2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angie's space was excellent. It is a five minute drive from the main area of Esperanza. You will need a car/scooter/golf cart for sure. The apartment was comfortable and Angie was readily available but not invasive. She was super helpful when we needed it. We had a great experience! We ate most of our meals at restaurants. Angie has a well-stocked kitchen, but it is difficult to find groceries on Vieques. If you plan ahead and bring groceries from the main island, you will be able to cook at Angie's.

    Delaney2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Angie is great! The location of this place is perfect. 2 min drive or 10 min walk from all the restaraunts and bars yet far enough to have peace and quiet. Air conditioning in the bedroom so we definelty slept well. Would definetly rent again! She had snorkel gear for us and was always there if we had questions. Thanks Angie!!!!

    Mark2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second trip to Vieques, and this time we wanted a quiet place near Esperanza, but not in the middle of town, which can be a bit busy. Angie's place was perfect. It's near enough that you can walk (though we had a car, which we strongly recommend if you want to explore the island or go to the main beaches every day), but in a very quiet area. It's also just a five-minute walk from the entrance to Playa Negra, which is fantastic. The place is simple and rustic, but spacious. We liked the little porch, and the house also has sun beds and a little shaded nook. Angie was a great host, and gave us a tour of her garden, which is full of fruit and vegetables. She also lent us scuba gear, beach chairs, and towels, which we used every day. We would definitely rent here again!

    Alexander2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Angie was way toooo nice with us. We didn’t reserve a vehicle before hand, so she came to the rescue and talk to one of her connections and we had a car the same the we arrived. Her place is surrounded by nature and close to El Malecon, where you can find restaurants and bars! We enjoy sky full of stars and the coquis at night, very private place with a hammock outside and a shower to rinse out the sand... perfect touch. She gave us a ride back to the ferry and was very nice to us at all times.

    Karla2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy!

    Rodolfo Ariel2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, minutes from Esperanza and black sand beach. Outdoor shower was our favorite part and we ate lots of mangoes from the tree in front yard. Thank you!

    Karl2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Angie is a sweetheart! Upon arrival, she greeted us personally, left water bottles, crackers, coffee, beach towels, cooler, ice, bathroom toiletries for us to use - along with other kitchen and bathroom essentials. Her place is literally a few minutes down the road from the main street in Esperanza. She provided local tips on what to do, what beaches to visit, restaurants to eat at, and even what excursion companies she recommended. Honestly, had a great time and do not have a bad thing to say! It was WONDERFUL!

Our rooms have just been refurbished we have electricity, a backup generator, water, air conditioned, we are on the Esperanza Malecón across from the Esperanza beach that connects with the blue flag beach of sun bay, the trees are blooming, and coquis are singing. Come and see what an amazing job we are doing rebuilding our beautiful island.
We have a nice garden with a pavilion, where you are invited to relax during your stay
El Malecón is favorite hangout for visitors in the charming coast of Barrio Esperanza – located on the south side of Vieques. Visitors can choose from a variety of restaurants ranging from casual to fine cuisine with the bonus of a great view of the Caribbean waters with a background of offshore cays and Monte Pirata. Bring your camera to capture memories with the perfect background of the sun setting behind Monte Pirata. You can often find local artists selling beautiful unique crafts. Please take a look and support the local artists. Looking left of the Malecón there is a beautiful beach perfect for snorkeling, bathing, and very kid friendly. If you prefer not to rent a car during your vacation in Vieques we encourage you to choose an accommodation in Esperanza since you can basically walk to great beaches and great restaurants and you can get access to public transportation easily from Esperanza. You can often find young boys proudly riding their horses along El Malecón, especially on Sundays. Vieques is by no means a vacation destination for those that love a busy nightlife, but if you want some evening entertainment and good food, El Malecón is a great place to be
  • Modest accomodations in Esperanza. Cute and comfortable. Eva and Collette were so communicative, friendly, and welcoming.

    michelle2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great place with great beaches! Eva’s place is tucked in behind her fabulous restaurant serving the freshest fish on the island And amazing desserts. Spacious back yard with couches is very relaxing. Shout out to her lovely staff, especially Collette and William.

    Kathleen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely kind and helpful, clean place with perfect location. Would 100% stay here again. Had a great time

    Sarah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute room! It's clean and very close to the beach.

    Hao2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Vieques is lively. Evas property is right on the Malecon behind a fabulous restaurant Bili’s. Check in was easy, staff very friendly and accommodating, excellent location to everything you’d want to do during your visit

    Jacki2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place on the Esperanza. Very close to all the fun places in Vieques.

    Ravinder2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We wish to thank you so much, for everything. You provided us not only a lovey place to stay, but a warm reception and great travel advice. As two social workers on vacation however you did much more. You gave us a window into a beautiful culture, with richness and love for your island. We are inspired to know that you live with such humility. We learned from many in your community the devotion you invest yourself in Vieques. We learned of all the meals you shared during the worst of the hurricane, to keep everyone from starving. Thousands of meals for people starving while the US mainland unconscionably provided nothing. It is our honor to spend time amongst you.

    Chelsea2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Eva and her team were amazing! They provided amenities for us as well as suggestions. The location was phenomenal, right where everything was in Esperanza. Would absolutely recommend!

This modern Caribbean home sports 3 bedrooms with the ability to sleep eight guests total. Conveniently located 4 blocks up from the Malecon/main strip in Esperanza. A short and safe walk to all the bars, restaurants and the beach. There is a 55" flat screen with an amazon fire stick, high speed internet for those tired nights or rainy afternoons. Also, we have some beach equipment such as snorkels, beach chairs/towels and cooler for you to enjoy!
A cute spacious 3 bedroom casa on a residential street near Esperanza beach and Sunbay. There is a functioning outdoor shower on the left side of the house. Cold water only, however hot water is available in the indoor shower and both interior sinks. There is an electric wok, portable 2-element hot plate, dinner plates, bowls, mugs, utensils, pots and pans to cook. Ironing board, iron and two hair dryers for the ladies. We have some books and a few board games if the family gets bored. Also DVD's/player and fire stick. Heading to the beach? We’ve got you covered with masks, snorkels, beach towels, chairs etc.! Beds are all new memory foam comfortable mattresses. There is an out door patio bar with extra bathroom out back.
A quiet old fishing village. An up and coming hot spot on island with the most beautiful views and amazing beaches. Our next door neighbors have a giant red macaw that talks and flys around to different trees. His name is Lindo. It's quiet at night and safe to walk to malecon for dinner or cocktails! All the neighbors have always been very friendly. We love it here.
  • My family loved staying at Jonathan's place in Vieques, and it was nice to be away from El Malecon and feel a little more residential. The house is a very close walk to El Malecon in Esperanza where many restaurants are overlooking the water, but not as easy to access the beach at that part by foot as we had though. On a map, it looks great to only walk 20 minutes to Sun Bay Beach (and we are New Yorkers who are used to walking everywhere so that seemed pretty easy!), but once we were there realizing we weren't as comfortable walking along the sides of the road that distance... we just rented a golf cart, and after that we were so glad to retreat to this sweet place in a neighborhood as opposed to on a loud strip. The decor is lovely and truly made us feel like we were on vacation. We were grateful for access to a washer and kitchen to cook a simple dinner from goods at The Green Store as the Sunday afternoon of our arrival was when Puerto Rico went into lockdown from their Executive Order response to COVID-19. (We did try a taco truck based on Jonathan's suggestion which was excellent, and are excited to try his other suggestions the next time we visit.) The area is rustic and you'll hear roosters at 5am in the morning, but I loved having that as it reminded me of the provinces where my family grew up in the Philippines. We saw many mangoes growing in the back, and Jonathan offered that we could have fruit from the back. But we were not able to find any ripe enough to eat on the day we stayed. The place was clean and comfortable, and Jonathan put out small toiletries in each room which was a nice touch. My only suggestion was to make sure the light bulbs are working in the living room overhead light. They weren't on our stay, so it was quite dim when making dinner and trying to hang out in the evening, but we didn't mind... everyone in the family had another room to which they could retreat for bedtime. Everything was clean, beds were comfy and my whole family loved coming back to this spot after adventuring in Vieques. The outdoor shower to clean off sand is great too!

  • Great for larger groups, beds are super comfortable, nice amenities. Perfect getaway spot in Vieques!

    Walter2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan’s place is exceptional - exceeding my expectation! It’s spacious and clean, and full of thoughtful touches. The location is convenient - a few minutes walk to the main street, the restaurants and the biobay tours; 15 minutes taxi from the airport. We did not rent a car for our one night stay on the island to do the biobay tour and it’s easy to grab a taxi both from and to the airport. Mosquito Bay is amazing!

    Christina2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay! Vieques is now one of my favorite places! The house was clean and spacious, had great amenities and was super cute. Check in was simple and the house is close to things. No issues whatsoever. Would certainly come back and will certainly recommend!

    Jennifer2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Good place to stay for visiting the biobay.

  • I loved it very clean

    Franchesca2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Vieques at Jonathan’s place. It was spacious and clean with all the things needed for a beach stay. The backyard space was beautiful with tropical greenery, chairs and an outdoor shower. The beds were comfortable with ample bedding. Check-in instructions and communications were very easy. We liked the location for its walkability too. It was 10-15 minutes to the Malecon. We even hiked to the Black Sand Beach in 30 minutes! The neighborhood was definitely safe, although be prepared for chickens, roosters and dogs if you’re coming from a city environment. Use the provided disposable ear plugs for sleeping. We’d love to come back!

Where you want to be! A cozy quaint studio in the heart of the beautiful, lazy little ocean side barrio of Esperanza. Less than one block walk to the BEACH, restaurants and bars. Also a short two block walk from mini grocery store. ***In response to a guests review about noise on the roof... We found out the noise they were hearing was from repairs being done on the church accross the road, not on our unit. These repairs are now done.
The space features WiFi and direct ethernet cable for laptop, air conditioning, a queen size bed, full size fold out futon and closet. Includes, beach/bath towels. Outdoor seating area and place to hang hammock (provided in closet) between tree and corner of garage. (completely separate outdoor space as "Casa Mango".) Kitchen with fridge/freezer, four burner electric stove/oven, coffee maker, microwave, toster oven, toaster, and blender. The bathroom, surrounded by windows features a stand up shower with hot water. Also... private 1 car garage to park your rental vehicle. No need to worry about jeep rentals, taxis, or drinking and driving. Everything you need is just a block or two away.
    Very laid back local feel.
  • Very cool place. It has all the basic amenities with nice garage. The fridge is cold and the shower is hot. It’s within walking distance of Lazy Jacks and also the local baseball field. We watched a couple baseball games which was really fun!

    Taylor2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot right off the main strip, short walk to beaches, markets, restaurants, everything you need. AC works great and the cooler and beach blanket came in handy!

  • April and Verito’s place was a cute little beach spot! Very close to downtown Esperanza & the beach. They were super helpful and responded to our messages very quickly! Thank you again!!

  • My second stay at A & V's flat was just as great as the first! Light, airy, private, and safe. Close to bars/restaurants, shops and of course, the beautiful ocean! Bring ear plugs-- Vieques is full of enthusiastic roosters.

    Ari2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magical time in Esperanza! We loved how close we were to the malecon, great restaurants and the beach. The studio was a perfect space for two and the neighborhood was quiet, minus the roosters, but they add to the experience in my opinion. Thank you both for opening up your space to us! We will return and share your info with others. Salud!

    Dana2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Super close to restaurants and the local market. Comes equipped with everything you need for the beach! Perfect place to start your adventures on vieques. Tip: pay attention to their recommendations on where to snorkel, swim, explore and dine!

    Esperanza, Vieques, Puerto Rico

Encantada Vieques is a five acre estate bordering the Caribbean Sea, just west of Esperanza on the southern side of Vieques. The home is a luxurious renovation of a 2br/2bath casita, supremely located on gorgeous Coco Beach. The property includes electronic gate access.Stay in this newly renovated, luxury home and walk to your own beach that was literally the set of Victoria's Secret Swim 2015. You've never seen better sunsets. Yes, come to Vieques. Yes, stay here. You will not regret it.
POST-MARIA UPDATE: Encantada Vieques is in great shape. Electricity has returned to the property and we are ready to rock! Many thanks to all our guests who stayed with us during the blackout period and showed their adventurous spirits. For everyone else, book at will! Vieques is as beautiful as ever. View more property pictures and Vieques lifestyle shots @encantadavieques on Instagram. Encantada Vieques is my dream property and when you stay here, you'll understand why. Just west of Esperanza and an easy car or bike ride to anywhere on the island, Encantada features five acres directly bordering the Caribbean Sea. The northern side of the property includes a newly constructed white wall with electronic, gated entry. In the northwestern corner of the property is a newly renovated 2 bedroom, 2 bath casita with stunning, bright interiors. It has a beautiful outdoor shower and spacious patio living areas designed to maximize your enjoyment of nature and the outdoors. A sleeper sofa in the living room allows the home to sleep six comfortably. The back porch looks directly down towards the sea and reaps wonderful tradewinds. The house has an enormous and quite impressive boulder just outside its walls that is visible from the road. The home is designed to successfully mix modern luxury with a taste of the island paradise you’re visiting in Vieques. I’ve intentionally left out a TV though there is dependable wireless internet. Air conditioning as well as fans are included in the two bedrooms and windows in the living area open on multiple sides of the home for wonderful trade winds. The home is extremely comfortable and convenient while still giving you a sense of the great escape you’re looking for. The design is youthful, classy and bright. The beach that borders the southern side of the property is absolutely breathtaking. During the day it features picture perfect Caribbean blue waters and in the evenings, the most perfect sunsets to the West. At night, stargazing from the property is unrivaled. It should be especially noted that there are very few beachfront properties available on the island and hardly any others on the southern side. You will love Coconut Beach. The home is in an ideal location to explore the island, just outside of the most tourist-friendly part of the island (Esperanza) and centrally located to both the west and east Wildlife reserves. We are next door to the future Zafira Hotel Vieques. As noted in the guest access below, this casita that you'll stay in is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus an outdoor shower. There is another new, larger home on the same five acre space that is eco-luxury in design and fitting for larger groups. If you are looking for a pool or have more than six people to bring with you, please see my other listing.
Encantada Vieques is just west of Esperanza, close enough to walk but private enough to have a sense of space apart from the town. The neighborhood is safe and happy, filled with families that have lived nearby for generations. Like many others, I was awestruck the first time I saw Esperanza, Vieques, the beautiful town on the southern shore right near Encantada. I felt great vibes immediately. It is the most picturesque Caribbean beach town I’ve ever seen. The fact that it has maintained its authenticity is absolutely amazing. It still feels undiscovered, even while housing the best restaurants on the island and serving as the focal point for nearly all adventure-related tourist activity. Most of the Bio Bay tours (your #1 must-do) leave from Esperanza. There are rental companies providing bikes, kayaks, jet skis, snorkeling equipment, mopeds, etc. The Malecon or boardwalk looks out at the two small barrier islands, past small fishing boats moored in the harbor. Tranquil trade winds blow onto the shore where tourists, expats and locals mix peacefully and enjoy island vibes together. Time does move slower here. Black Sand Beach is also walkable to the west of Encantada along the same southern shoreline as Coconut Beach. Volcanic rock has changed the sand a dark, charcoal grey and makes for one of the most photogenic opportunities on the island. Sun Bay Beach and the the main Wildlife reserve beaches are about a 10 minute drive from Encantada and need to be seen to be believed. As a native Floridian I am continually shocked by the stunning, empty beaches of Vieques. It is truly remarkable that this place has been preserved in all its natural beauty. It is the ultimate mixture of adventure, relaxation and nature, offering the best possible combination of elements to ensure a life-changing vacation experience.
  • Highly recommend this little casita, especially in conjunction with the larger Casa Encantada. It's small but cozy and has all the amenities that you would need, plus a great location to walk into town. The host and house manager are quick to respond and experts on Vieques so happy to give recommendations and guidance. I would recommend this spot to anyone traveling to Vieques and I hope to be back soon, too.

    Diana2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita in the Encantada compound is wonderful. The listing is completely accurate. The hosts stay in contact with you throughout the booking process if you need them. Karen is the property manager and she’s wonderful as well. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfy. Anything you could need for the beach was available to take with you. If you could give a 6th star I would

  • The property itself was very clean and had everything our group needed. The space was better than expected and surroundings were breathtaking. Our host was extremely accommodating and available when needed. Our group would definitely stay there again!

  • My partner and I had an amazing stay in Vieques in this beautiful house, which is very elegantly designed and provides extremely comfortable accommodations. Walking distance from the popular eating and nightlife spots in Esperanza. Karen was very helpful in getting us situated and sorted out with the logistics for arriving from San Juan. We were only two for this stay, but hope to come back with friends or family for a longer visit in the near future.

Safe, clean and secluded. Private suite with gorgeous black bathroom, kitchen and outdoor shower on Vieques’ South side, only 1.5 miles from Esperanza's restaurants and activities. Located on the lush grounds of Oro Gallery at Playa Negra's entrance, Vieques' only black sand beach. Relax in a queen size bed surrounded by art, or explore our gallery, tropical grounds, and courtyard. Cook and make a cocktail in your small, well-appointed kitchen and enjoy the sunset views from your outdoor patio.
  • Sarah’s place is gorgeous - beautifully decorated and great location next to one of the best beaches on the island. Even in the midst of the Covid 19 overreaction, Sarah let us stay and enjoy meals of takeout and groceries on her beautiful property and mornings and sunsets on Playa Negra.

    David2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's lovely space is just enough for two people. Not directly in town, which is a plus if you like privacy. Easy to cook your own dinners or go out. We hope to return sooner than later. Lovely host and location. Island living is sweet.

    Trish2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • BOOK THIS SPOT NOW you will not find a more stylish and authentic spot to stay. The location is perfect, very close to town but not too clos and you can also walk to a beautiful beach. Sarah has wonderful recommendations, all spot on. Her guest house is styled so beautifully with all the small details kept in mind. On our last night, we were greeted by 7 wild horses in the courtyard of the property, truly magical. Book a car right awy, the island only has so many. We were late to book a car and got a golf cart and we had a blast with it, "island time slow convertable". You can get most places on the island and getting caught in a sunshower is amazing and you can smell the beautiful island air. Also book a bio bay tour, go on a new moon, its insane. One last pro tip: if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs and an eye mask. Lost of chickens, other chatty birds and dogs... wouldnt be the beautiful island it is with out them.

  • The place itself is stunning. Very calm and stylish. The location is absolutely beautiful. With Playa Negra just a walk away.

  • Excellent place to stay in vieques! We feel like local friend and the place is very typical . We highly recommend to rent a golf cart or Jeep as soon as possible before your trip . You gonna enjoy more your vacation and the place !!

  • Sarah's place was great for our stay on Vieques! It's well located within a short drive of Esperanza and right next to the entrance to Playa Negra. We were often greeted by her cats and some of the horses that roam the island which made for a unique touch. Her tips for what to do and where to eat on the island were all spot on. It was very helpful to have local insight while we were there.

  • Even better than pictured! Wonderful stay, just as described, with two additional notes: there's an extra table/mirror that isn't pictured, and also not pictured (but in the description) is that beach chairs, towels, and an big portable beach umbrella are provided--these last three items made it possible to easily enjoy any of the dozens of beaches on the island. Just got home and already can't wait to go back.

  • Hilda is a wonderful host and picked us up from the ferry terminal. I would recommend renting some form of transportation (golf cart, scooter or car) for getting to restaurants and around the island.

    Graham2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just had a wonderful time thanks to Hilda and her place. Her place was simply a 7 min walk to the malecon and restaurants. Also, super close to a very cool beach. There is plenty to do around the area. It was super convenient for us.

  • Great place to stay in Vieques! Walking distance to great bars, food, and beaches.

  • Cozy spot walking distance to restaurants/shops and Malecon in Esperanza

    Madison2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in Esperanza! Very nice sitting area and kitchen, it was a lovely stay and excellent responses from Hilda!

    Billy2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious - large bedroom with a seperate kitchen and living room area. Kitchen is equipped with pots and pans. Great AC. Little off the beaten path from the main drag of restaurants, but still in very close walking distance! Hilda was really nice and met us in person to give us the lowdown so check in was easy.

    Marisa2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Large place, very accommodating, close to restaurants and El Malecon. Full kitchen, Warm water, no tv - which we thought was great- and a comfortable bed. Parking is on premises. The area is rural and has plenty of wildlife. You can hear the sound of the forest creatures and roosters throughout the night.

    Gilbert2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A place too good - In the United States this would be an efficiency or a study. You have an entire room plus whole room plus whole kitchen for you alone. Hilda is too attentive to detail and knows the island very well. I highly recommend it.

Very private, safe and easy to walk to everything! This cottage is small, but has it all! Queen bed, AC, ceiling fan, private bathroom with shower, and your own private yard. Lots of outdoor space, right outside your door: outdoor bench, your own hammock, also various fruit trees. There are stairs to your rooftop seating. No need to rent a car ( optional, for those who want to drive around to visit the many scattered beaches, etc). You are a 2 min walk (one and a half blocks) from the Malecon. That's the Boardwalk, which has beachfront, restaurants, bars, gift shops, museum, Biobay Tour companies, rentals of kayaks, bikes, snorkeling gear, jet-skis, scooters, and more! Several walking trails and three other swimming beaches are a just a little farther walk away. 10 min walk between four different beaches. Lots to do and see in Esperanza, the very popular beachfront neighborhood. If you stay for three or more nights, the price is lowered by 5%. For a 4 night stay, the price is discounted 10%. Stay longer and SAVE!
Esperanza is a very popular and beachy neighborhood! You can walk around safely, even at night. It's the only neighborhood where you can walk to everything you need, even several swimming beaches! The Malecon (Boardwalk) has restaurants, bars, and so much to do! There are two docks, which are lots of fun to jump and dive off. The "food trucks" which sell local cuisine at a low price are back in business, giving you more dining options on the weekends. They operate in the parking lot near the end of the Malecon on Saturdays and Sundays (and sometimes Fridays).
  • Both Joe and Margo were a delight to work with and there place was ideally situated. We’re so grateful for this small casita on our first trip to Vieques! We will certainly be back.

  • Margo and joe were beyond accommodating. A good place to stay if you want to see Esperanza!

    Jenna2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot! Joe and Margo were wonderful hosts and offered local tips and beach gear to borrow. If you stay here, make sure you take advantage of the rooftop patio and hammock! We rented a vehicle and it really helped us to be able to explore the island, although there were several beaches and restaurants within walking distance.

    Corey2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Coco Loco is amazing. Margo and Joe are so nice and welcoming and have great tips. The space is also perfect. If you come to Vieques I definitely recommend staying here.

    Josh2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! Very close to everything hip on the island. Much recommended!

  • Amazing stay with extremely great hosts

    Ed & Isabel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Margo and Joe’s casita! The room was small but exactly what we expected and what we wanted since we were only going to be sleeping there for 2 nights. The rooftop deck is perfect for viewing the most amazing stars at night. The location is within walking distance to everything in Esperanza - 5 mins to bars, restaurants, and 10-20 mins to beaches! They were both very hospitable and Joe gave us the lay of the land when we first arrived to make sure we knew where everything was on the whole island and approximately how much transportation would cost if we couldn’t walk to certain locations. We ended up in an unexpected pinch when our driver didn’t show up to take us to our scheduled ferry departure, and they both immediately stepped in to help us out, which we are really grateful for. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you both!

    Mary2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I loves this place! Small but super cute and all we needed. Was stocked with a bunch of essentials, bug spray, full size shampoo conditioner and body wash, etc. Air conditioner was a sleep saver! Rooftop patio was so nice, but beware of stairs! Little dangerous but just watch your step and you'll be alright. Couple of blocks to the main drag and the sweetest hosts! Thank you Margo and Joe! Highly recommend!

Our apartment is located in a quaint three story building in the heart of Esperanza, a picturesque fishing village on the island of Vieques. The studio is fully equipped with a modern kitchen, private bath, a beautiful tropical garden, and a rooftop deck with spectacular views of the Caribbean. The apartment is meticulously clean, beautiful, bright and airy with lots of windows and ceiling fans. Your comfort and relaxation is our priority and we work hard everyday to go above and beyond to insure you are fully satisfied with your stay.
The apartment is located within walking distance of stunning beaches, restaurants, a bakery, grocery stores, The Vieques Trust, and the Malecon (the strip).
  • I stayed in Acacia Guest house during my stay in Vieques. The host responds very well and on time. This is very helpful when it's a remote island and you can't speak Spanish. I was constantly in touch with the host for directions, recommendations etc. The guest house is well maintained and cozy. It felt safe and it's a 5-10 mins walk to the main street. I strongly recommend this for visitors.

  • Good place

    Ceara2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Shawns place was exactly what we needed. The apartment was basic but very clean, easy to find and great views from the roof top. And it was about an 8min walk to the main strip In Esperanza. The main bed was comfy. But the sofa bed wasn’t great; we ended up using the air mattress, which was fine. Shower was also very basic. The cockerels were also pretty loud at night, but got the sense that was everywhere on the island! We will definitely stay here again!

  • Place is at a perfect location in Malecon, very easy to get around with public or private transportation and walking distance to awesome bars and restaurants. His place is great, very clean and has everything you need. Isabel and Victor were also very helpful since the beginning, available at all times whenever I had any questions. Totally recommend it.

  • My bf and I decided to stay on Vieques for the bio bay tour on my birthday, so booked Shawn’s place on AirBnB because of their location and reasonable price. It is located about 10-min walk away from the shore, where most of the bio bay tours start from. Bonus part is that you have 360 degree ocean view on the roof top <3 The apt itself is sparkling clean, just as shown on the picture. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and stay here again if we visit Vieques in the future.

Walk to Beaches: From Casita Rosita you can walk past 3 house and a short path down hill to a lovely cove. Walk around the rocks to your right and get to a wide open coconut grove lined beach. Or walk to the Malecon and take the entrance down steps by the Malecon Inn, or across from Duffy’s, or get in between the piers, or beyond the piers, or walk around the corner along the shore to the lower end of SunBay State Park. Drive to beaches: 1) U.S. Fish & Wildlife Refuge beaches are not to be missed, for the diversity of settings, beach entrances, most make you feel you own the place. See the island maps in the house and distributed everywhere. 2) Quick beach trip by car: Be at SunBay in 5 minutes if you drive; 3) Quick beach trip to the Refuge: Red Beach. Snorkeling from shore by Casita Rosita: The beach just down from our house has good snorkeling that continues along the high cliff and a short ways the other direction. Snorkel also on the west side of the little island you can see from shore—it’s a 15 minutes swim out. Bio Bay Phenomena: The water glows at night in the bioluminescent bay–here in Vieques, close to Casita Rosita. Single-celled organisms by the hundreds of thousands emit a flash of light when the water moves–the kayak, your hand, the paddle, the fish swimming by. It is a unique experience. Vieques’ bio bay is considered the best in the world. Many tour companies will take you out with a guide for about $30 a person. These one cell organisms, called dinofalgenates, are half-plant, half-animal. We have the greatest concentrations of these dinoflaggelates because of our healthy mangroves. Come see the water light up with a glittery trail when anything moves through it. Our bay is surrounded by healthy mangroves with roots reaching down into the water, acting as a nursery for fish. Is is in these roots, also, that the food for dinoflagellates is. There is a delicate balance between the bio bay, the narrow channel leading to the ocean and the exchange of water. The conditions for our bio bay are rare. Scientists say perhaps only six places in the world have bio bays like ours. The bio bay is a special thrill. You can go out on kayaks or on a ponton boat. It helps to have a red night headlight. FLY TO SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico: You want to fly into Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (code SJU), the biggest airport in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. Low cost airlines that fly to San Juan, PR from the U.S. include AirTran (Southwest Airlines now owns them & their Rapid Rewards can be transfer to Air Tran) and Jet Blue. GETTING TO VIEQUES FROM SAN JUAN: Vieques is a small island 7 miles off the east coast of Puerto Rico. You will land at the San Juan international airport about an hour northwest along the coast from Vieques. To get to Vieques after you land in San Juan, you need to choose between a ferry from Farjado; OR a short small airplane ride from one of three airports: 1) International Airport in San Juan; 2) Isla Grande Airport in San Juan; and 3) Ceiba Airport, 10 minutes south from Farjado ferry dock. Flights into Vieques run from 6:15 a.m . to 7:30 p.m. (depending on which airport) & out of Vieques’ only airport, 7 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. All these airplanes are 8-10 seaters. There are enough options to coordinate with your flight into San Juan, as long as you fly in time to connect to a flight or ferry. Book this leg of the trip in coordination with your main flight. If necessary, you can consider spending a night in the airport at the Best Western, or taking the opportunity to go into nearby historic & charming Old San Juan. It is less expensive to fly to Vieques from San Juan, if you switch from the international airport and take a $18 cab to the “Isla Grande” airport—you’ll think you’re in a Humphrey Bogart movie when you get there. Taxi vans (called PUB-LEE-COS) at the San Juan International Airport, just outside of the baggage pick up area exit, can take you to this smaller airport (or anywhere on the big island). It’s the same airlines, and the same planes, just less airport taxes. Flying from “Isla Grande” airport can cost $ 40 less, each way. FROM SAN JUAN INTERNATIONAL: To fly directly from San Juan international to Vieques, costs about $100 – 130 each way, depending on if you are buying one way or round trip, and which airlines you use. You can see the combined schedule of all the airlines in the Vieques Events (JUSTIN: internal LINK TO SCAN I have ATTACHed), but you must call the airlines, as times do change. Planes can fill up fast because they are small, so make your reservations immediately. Most regular flights are on Vieques Air Link**, Air Flamenco, Seaborne (only on Thurs. & Sun.) & Cape Air** (which offers a coupon book of 10 one-ways—around $ 77 each) that can be used by multiple passengers, and either direction, expires in 1 year.) Rosita’s personal favorites = **. FROM “ISLA GRANDE” AIRPORT IN SAN JUAN: To fly to Vieques from the little Isla Grande Airport, costs about $ 75 – 100, each way, depending on if you are buying one-way or round trip, and which airlines. Regular flights from this airport are on Vieques Air Link & Air Flamenco. (Cape Air & Seaborne do not fly from this airport.) Take a $18 taxi van (called PUB-LEE-COS) to this airport from the international airport, outside the baggage area (15 + minute drive depending on traffic). FROM CIEBA AIRPORT: Take a taxi van 1 hour/40 minutes south of San Juan International to the Ceiba airport (about 5 miles south of the Farjado ferry) and take a 10 minute flight for about $25 – 35 one way. Call airlines below, English spoken at all the toll free numbers. Vieques Air Link Toll free reservations: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ck up local office in a pinch: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) . Vieques airport: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) or -0508. This is the cheapest route if you have the time & especially if you are a group. Taxi vans (called PUB-LEE-COS) at the San Juan International Airport, just outside of the baggage pick up area exit, can take you to the Ferry dock in Fajado (no more than 1.5 hours), for a set fee of $80—which can be shared by a group that presents itself together—ask on your flight into San Juan if anyone wants to share a taxi van to Farjado (pronounced FAR-HAD-DO). There is usually a tourist aide who speaks English at a stand right there on the sidewalk and can show you the published rates. Once in Farjado, the ferry is very inexpensive, $2 one-way or $4 round trip. The office to buy tickets is across the street and around the corner in a trailer with a metal canopy. The other direction across the street is a breakfast/lunch coffee shop/café. There is a pizza joint inside the Farjado ferry station. The ferry ride can be 45 minutes or 1.5 hours—see the schedule—depending on which ferry you take. Note: Very occasionally, the ferries are delayed or full, or canceled for bad weather. The Fajado Inn is recommended in such rare instances. Note: the ferry ride can be very pretty standing outside (the new cargo ferries don’t allow one to stand outside, but do offer great seats & a group TV). Rough weather can cause the ferry to be choppy. Both cargo & passenger ferries take passengers, but on the cargos there are substantially less passengers. Buy tickets only in person. The new cargo ferries don’t allow one to stand outside, but do offer great seats & a group TV, and go twice as fast. Rentals are not allowed on the ferry! Note: when the cargo ferry gets their fill of cars, they leave early, and if transporting gasoline, they will further limit passengers—about once a week, one ferry. Farjado also has ferry’s to other destinations. There is an area on the left of the ferry dock station for passengers going to Cuelebra. Vieques passengers leave from the right side of the inside of the station. Vieques cargo ferries leave from outside the station across from where you bought the tickets. Vehicles load first, and then passengers. On all ferry’s the elderly and women with children are given preference. Here, a ferry is called (LA-LAN-CHA). Local specialties are conch salad, whole snapper, mafongo made from green plantains—there’s also sweet plantain, local spiny lobster, fried stuffed pastelillos, arepas breads (Rosita prefers the baked, not the fried, sold weekends from a vendor on the Malecon). The Esperanza Bakery around the corner from Casita Rosita carries a handful of different kinds of pastries made daily, plus the hot bread in the morning—a soft doughy confection—& Sat a.m. they sell a whole wheat version (ask for “Pan Intergal”). They also do cooked breakfasts & pizzas on weekend nights. Colmado Lydia, market next to bakery & around the corner from Casita Rosita, has a little of nearly everything. The Malecon, a block from Casita Rosita, is the concrete promenade on the water in Esperanza, which is where 8 restaurants await you. Inexpensive on the Malecon in Esperanza: Duffy’s – large mircobrew selection, only on the island Belly Buttons – mostly does breakfast & lunch, but also has night chef’s for weekly special food events: Wed: Paella night, Thurs: Taco night (great value). Lazy Jacks – a good drinking bar, has Karoke on Monday nights, sometimes brick oven pizza, good jewelry deals, like the vendors, in the shops behind La Nasa – fried Puerto Rican foods, locals eat here, great dancing out back over the water Mucho Gusto – we like the conch salad and whole fish, Puerto Rican owned Columbian Food Cart – Friday-Sunday, good/inexpensive vendor in the parking lot by La Nasa All the restaurants in Esperanza face the “malecon” which means boardwalk in Spanish. Medium to Expensive Prices (in order) on the Malecon in Esperanza: Tradewinds – specials are good value, view is lovely (great T-shirt selection in gift shop) Billi – love the whole snapper, try what was caught that day El Quenepo – unique food, posh atmosphere, high end Eating off the Malecon: At the Refuge entrance: Sol Food wagon highly recommended; In Isabel Segundo: Coconuts, Mamasongas, El Patio/Barefoot Be’stro Expensive, but worth it: Second Course – great food; and, Carambola – nicest ambiance/destination, at the Blue Horizon Inn to the west of Esperanza along the coast; Destination rich, but not great value: W Hotel MiX on the Beach & pool side cafe. (Other ways to hit this destination is to try their fire pit at sunset with special priced drink of the night, or the yoga classes open to the public.) Vieques Airport: Good breakfast/lunch joint up top by the parking lot where you check in. At Sunbay: Restaurant will delivered to your beach site, call in orders. FOODIES NOTE Organic vegetable market on Tuesdays (& Wednesdays in winter) by the GE plant at the corner of Rt. 200 & Rt.201) a 10 minute drive from Casita Rosita; Fabulous local specialty: “Arepas” (baked not fried like so many) sold on Sat/Sun by a vendor on the Malecon. Best 6-pack beer in Esperanza: Stella Artois at Colmado Lydias (around the corner from our house—$ 9 a six pack if you ask for the warm; $ 12 for the cold); some fruits, vegetables, frozen meats, and all the usual convenience store options. Great small health food store: YerbaBuena (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) (just around the corner from 5 & dime) with surprising select; say hello to Mayra from Rosita. Fish from the Pescadoria just beyond the Ferry dock in Isabel Segundo: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) blocks away, on the other end of Esperanza toward SunBay, is the Green Store market with some extras worth note: specialty cheeses, individual serving size bottles of Barefoot wines, widest wine selection in the neighborhood, large contains of mango salsa & nuts, marinated artichokes, smoked salmon, and other “gringo/Costco” food items. Market right around the corner with Bakery next door! GROCERY STORES: Two “Morales” grocery stores on the island: one on the north side of Rt. 200 (much larger of the two, with parking lot) not far from Isabel Segundo and the other conveniently in town, two streets down from the PO, turn right on Baldorioty De Castro street, park in front. MEAL DEALS: happy hour specials at many restaurants—see Vieques Events magazine; special chefs’ nights at Belly Buttons & Mar Azul; cooked value breakfast at the bakery around corner. High-end limited space private home dining is by reservation—see Vieques Events. At Sunbay State Park the restaurant will deliver drinks and food to your beach spot. GOOD BREAD: Wanda’s artisan bread at the organic market on Tues’ ( (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ); Green Man Baked Goods (will deliver to Casita Rosita). Good bread, fresh Puerto Rican coffee, high end cheeses, breads, etc. available at Buen Proveco tony market in Isabel Segundo ( (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ). FRUIT, FRUIT & MORE FRUIT To eat fruit constantly: pick mangoes and papaya in our yard, Tuesday/Wednesday hit the organic market, or the truck stand across from the school just on the outskirt of Isabel Segundo at Rt. (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) huge air conditioned trailers full of fruit & vegetables. LIQUOR: Drinkable wine is expensive in Vieques, best deals are actually the Green Store, or the large Morales usually has something on sale; kahlua & rum are cheap at the big Morales grocery. Don’t forget the duty free shop on your way out of San Juan International Airport: great deals for gifts or to stock your bar & the latest limit seems to be 5 bottles a person. ENTERTAINMENT: See the listing in the local magazines, Vieques Events, as well as flyers posted along the Malecon and in front of restaurants. There are many one off events that are not highly promoted, so keep your eyes open. Live musicians play on the Malecon; Bananas has a guitarists a couple nights a week. Locals dance Thursday-Sunday, usually to taped music, sometimes accompanied by live musicians at La Nasa. Don’t miss Willie Colon if he is playing with one of his steel drums groups, (including the children’s orchestra)—he’s great fun. A good blues-rock band plays Fridays at Mar Azul. Municipal concerts and other events at the town square in Isabel Segundo. Annual Calendar of Events NIGHTS IN VIEQUES: Drumming on Beach: At nearby Sunbay on the full moon, once a month 6:30, some instruments provided. Karoke on Saturdays at Mar Azul—great regulars or try their open mike backed by a blues-rock band on Friday nights. More Karoke in Esperanza at Lazy Jacks on Mondays. Dance with the locals at La Nasa on the Malecon in Esperanza on the weekends. Annual festivals: Easter (big week for locals with tent city camping all over lower Sunbay; Paternales in July (Saints Day of the patron saint of Vieques) with a big festival on the plaza, early December pre-Christmas lead ups; New Years: concert and fireworks on the Plaza—lots of fun. Bananas in Esperanza often has a musician in the spring and summer, 2 nights a week. Willie Colon steel drum band plays on the Malecon occasion as well as elsewhere. Concerts are advertised by flyers and in Vieques Events, the local monthly magazine. Check them out ahead of time.
How everything is nearby without getting into a car. You can vacation independently for part of the day. Good neighbors, close to Malecon but not too close.
  • Rosie & Donald’s place is in a great location near all the best places to eat in Esperanza. They also have a great backyard. I appreciate how fast they were to respond and all of the help they provided during our stay. Would highly recommend!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Rosie and Donald’s place! The location and amenities were excellent for our time in Vieques! The space is well thought out and comfortable. Highly recommend!

  • We stayed at Rosie and Donald's place for 5 days and we we were very comfortable there. The place is prepared for any visitor having beach chairs, umbrellas, lots of toys, board games, towels and whatever you may need. You'll also find mosquito repent, which you'll need if you plan to sit in the garden, though as all doors and windows have nets they don't get in.There are two bedrooms and beds are comfortable. Aircon units do a good job and additionally every room has fans. Closest beach is a 2 minute walk away but there are lots of beaches on the island and you need to try some to see which works best for you. We enjoyed Plata and Luna the most. There are some good restaurants and bars withn 5 min walk. Closest shop and bakery are just round the corner though don't expect a massive selection of products. The island is relaxing and perfect for spending lazy days at a beach. I'd stay at the house again if I was to visit Vieques.

    Anna2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, cozy house supplied with everything you’ll need. Would definitely stay here again.

    Samantha2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Casita Rosita. It was just perfect for our family and we were so comfortable it was truly like a home away from home. A huge thank you to our hosts for a beautiful stay, and for arranging an extended check out with us. We would very much like to come back again!

    Alicia2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Short walk to everything! Rosie and Donald are great hosts!

    Aletha2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Rosita was more than we could have hoped for in a home away from home! The rooms were very comfortable and the back porch with it's beautiful little garden area was a delight! The house had absolutely everything we would ever need and we were right around the corner from the grocery store! Games and puzzles kept us busy on a rainy day and the owner's guidebook for the island was very helpful! We will definitely book here again! (....And if you book here, you MUST order the coconut flan at Banana's restaurant! It's the best!)

    Rochelle2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great Airbnb, so glad we chose this place. Very cute and comfy home in a beautiful island. Much nicer than expected backyard perfect for drinking wine after a long day.

  • I wish I could leave greater than a five-star rating! Aurelio's place was just perfect for our group of five. He volunteered to pick us up from the ferry and take us to his house, then the following morning provided transportation to pick up our golf carts. At the end of our stay he made sure we had a way to get back to the ferry. The place was stocked with many extra amenities that we totally didn't expect. There were lots of beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, books to read, board games, and on and on! Very close to lots of restaurants, across the street from the beach and the lovely malecon. The pool and landscaping are beautiful. Perfect! Excellent communication throughout and just a super nice guy. Highly recommend.

    Sandy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very conveniently located to "downtown" Esperanza, and far enough away from the loud ruckus of the party crowd, this home is just right for exploring the best Vieques has to offer. Aurelio is extremely responsive and helpful with recommendations. Definitely check out Esperanza Riding Company nearby, as well as Playa Negra (black sand beach).

    Patricia2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I wish I could give Aurelio more than 5 stars: he is amazing! He is the kindest, most helpful and honest host ever and you will love his place. You can walk to everything in Esperanza, the house is well stocked with beach gear, towels and kitchen essentials. And he included thoughtful touches like a welcome basket of goodies to kick your vacation off right (I mean the fridge was stocked with beer, piña colada fixings and ice, Woot! Woot!) Aurelio shared local knowledge of beach gems, rental cars, restaurants and tours. You will love your stay and we will definitely be coming back!

    Amy2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Aurelio is an amazing host. He picked us up at the ferry and he also arranged for a rental car for us. We didn't reserve one, but he had a friend that loans them out. You will need one!

    Scott2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Aurelio was a great host and very helpful and accommodating. He gave us lots of great tips on what to do and where to go during our stay. The house was in a great location and walking distance to bars, restaurants, and beaches. Or just a short drive to other restaurants and beaches. The pool area was amazing and so great to have after a long day out and about. Would highly recommend this house.

    Heather2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place is spectacular. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, silverware 🥄, oven, microwave, etc... all you need is bring the groceries. The pool area is great with a lot of privacy and a grill with everything you need for a great BBQ. The location is super!! It is located about 2 minutes walking distance from the malecón where are all the good restaurants and night life!! I’d definitely go again!! The host is very accessible and responds very quick to messages and/or texts.

Perfect location! Oceanfront and convenient to everything. The rooms are island cool- simple, clean and easy, with hand painted tropical themes. Great Continental breakfast included. Short walk to a gorgeous mile long beach, lined with palm trees. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. A gem for savvy travelers!
  • Exactly what it says it is. Fantastic location and a beautiful island. Very friendly hosts!!

  • Absolutely fantastic place to stay- right across the street from the ocean and literally right next to a little strip of restaurants! So amazing! The beach was incredible- we even saw Lip from Shameless walking around the strip we were on!!! So fun! I recommend the Airbnb and for snorkeling/bio tours we loved salty spirit!!!

Tiny cozy house few steps from a wonderful secluded beach, will be shared with a native viequense woman. Perfect to experience the tranquil life of Vieques.
Private room in tiny house steps from beach. Includes shared full equipped kitchen and shared bathroom.
Beside a wonderful beach, just walking distance we also have Morales grocery store, gas station, farmer's market (2 days in the week), and few locals restaurants as Bigotes, El Rincón del Sabor food park, and El Cotorrito, also La Gran Parada local bar. 5 minutes driving from ferry's terminal and airport.
  • Kiani was a wonderful host and communicated very well. The place was exactly what I was looking for and had plenty of little amenities that were appreciated like plenty of towels, sunscreen, a lunch box, basically everything you would need for a day at the beach. Would definitely recommend!

    Jacob2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kiani and her partner were such kind hosts. They provided me with everything I needed. Their place is so cute and so is their dog. They continuously made me feel welcomed and cared for. I loved my stay here!

    Andrew2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you are looking for a true and authentic stay in Vieques, this is the place for you. As others have stated before, being an animal lover is a requirement for staying here. Her dogs are so sweet and friendly, but we took a special liking to the pig. The rooster will wake you up bright and early in the morning which I loved (but if you aren’t a fan, Kiani does provide ear plugs!) This island is so special. We encountered lots of horses strolling by, and every day when we went to the beach (which is amazing, and a 2 minute walk from her home), there was a sweet local island doggy there to play and guide us. We decided to walk from the ferry, not terrible but definitely call ahead and rent a golf cart or Jeep. We wish we would have done that!! All in all it was an amazing stay.

    Cassidy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kiani was a great host. She helped us with our late check in, provided full amenities and was a very warm and welcoming person. We were able to talk lots about the history and logistics of the island and enjoy the beach near her house. Would definitely visit again.

    Alexey2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for an awesome stay with super friendly people than this is your perfect spot. I came as a guest and left as a friend. And during my stay Kiani and his partner Gustavo were always helpful when i needed help with anything about Vieques. Best of it all, because they are locals, you learn a lot about the island from first hand. The place is only a minute away from a secluded beach, which you should definitely visit. The room is a little tiny but has three windows, and makes you feel like you’re over the clouds as the soft breeze makes you sleep like a baby.

    Ege2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kiani's place is a gem being close to the beach and we really enjoyed our stay. Muchas gracias!

    Christine2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is small but very comfortable, clean, safe, quiet. Well located, near Isabel, local restaurants, golf car rental, and beaches. Kiani and Gustavo are very friendly, talkative and attentive. Recommended!

Esperanza. Cute private 1 Bedroom Guesthouse with full kitchen, a/c, and shared backyard gazebo with grill. Laundry facilities, beach chairs & towels and cooler included. In town location in the upper west corner of Esperanza, away from the hustle and bustle. About a 10 minute walk to restaurants, shops, and Bio-bay tour pick-ups on the Malecon. Walk to Sun Bay beach and Playa Negra. One off-street parking spot out front.
Note the backyard & gazebo area is a shared space with the separate rental casita. Full space can be rented for complete privacy.
Esperanza is the main tourist "hub" of Vieques. Our house is on a quieter back street, a ten-minute walk to the Malecon, with its beach access, restaurants, and the bio bay tour pick up spot. Walk to town for a few drinks in the evening or to meet up with the Bio bay tours! Please note - the walk is a little hilly in places!
  • Everyone should check out Esperanza on Vieques. Caracas and Playa La Chiva are two of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The house was spotless. I’d say it’s a little under a quarter mile walk to the beach. There’s a tiny grocery store just around the corner if want to buy eggs, milk, etc. I would come back in a second.

    Andrew2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, comfortable space and a good value. Responsive hosts. Good location... quiet, but close to restaurants and markets. If you have a large group, it would be great to reserve both the main house and the casita. We would definitely stay here again!

    Kevin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and walkable to the restaurants, grocery store, bakery and beaches. If you’re looking for low key get-away where you feel like a resident rather than guest, this is a great place to stay.

  • Loved our stay. Place was clean and cozy. Aurelio was super nice and helpful. Met us at the airport and led us to the place in our rental cart. Very enjoyable time.

    Alex2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a blast staying at Dave & Michelle's place. The location is great - only a short walk down to the restaurants in Esperanza, and many beaches a short drive away. Aurelio the property manager met us for check in and gave us a bunch for good tips for our stay. There were thoughtful amenities like beach chairs and beach towels for our use as well. Would definitely recommend!

    Bing2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Dave and Michelle’s casita! It is in an excellent location. So close to restaurants and night life but far enough away to feel quiet and cozy. The casita itself is a perfect place to relax between fun activities on the island. Their property manager Aurelio was very welcoming and helped us with any questions we had. I would highly recommend staying here while in Vieques!

    Rebecca2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! The casita was very clean and very well equipped. The bedding was really good and the bed very comfortable. Aurelio, the house manager, was kind and available.

Our affordable rooms are beautifully decorated and offer all the amenities you need for a beach vacation. A 10 min. stroll through the neighborhood takes you to the beach, restaurants and local shops. Lovely views are enjoyed from our roof deck.
Villa Coral offers cozy, shared spaces within a tastefully decorated villa. We are a no-fuss, great location for those who enjoy reading a novel and relaxing.
We are located in Esperanza. A short, 10 minute walk will take you to the "Malecon", a walkway built right on the coast where restaurants, shops, water sports, and the beach can be found. Being on the highest street of the neighborhood gives us refreshing breezes year-round and lovely views from the roof deck. Also, we are a more quiet option for travelers who want to avoid the noises of the strip, where weekend nights can be lively. Villa Coral is a wonderful, affordable place for those who want to relax, yet still awake to the local culture.
  • Mireya was a sweetheart and was extremely helpful for me

  • My wife and I stayed at the Villa Coral Guesthouse for our anniversary trip and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small but very nice, the staff was amazingly friendly and the location was nice and quiet while at the same time only a 5 minute walk to the bars and restaurants in Esperanza. We can definitely recommend it!

  • Great place, good value for money. Location was perfect for the Bio tour. The owners were very responsive and provided fantastic assistance when I came across the issue of not being able to book a taxi. Thank you guys!

  • Great location in Esperanza to get around to all the beaches. Favorite addition was a little cooler to help keep our drinks cold throughout a day of beaching!

    Christian2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a great experience at Villa Coral. When we arrived, we were very efficiently accommodated and given suggestions for the town of Esperanza. The hotel is a little further into the residential neighborhood of Esperanza, about a 10 min walk from the main strip, which was fine for us, and was very comfortable and clean. The terrace outside of the rooms has a lovely view and is a great place to sit and relax (and also has the best wifi on the property). But the most impressive part of our stay were the interactions we had with the hotel staff. When we had questions, someone was always there with a prompt answer. Our room was tidied and our bed made every day. They even arranged our taxi to the ferry when we left and provided a number for any further taxi usage. When we lost power for a day because of the earthquake in the south of Puerto Rico, they promptly communicated with us and kept us updated about when we could expect power again. Overall, a great experience.

    Emily2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mireya and staff were extremely helpful! As soon as we arrived, Mireya greeted us with a warm welcoming smile and checked us in. After check in, she highlighted restaurants in town and numerous stores for grocery’s. All in all, we would DEFINITELY stay here again if we come back!

    Stephanie2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mireya reached out to us before our arrival and was quick to respond. She made us feel welcomed upon arrival and gave us a lot of local tips.

  • Amazing space. Great location, view, and atmosphere. Alysa was very responsive and helpful. Felt very secure in the apartment. I’d give this spot 6 stars if I could.

    Anthony2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • View and location are completely unbeatable. Such a blast and so convenient. The porch pics are exactly how it is - overlooking endless blue. The beach equipment you can borrow is also so nice and so helpful, the book of local tips is perfect, and check in and communication with Alysa was so fast and easy. As clearly noted by the host (and totally beyond her control), partying on the malecón is the real deal. Friday night had some bumping music but was tolerable for sleep... Saturday was bonkers. So just be aware if you’re a light or medium sleeper that staying here on the weekend might not be the best for for you. Enjoy Vieques - it’s a dream! Thank you, Casa Flamboyan.

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the Flamboyan guesthouse. The room was spotless, it was in the perfect location, and the owners were responsive and helpful in every way. They provide you with a ton of information about the island as well as everything you need for a day at the beach. It’s so nice to sit on the deck and watch the sunset, and the restaurant downstairs is delicious too! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a cute place to stay in Vieques.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Flamboyan Guest House #3. Communication with Alyssa prior to our stay was excellent and she had great tips for us especially regarding transportation. The location was perfect! Easy access to many beaches, restaurants, and small convenience stores. The room was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. We loved our rooftop deck for enjoying our morning coffee and evening wine. We would love to return!

  • Cannot say enough good things about this place! I was a little worried it would be too loud being above a restaurant but could not hear the restaurant operations at all! You could hear noise on the street as you fall asleep, but the provided ear plugs were magic! Slept so well and enjoyed our stay here. Great location, great good, and a fun time!

At ground level you will find a cement platform that offers a gas grill, underneath the balcony is an outdoor shower for after the beach, and a washing machine under the steps so you can pack light. Plus, beach chairs, beach cooler, and REAL beach towels!!!. The 1/4 acre yard is shared with another house, yet there is more than enough space for privacy for both places with outdoor areas and safe parking. In all, once you're here you're family and we will be happy to host you and share local tips to help you make your vacation an enjoyable one!!!
Studio Esperanza is less than 2 blocks from the Malecon so you can easily walk to the restaurants, bars, shops, and beach within 7-10 minutes, yet it is far enough way from the action and tucked into the yard so that it is a very quiet area except for the roosters that occupy all of Esperanza and the occasional dog barking. Very safe and secure with a front gate and the property is fenced in all around.
  • Michelle and Juan have a great apartment and were super friendly and helpful. You can walk to any of the restaurants in Esperanza but the noises at night are crickets, frogs, and dogs. And in the morning a few too many roosters :-) The apartment has anything you need and is great for 1 person or a couple. They also rent out a few cars and kayaks and Juan can take you to the bioluminescent Bay (amazing!!!). Michelle has a great knowledge of the island and things to do. We were there when they declared the çovid19 state of emergency and Michelle was very helpful in relaying the changing situation. Hope that will calm down soon so people can enjoy Vieques and stay with Michelle and Juan.

  • Book this place! Our stay was truly perfect. Michelle offered great local tips and helped make sure we got to experience everything the island had to offer. We also rented a vehicle from her and have already gotten our deposit back. The studio felt safe and was within walking distance of lots of restaurants and the waterfront. It was immaculately clean; not a grain of sand was in the studio when we arrived. Vieques is magical and having Michelle as our host helped us make the most of our time there.

    Rachel2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Juan were thoughtful and enthusiastic hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the island and take time to share tips and offer additional services (car, kayak, snorkel gear) to allow you to explore on your own. The studio was clean and had all the necessary amenities. You may find the bugs a bit bothersome, but that is part of the island experience unless you’re spending all your time at the big, less secluded beaches. Overall, we would recommend booking with Michelle and Juan for a great experience.

    Byron2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodations. Very clean and bigger than expected. Both beds sleep very well and the wind is peaceful. Very accommodating to our needs. Highly recommended!

    Matt2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was friendly, communicative from the time we booked, attentive and super informative about the island. She offered us everything we could need and the studio was a lovely space. Great host, great island.

    David2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • You will receive a very friendly welcome from Michelle, who has lots of information about the island, the beaches, restaurants, and activities. The studio is very clean and spacious with a comfortable bed.

    Susan2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here!! Michelle's place is in the perfect location in Esperanza. We rented one of Michelle's cars for our stay to drive to and from the different beaches and explore the island but in the evenings we were able to walk into town for dinner. The studio has a good kitchen so you can also cook at home. Vieques is amazing and Michelle's recommendations were the best. She explains all the pros and cons of different beaches, snorkeling spots, etc. We hope to come back to Vieques sometime soon and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Michelle made our vacation seamless and provided everything we needed. In addition to staying at the studio we rented one of her cars, she picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, we rented a snorkel, and did the private bio bay tour (highly recommend you do this!! It was the best - we spent 2 hours kayaking at night on our own and got to skip the tour groups). There was also a good outdoor shower and beach chairs, towels, beach sheet, and cooler for us to use. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

    Jane2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Studio in Vieques was great - but mostly because Michelle made it so easy. We booked late, and were dismayed to find all the rental cars (and golf carts, and mopeds) booked during our stay. But then - Michelle offered us a car! She also picked us up at the airport, dropped us off at the airport, gave us great advice about the best beaches, and introduced us to her husband, Juan, who took us out to the bio-bay in a relaxed not-a-tour fashion. I’m sure we would have had a good time if we had stayed elsewhere in Vieques, but I’m glad we stayed at Michelle’s studio. A final note about the apartment itself: it’s perfectly situated (a quick walk into town) and perfectly outfitted (my favorite touch was the drying rack for your wet beach clothes). It’s a nice size (for a couple; it’s one room, ie, a studio) and very, very clean. Enjoy!

Casa de Kathy is located in the coastal neighborhood of Esperanza, two blocks from the famous "malecon" or boardwalk where you will find the beach and restaurants. You can walk one block to a bakery and convenience store. The houses are painted vibrant colors, lush vegetation abounds, and dogs, cats, chickens, roosters and horses roam our streets. Our people are friendly and helpful.
  • Kathy's space and hosting exceeded all expectations. She had up to date information on Vieques, great recommendations, and excellent connections within the community. She was always available to answer questions and get us anything we needed. The kitchenette in the studio apartment was perfect for heating up pre-made food and keeping leftovers from restaurants in the fridge. The bed is on the softer side (for those who want to know), and the apartment was very clean. There was a nice breeze coming through the windows. We enjoyed the morning sounds of roosters; for those who don't, Kathy even provides earplugs! She also provided helpful things like coolers, beach chairs, and snorkeling masks. We could see beautiful sunsets from the back terrace. The outdoor shower is a great touch, too! Would definitely come back here.

  • Kathy goes way out of her way to help you with all the local goings-on and anything you need to know about food beaches water diving restaurants anything

  • The studio at Casa de Kathy is the perfect cozy perch from which to explore this magical island. It has everything you need and is a model of simple, eco-friendly comfort. Kathy took me into the wildlife refuge and to beaches that I never would have discovered on my own. She is a very caring host who knows the island like a native and is ready to help you make the most of your time here. Lots of great books and maps in the apartment and a generous aray of amenities and supplies. I was honored to meet Kathy, whose activism helped close the Navy base that is now Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. Kathy is an angel in real life!

    Beth2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy is a very attentive and thoughtful host who participates in the Vieques community. Therefore, she is the best person to go to for advice on things to do and current events on the island. Definitely check out her website/emails as they are full of useful information. We had a great experience staying at her studio apartment, it was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The studio itself is bigger than it looks. The apartment is also within a short walking distance to great beaches and restaurants, but far enough that you won’t be kept up by the nightlife, which we appreciate. We had a great time and it was an amazing stay!

    Alejandro2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Came here with my girlfriend for 4 days. Kathy has been living on the island for years and is a great informative source on just about anything you want to know about Vieques/PR. The one bedroom we stayed in had a soft clean bed, roomy shower, AC and fans. It was perfect for what we needed since almost all of the time spent in Vieques was on a beach or on the malecon. Would stay here again!

    Reginald2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This studio apartment is located in Esperanza, the major tourist hub in southern Vieques (a 15 minute drive from the ferry/airport). The location is residential but only a short walk to stores, restaurants and several beaches. Kathy is a superb host who lives on the premises. She is very friendly and helpful, and cares deeply about Vieques as evidenced by her local activism. She was always accessible either in person or by phone. Her website is a great reference tool for planning a trip to the island. The studio apartment was clean, modern and well furnished. AC, fans and wifi all worked well. There were no safety or noise issues. Parking is easily available on the street. Kathy provided snorkeling gear free of charge. This is a superb AirBNB owned by a superb host. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vieques.

    Anthony2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Casa de Kathy is in a great location, just a few blocks off of the main strip in Esperanza. The space was super clean, and between the comfortable bed, the high powered fans and all windows, I slept amazingly well (there is a/c but I didn’t need it)! There were tons of thoughtful touches, like books, board games, snorkeling equipment, a Brita filter in the fridge and plenty of extra towels. Kathy is a fantastic host with a wealth of knowledge about the island. There was a book full of her recommendations in the room, and she was happy to offer additional support and advice throughout my stay when I needed it. She connected me with local drivers and tour guides, let me know about a party at a restaurant with amazing live music, went above and beyond to help me retrieve my phone when I lost it on the beach one day 🙄, and even took me to a couple beaches that would’ve been hard to reach on my own. I would have seen and experienced a lot less of this beautiful island if I’d stayed elsewhere. I’m sad that I was only there for four days but am already looking forward to my next visit!

    Laura2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, private space with everything we could need in a good location that was walking distance to the tourist strip and lovely beaches. Kathy was very communicative about everything and was responsive whenever we had any questions. She had many great local tips. We would definitely stay here again.

This house is located in Esperanza, a small artsy fishing village. It is the best of both worlds as it is located close to the the Malecon (the beach strip), while being situated on a quiet residential neighborhood. It has a view and many amenities (see photo descriptions for details). The manager is happy to help you plan your trip. Please check out our reviews!
This updated 2 bedroom one bathroom house is located on a quiet residential street close to the Malecon where you are close to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and places to arrange for bio-bay tours, scooters, golf carts, and jet skis, as well as Coco and Esperanza beach. The location provides a central location to some fantastic Caribbean beaches at Sunbay (1.5 mi.) and Playa Negra (1.7mi). Renting transportation is recommended. It has a queen bed and a twin in one bedroom and a double bed and a twin in the other. It is the perfect place for a couple with children or 2 couples, but it will sleep up to 6. See photo descriptions for house amenities. This home offers off-street gated parking, a full kitchen for cooking, spacious living and dining areas, and a lovely front porch with a view of the mountains behind Esperanza. You can also catch a great sunset.
The house is located on a very safe residential street. It is a quiet with many local residents. It is perfect to have peace and quiet at home, but be close to the nightlife and activities of the Malecon. Like most of Vieques, when you sit on the front porch, you will most likely see dogs, chickens, cats, horses, and we have a McCaw that hangs out on the electricity poles in front of the house.
  • This place was exactly as described, which was wonderful. No surprises. Clean, comfortable, beachy decor and well stocked. Communication was great. Location was perfect for us...close enough to easily walk to the malecon and beaches, but away from the restaurant/bar noise. We recommend and would stay again. Thanks!

  • My wife and I have been visiting Vieques for many years and have stayed in a number of different rental houses on the island. Josh's house is a very traditional Vieques house with a number of modern updates. The fact that the house is an easy walk to the Malacon in Esperanza is a major plus, and having two sets of snorkeling gear as well as beach chairs, for us was a great amenity. If you are looking for a clean, quiet (except for the neighborhood roosters ;~) ) comfortable place to stay while you visit paradise this is it. Note of caution...if your not careful, the air conditioning in the bedrooms will freeze you. I highly recommend this house and Josh as a host.

    Patrick2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great and looks/feels much better and bigger than the photos. Very comfortable, very clean, with just about every modern appliance that you’ll ever need. Josh responded very quickly to all of our questions. Our family of 6 (4 ting kids) was very happy there. We will definitely return.

  • This place is the perfect location to stay on Vieques! You're in a local neighborhood that allows you to feel like a local, however you're just close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants where you'll find other tourists. The space was great and the AC in the bedrooms were a lifesaver. Josh had everything you could think of for a beach day and the provided beach towels were the cherry on top. I would highly recommend this spot if you're visiting Vieques!

    Mikayla2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Josh’s spot. About a 10 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants in Esperanza. Recommend bringing earplugs as it can get a bit loud in the neighborhood. The rooms do have noise cancelling devices which work really well. Thanks for an incredible stay!

    James2020-02-04T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed at Casa Limon and simply put, it was amazing. Jeffrey met us at our rental car at the ferry terminal right when we arrived, drove ahead of us to show us how to get to the property, gave us recommendations on where to go, showed us how to turn on the various lights and fans. The fridge was stocked with wine, beer, and cold waters, which after a long day of travel was so incredibly thoughtful and nice. Stephanie kindly provided an additional air mattress so that my 2 teenagers wouldn't have to sleep in the same bed. The property is impeccably maintained, the view from the verandah are so lovely, and the pool was amazing to stargaze from. My expectations were blown away. Thank-you to Stephanie, Jeffrey, and Joey for making our stay in Vieques so great! I only wish we could have stayed longer.

  • A special experience on a special island. If you're staying for a few days, this space is in a private area which can access everything you need for a great trip. We rented a jeep and it helped us to make the most of our stay on the island. The space has just about everything you need to settle right in and start enjoying your trip. The manager, Joey can really help you make the most of your time. No air conditioning may jump out at some people as a red flag but my family and I used blankets every night:) Go to Vieques and stay here.

  • Wow!! Amazing views, amazing pool, great location! Honestly, this Airbnb was a very enjoyable part of the trip. We fell asleep with all the beautiful sounds of the night and woke up to horses grazing the yard. The communication was fantastic and they even picked us up at the car rental place and led us to the house. We will definitely stay here again!! Thank you for everything!

  • Oreanda- Casa Limon... amazing Casa on a hillside. Best view with the feeling of being outdoors. Paradise in paradise. We will definitely be back.

  • This place is perfect. 10 out of 10. Everything from the property manager, Tyler, to the amazing island was perfect. Tyler met us at the airport, drove us to the rental car place, and guided us to the Airbnb. Tyler than sat down and showed us a bunch of key places on a map. He was awesome. The property is great. It is secluded and has an amazing view. If yo are worried about it not being ocean side, don't be. Everything is within a 15-20 minute ride on a rugged golf cart (which is perfectly adequate for the entire island if you are wondering). The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so it worked well. They even had items such as bug spray and coffee. It made it feel like home. If you are looking for a place on Vieques to stay, pick this one.

Pura Vida is a 3 bedroom home with 100% AC on a quiet and safe street in Esperanza, Vieques. We are one block to the Malecon (ocean front Caribbean), a quick & less than 5 minute walk. We are baby and kid friendly and also offer a Honda Pilot 8 seat SUV.
Pura Vida is an inviting home located in Esperanza, the quaint fishing town of Vieques as well as the most popular tourist area. The three bedroom, one bath house is located in a great neighborhood, only 1 block, or less than a 5 minute walk, to the Malecon. There is a lack of rental cars on Vieques, and if not reserved ahead of time, they may all be sold out. Avoid being left without a car to explore Vieques. Our SUV has three rows of seats holding 8 passengers. If you are a larger group staying at Pura Vida, an 8 passenger SUV negates the need to rent two vehicles, you can everyone fit in one SUV, thus saving you money on both rental fees, gas etc. We do charge extra for the SUV, please inquire and I will promptly respond with the rate. We are baby and child friendly! At Pura Vida we have a Pack N Play crib, child booster seat for feeding (works well instead of high chair), Britax car seats, booster style car seats, and stroller. We may also have a beach toys, child snorkel gear, books, games and puzzles to keep kids entertained. That is if they aren't worn out after a long day at the beach. We are happy to provide these child amenities to our guests free of charge, pending no abnormal damage to them. Each bedroom has a TV with Roku streaming media device. There is also a Blu Ray DVD player, vast library of adult and children DVDs, Playstation 2 and Wii with games for you to enjoy. Although we offer a SUV, our convenient location allows one to easily enjoy much of what Vieques has to offer without driving. Stroll to dinner and dine overlooking the Caribbean, grab a drink at one of the oceanfront bars, spend the day at the park, or experience the beauty (and nightlife) of Esperanza Beach and the Malecon, all within walking distance. There are roosters in virtually all of Esperanza and Vieques as a whole. Locals living around Pura Vida, and many residences in Esperanza and Vieques, have roosters. You can hear roosters during the day at Pura Vida and most everywhere in Esperanza. Around dusk they are silent. With the AC running they are virtually inaudible within the house. Most guests have reported roosters don't bother them and they get used to it. Therefore we want to make it clear that roosters do exist on Vieques and the neighborhood.
We love the fact we can walk to the Malecon (oceanfront bar, restaurant and gift shop area). If some people in your party are getting ready and others want to walk down, it's very easy to do. The neighborhood is also very safe. Part of Puerto Rican culture revolves around roosters, from show to fighting. Most people report roosters don't bother them and they get used to it. Therefore we want to make it clear that roosters do exist on Vieques and the neighborhood.
  • We can not recommend Pura Vida enough! The home has literally everything you need to enjoy your vacation, and the location is perfect! You’re close to the beach, the Malecon, and the market for necessities! The beds are comfortable and clean, the kitchen is so incredibly well stocked it will make you laugh (it really has everything), and the front porch is the stuff early morning coffee drinking dreams are made of. Jeff was an astoundingly gracious host, easy to communicate with, and generous with his lovely home. We would recommend Pura Vida to any kind of traveling group - young, old, families, first timers to the island or returning adventurers - this is one of the very best locales on Vieques! We hope to return again in the near future.

    Katherine2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with the host. The added things in the house are thought out and can come in handy (car, Roku, wifi, kitchen essentials, towels). I will be back!

    Stephenie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a Super Host is all about! Pura Vida is everything you need for your stay in Vieques. We rented Jeff's space for Labor Weekend, a very bussy but fun weekend in this piece of Paradise. Him and his staff were so responsive and attentive with us at all times, even finding us a new ride when we had trouble with the one we rented. Located perfectly, steps away from Esperanza Strip! The right place to grab something to eat, hang out with your friends or just enjoy a perfect sunset at El Malecón. I will definitely rent his place again!

    Glodemaris2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • What more can one say than when it was time for us to check out we DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE. Jeff’s place is a quick walk to the Malecon, the heart of Esperanza and the local beach. It is, also, a short drive to anywhere on the island even if it’s not since the drive is part of the adventure. Even then those drives are short. Jeff’s management team of Joe and Mimi, as was Jeff, we’re quick to respond with questions and needs. Joe, also, dropped off some information regarding fishing around the island for us and gave us pointers on snorkeling spots as well as hints on the beaches. As for the house itself it is clean and comfortable with all the usual amenities. The a/c works great and our family of four were very comfortable. It was also a plus having an outdoor shower. Also outdoors is a washer and dryer on the back porch which was another nice bonus. To quote the Terminator, “I’ll be back.”

    John2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described. The host and the property owner were both prompt in their replies. The house was clean & felt safe. I will come back with my children.

    Crissy2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Pura Vida. We were going with 4 kids and we found everything we needed for them. There were boardgames, beach toys, crib, carseats...you name it and they had it! That was very helpful for us. The house is located very close to the Malecón and to beautiful beaches. Having the car was a plus. Joe was an excellent help! He gave us a map of the island marked with all the important things we needed to know and answered all our questions about the island. We would definitely recommend this place!

    Widy2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you are wanting to stay in Esperanza Pura Vida is a fantastic option that is a very short walk to the Malécon. The caretakers of the home spoiled us with three varieties of mangoes from their yard and even supplied extras to put out for the wild horses. Communication was excellent and it was really nice to have access to Netflix for the kids. A binder is supplied that lists all of the best beaches, restaurants, etc. The front porch comes with two hammocks and excellent seating and was a nice place to relax and have a cold drink. The home behind Jeff’s has a backyard with lots of poultry, and the roosters can be noisy. The most sensitive sleeper should consider taking the front bedroom even though the AC muffles most of the noise and the two back bedrooms. All things considered, we would not hesitate to stay here again and hope to in the future!

    Jennifer2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff, the host, was responsive and helpful. The house was clean. The AC worked really well. The house is located in the best place. Right near all the restaurants and a great swimming beach. One of the best things about Pura Vida, are the caretakers. Joe and Mimi were very helpful. Joe gave us a lot of helpful information. Not just about the island, but about our return flight and transportation. Joe offered great suggestions on where to swim and snorkel. We made it to all the beaches Joe suggested, and we had a blast at all of them. It would have been a good experience without all of Joe's information, but having Joe greet us and provide us with so much knowledge took all the stress out of it.

  • Everything was wonderful and so clean. We really appreciated the extra touches like stepstools for the kids, nightlights, and all the beach gear! The manager was wonderful and attentive. Since our trip got cut a day short thanks to the coronavirus, we will definitely have to plan a return trip and I hope to be able to stay at this house again!

  • Me and my friends had a great time here. Plenty of space, location was great, and Tony and Donna made everything extremely easy. I highly recommend staying here if you want the best Vieques experience.

    John2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mango Tango is a great place for walking to Esperanza restaurants. Close to basic groceries, and EXCEPTIONALLY well - stocked with cooking and beach supplies. The outdoor deck is a wonderful place for morning coffee and evenings. Pichie greeted us and showed us everything as soon as we arrived.

    Robin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for hosting us! Our group of 5 had a lovely time at Mango Tango. We all wished we could have stayed there longer! The house was clean and had everything we needed (toiletries/towels/beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, etc.) Pichi checked us in and gave us a thorough tour of the home. The house was also a short walk to restaurants and amazing view of the ocean and not too far from a grocery store. Would stay here again!

  • Wonderful location. Adorable place.

    Christal2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Donna's place is fantastic! It is comfortable, clean and has every amenity you can think of for a family vacation -- everything from beach towels, snorkel gear, coolers, etc. for the beach to art supplies, games, books and a great, well-stocked kitchen for when you're home. The location is great -- walking distance to the main drag in Esperanza and the beach, but far enough away to not hear the Saturday night parties. (You do hear lots of roosters though! You get used to it.). Pichi was right there for us at check in and was a great source of information -- he even bought milk for us when we were just getting our bearings. What a great space and location for our family vacation. I can't recommend it highly enough. One of the best Airbnbs I've stayed in.

    Laura2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome highly recommend. Place was cleaner than a 5 star hotel, in a great quiet location a shed full of every beach item you could possibly think of plus more all available to use. The house attendant was super friendly as well as the owner. We loved this place thank you so much!

    Adam2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place just a couple blocks from the ocean. The house is super clean and was climate controlled. Two bathrooms for ease of use. Tons of social areas. They also have a shed out back that is filled with beach stuff (coolers, floats, chairs, etc) to use. Picci gave us a good overview when we checked in. Sun Bay is an easy walk and we stopped at the Green Store to fill the cooler on the way there most days. Highly recommended!

  • Great for a nights stay and with connections to a biobay tour! Thank you! Close to everything and very helpful.

  • Nice hostel with clean bathrooms/showers and kitchen area. There's a complimentary breakfast with oats, bread, and jelly. Great location and I didn't mind the music from Lazy Jack's. Everything is outside so the bathrooms/showers, kitchen, and rooms are separate.

    Katarina2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • As described this inn is a little gem in the area. Relaxed atmosphere, people on the island know the place well and the staff always gives good advice. The bar and their very affordable price. Little problem, there is no wi-fi in the rooms. Must go in the common area!

    Montserrat2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very hospitable and lovely!

    Missy2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a diamond in the rough! I took the wrong ferry and ended up on Vieques when my friends, car, luggage and Airbnb went to Culebra. I had nothing on me but what I carried on the (wrong) ferry and the Lazy Hostel took me in, got me fed and happy at the bar while I met locals and travelers alike. An amazing experience that you don’t wanna miss. Thanks, Lazy Hostel!! Y’all will be seeing me again ♥️

Many go on vacation to leave the worries of daily life behind. But Casa Baraka is not a place to forget, it is a place to be reminded of the beauty that constantly surrounds us. We hope that our guests will feel at peace and enjoy the connection to nature which our home offers.
Casa Baraka is in one of the safest neighborhoods in Vieques. We are located conveniently close to one of the island's main routes, Route 200, but are tucked away enough that there is NEVER traffic on our street.
  • Loved the stay at Casa Baraka- located centrally and included essential amenities for beach activity. Hosts were thoughtful and communicated quickly, the space was stylish, clean, and well thought out- the outdoor shower is a great touch. Just the right atmosphere for a relaxing few days in Vieques.

    Jesse2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Baraka is such a special and unique place. Ed is a fantastic, accommodating and friendly host and we loved getting to know him during our stay. He gave us so much information about things to do on the island which I always love when an Airbnb host goes out of their way to ensure we have a great time. The Casa Baraka property is beautiful with all the lush plants and trees and very well taken care of. The outdoor sitting / lounge areas were so pretty to chill at night and so peaceful to sit at in the morning as we drank our coffee. Ed provided us with everything we needed for the beach too- chairs, towels, snorkel gear, beach umbrella, and a cooler. The room we stayed in was super clean and very spacious. Kitchen had all the basics needed. The ONLY thing that was kind of a bummer was the spring-y mattress, making it hard for us to sleep comfortably, but it still was very clean with fresh linens etc. Other than that, everything was great! Thanks Ed for everything!

    Alex2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Baraka was wonderful! It was easy to get into town from there and the nearby beach was incredible. We loved the thoughtful touches - like the towels and chairs.

    Jessica2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a slice of paradise... we wish we would have rented it for our entire stay. It was perfect

    Amanda2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Baraka was a wonderful place to stay! Make sure you rent a vehicle early to get around the island. We rented a golf cart about a month early and that worked out. But we know when we were picking up the golf cart, they were booked solid. So plan ahead! I walked to El Gallito beach the first morning before we got the golf cart. It was an easy walk but just be listening for cars to stay safe along the main road (200). We had such a perfect trip! Eddie answered every question we had and even let us borrow beach and snorkel gear. We saw so many beautiful beaches and did the bioluminescent bay tour. It was all incredible and it was even better coming back to Casa Baraka. It was so peaceful. Such an oasis. Everything was perfect for us!

    Katy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment with a lovely outdoor space and garden area. Great location for exploring the island and wonderful host with great tips & recommendations.

  • Fantastic stay- will definitely return! Loved it and the entire trip

    Jane2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I am not sure why you would stay anywhere else on Vieques?! Eddy's place is simply perfect. It is a little removed from the "touristy" areas. So after being out & about all day, you come back to the beauty & solitude that Eddy's space has to offer. You need to rent a vehicle, no matter where you stay on Vieques (preferably a Jeep!), or you simply can not experience all the island had to offer. Casa Baraka has absolutely everything you could need all wrapped up in a cute little tropical paradise. The bed was comfortable, the outdoor shower was exhilarating, the decor is just perfect for the space, and the outdoor living room was our absolute favorite spot to sit and talk about our day while having a couple of beverages. Eddy is a fantastic host. He has great suggestions where where to go, he is kind & friendly, but never invasive. If you are debating, don't. Just grab it before you lose it to some other lucky travelers!

The perfect space for a couple, or solo traveler.
Dos Palmas Casita 1 Bdrm 1 Ba ground floor located in a residential neighborhood, about 1 1/2 blocks from the Malecon. Neighborhood is a mix of local residents and rental guesthomes. A fully stocked kitchen, King size bed in bedroom, with additional chairs for seating. A/C in bedroom if needed. Wifi & Smart TV. Front porch with seating, gated parking in driveway if you have a rental vehicle. Covered area in backyard with BBQ grill and seating. Outdoor shower in rear of house. Guests will enjoy the ground floor, which has a full kitchen that is stocked with any utensil you might need for cooking in. Table and chairs for dining are in kitchen, the bedroom has a king size bed, with additional seating provided. A safe is also available for use should you feel the need for extra security for any valuables. The full bathroom has a nice sized shower and a closet for storage.
Our ground floor Apt. is located about a block and a half from the Malecon. Close enough for an easy stroll to & from, though far enough to not be affected by the occasional late night festivities. We are in a quiet residential neighborhood, with great neighbors, it's a mix of residents and guest homes. You will most likely hear roosters crowing and dogs barking as they are common in Vieques, as they are in other Caribbean Islands-for these times we do provide earplugs for your use.
  • Great location!! Close to the main strip without all the noise included. Very clean, great response time from the hosts...perfect jump off point to explore the island. Highly recommended.

    Jared2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, clean, friendly. Exactly as advertised. We would definitely do it again!

    David2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, less than 2 blocks from the water. One block from a great market and neighboring sandwich shop. Everything you need to cook or just ounce on the front porch recliners. Perfect for a couple.

    Jeremy2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The space is exactly as described and Angie/Chip were super responsive. Great location close to the Malecon (main dining strip) of Esperanza, Vieques and the main road to access the eastern beaches was a short drive from the apartment. The apartment had everything we needed for a few nights, and that we could have needed for an extended stay. There is a rental apt upstairs with a separate entrance as well. There is enough space for two rental cars in the drive way (one for upstairs and one for the lower apt). The laundry room and outdoor shower are good bonuses. We visited during the shoulder season and the island was uncrowded. Town was a little quieter than we expected but we enjoyed being the only ones on several beaches that we visited. While the island and area are definitely still rebuilding post-Hurricane Maria, there is certainly plenty to do and see in order to have a relaxing and cultural vacation in a beautiful environment. The Bio Bay tour we took was fantastic!!!!

    Lana2019-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chip & Angie's house is fantastic. Super location, very very clean, it has everything you need, they're very flexible, Mr Miguel is super nice; you can walk to some of the beaches and most restaurants. We will certainly go back!

    Monica2019-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chip & Angie's place was absolutely wonderful for our 2-person week in Vieques. The location of being 3 mins from the beach (and a corner store) was spectacular! The kitchen and dining area was spacious enough for us to prepare several meals, the provided snokel equipment and beach chairs were put to good use, and the bedroom was a perfect refuge at night. We would absolutely stay there again and/or recommend to friends.

    Claire2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The kind hosts, Chip & Angie, allowed us to stay a free extra night due to a tropical storm. The apartment was perfect with plenty of amenities and a very comfortable bed. The apartment was very clean and had plenty of room for two people. I would definitely book it again for my next trip.

    Star2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dos Palmas was a great place to stay during our trip to Esperanza, Vieques! The apartment was very clean and well equipped. We were able to cook breakfast and make lunch everyday without issue and put the beach chairs and coolers to good use during our daily beach trips! We really enjoyed the very short walking distance to the market and the Malecón! Chip and Angie were very easy to communicate with and extremely accommodating given our arrival mishap and the greeter, Miguel was very nice and informative! Would definitely recommend this place to future Vieques travelers!

  • The place was perfect to relax for our time in Puerto Rico.

  • Casa Namaste is an excellent place for exploring Esperanza. The Malecon is easily walkable from the house. The porches provided great spots to watch the sunset and even listen to the live music from one of the bars one night! We appreciated the bonus of a cooler, beach chairs and towels.

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Namaste Cafe was a wonderful experience for so many reasons. The host, Jennifer, went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, and that had everything we needed. The location was perfectly nestled in the beautiful neighborhood of Esperanza, close to multiple beaches. Everything we needed was in walking distance! We are already planning to stay again next year!

  • This place was super basic but exactly what we wanted and needed for our vacation. Lots of thoughtful touches were supplied and we really appreciated the ride from the ferry.

    Amanda2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfectly located a block off the malecon away from the noise but close enough to walk to restaurants, bars and local beaches within a few minutes. The space itself is cute and cozy. Perfect for my month stay solo.

    Nicolette2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is very cozy (perfect for 2) and super clean. Don't worry about packing beach essentials, they have all you need. Just around the corner you have a convenience store and a bakery. Waking distance from some of the best restaurants in Esperanza. Jenny (the caretaker) gave us a very warm welcome, she even picked us up at the airport and took us to the car rental. She was super nice and gave us really good tips.

    Yaritza2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We have now stayed in the studio at Casa Namaste twice. Richard has always been very responsive to anything we need. Jenny who manages the property is also amazing, checking in, offering tips, and being receptive to our needs. The home is on a cute street in Esperanza with amazing community. Such friendly people living around Namaste. It is a quick walk down hill into town where there are many restaurants and bars. The studio has everything you need, and nothing you don’t. It’s a great place to disconnect for the week and take in vieques. There are also great water views just outside on the studio deck and rooftop. Bed is comfortable, kitchen has anything you need to do some cooking if you want, bathroom is good, AC for when it gets really hot, and screened shutters to let in the breeze and allow you to hear the coquis at night. Little yard as well that is good for any pets. We will absolutely be back again!

    Vieques, Vieques, Puerto Rico

Encantada Vieques is a five acre estate bordering the Caribbean Sea, just west of Esperanza on the southern side of Vieques. This brand new home is an open-air luxury villa designed by famed architect John Hix to maximize your time spent enjoying Vieques' natural beauty. The home features absolutely stunning views of the Caribbean from every room, including five outdoor showers. Lounge in the 94 foot infinity pool, enjoy roof deck cocktails and walk down to Coco Beach. Book now, bring camera!
I legitimately believe this is the most beautiful place on the planet! So much so that my fiancé and I are were married here in February of 2019. So my money is where my mouth is, so to speak. And we would love to host you on your first (or next!) visit to Vieques. Encantada is an open air, concrete eco-luxury villa that combines indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly together and gives you true enjoyment of nature in a remote island paradise. There is absolutely no glass in the entire house, yet the temperature is perfect. Featuring a 94 foot infinity pool steps from the kitchen, dining and living space, and a two minute walk down to a gated beach entrance, this home is exactly what you've been waiting for and reading about experiencing in Vieques. Before you sleep you'll look up into the night sky and see the Milky Way, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter clearly and you'll realize how everywhere you usually travel has light pollution that ruins your star views. When you wake up in the morning you may see wild horses walking along the beach and hear waves crashing on the shore. At dusk, AKA "golden hour" you'll see the most beautiful sunsets reflected on the clouds and the coconut palm trees reaching up towards the sky west of the property. You will wonder why you should even leave for dinner at the phenomenal local restaurants when you could just cook hamburgers on the grill and drink beers and frozen drinks while the sun sets. OK, enough romance. Some quick facts about the house and property: - Encantada is a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk to Esperanza, the beautiful, sleepy fishing village on the southern coast that is quickly becoming the hub of tourism on Vieques and located next door to the future Zafira Hotel Vieques. - The home features 6,000+ square feet of living space and comfortably sleeps 16.
  • As a travel planner, the house and house management exceeded my expectations. Working with Karen, the house manager, was a breeze, and she made sure to answer all of my questions thoughtfully and promptly. The house itself is gorgeous and comes highly recommended for a group or big family. We also rented the smaller casita which was great so we could spread out a bit more. The only thing to note is that the beach in front of the house is pretty but not great to swim in as there is coral right at the edge, so bring water shoes or head to one of the other great beaches nearby for a swim. I will definitely recommend this house to anyone traveling to Vieques and hope to be back there myself soon, too!

  • Our group had the most amazing time. The house is beyond spectacular from the architecture to the amenities and views, this was seriously a trip of a lifetime. The pictures accurately portray the beauty of this space making it hard to imagine but it truly is better in person. Karen the property manager was wonderful and easy to communicate with and Tania & Daniel’s suggestions are spot on.

  • I spent a year researching and planning a trip for a large group of friends--and when I found Daniel and Tania's property, I knew we had to go. Within minutes of arriving, we knew we'd return. Our four days were filled with poolside drinks, evening stargazing, cooking homemade meals (our highlight meal was whole grilled red snapper), beach excursions, napping on the incredibly comfortable beds and couches, and basking in the tranquility of their beautiful property. The house had plenty of room for the ten of us, and was well-appointed with kitchen, pool, and beach accessories. Our memories of the ever-present soundscape of waves, breeze through the coco palms, birds and bugs will certainly call us back to Vieques before too long!

  • If you are mulling your choices of which home to rent while in the Caribbean look no further. You will not be disappointed.....you will be blown away. Just book it now. We spent 9 days at this fabulous property for my husband's 50th birthday with a group of friends and it was glorious. The home lends itself to large gatherings and celebrations and the setting is spectacular. It is simple in design and at the same time luxurious. Karen is the property manager and she is just terrific as well. Her communication is quick and she was able to assist us with a few things while we were there. Listen, I could go on and on but you should book the property now and see for yourself. Kudos to owners Daniel and Tania. Topnotch property. Thank you!

  • I would like to congratulate the host on such a wonderful property. My friends and I enjoyed every aspect of it. From the amazing sunsets on the rooftop, to grilling fresh lobster and fish pool side, and the amazing views from every bedroom. Every single room and area of the house was perfect and everyone had enough space to do what they wanted whether it was read or relax on the incredibly comfortable couches, cook and chill by the pool, or walk thru a beautiful garden down to the beach for a walk on the sand with view of the mountains. The house was amazing and the property manager was too, responsive and attending our needs immediately. I look forward to staying here with other groups of family and friends. Can’t wait for next time!

  • There are so many wonderful things to say about Daniel and Tania’s home! The wonderful view, the sunrises, the sunsets, the location, the amenities, the pristine pool, the rooftop terrace, the landscaping, the fully equipped kitchen to cook in, the huge fridge... we could go on. Our party of 8 had an unforgettable time. I don’t think any of us wanted to leave. Yes it’s an echo villa and there are bugs around so just prepare for that. It did not affect our stay. We cooked breakfasts and two amazing dinners, including a cookout in the grill. Everything came out delicious. We played card games and dominoes. Went on an amazing bio-bay excursion in see through kayaks recommended by the host. Karen is a delight to welcome you. We need to be back soon!

  • The house is so amazing, will always be in love with it! We're recommending it to all our friends. Hope to come back some day :)

    Manuela2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Truly spectacular!!! The house is better than the pictures. I do not want to say too much because I do not wan the price to go up. My concerns were the mosquitos and no A/C... and it was not a problem at all. Lots of fans and mosquitos are only around at dawn and sun down. We rented a Jeep but decided to stay in the house the entire time so we did not use the Jeep at all. We hired a chef to cater breakfast and dinner everyday... it was fantastic. Karen is very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed every space of the house.

  • Everything is awesome about this place, from the location to the little house itself with it's beautiful deck where we spent all our evening. We are definitely coming next year again and I'll try to book early to make sure this place is available. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on Vieques - this place has all we need, and we are very pick. A quick note about the cat. Onyx doesn't appear to be a stray cat: he wants to have a home. He followed me everywhere, especially to the kitchen. He would spend all the evenings with us, and waited for us at the door when we were out. He is very beautiful, with rather elongated paws, and he has incredible and rare eye color: bluish light sage. We couldn't take him with us since we already have a very old cat, but If I could - I would grab him while he is available. It's a very young cat, fun and loving.

  • Perfect balance of proximity to the Malecon while still feeling very private. Great place to relax when not at the beach! Highly recommend!

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, one block from everything in Esperanza, responsive hosts. If you Google maps the address it'll send you further away from the water than the place actually is so when you get there just start from the water!

    David2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Very convenient to el malecon, I walked everywhere and it was very easy. Very comfortable space! Onyx the cat was very sweet. Loved my time there, definitely sad to leave!

    Whitney2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and best side of the island. Definitely a Caribbean feeling. We rented a golf cart because cars were not available, no problem. Loved the horses and the roosters. Beds were good, and easy to sleep with no ac.

    Deborah2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Plenty of space and everything you need. One of the bedrooms is quite soundproof in case the chickens get too feisty. Also, there is a black cat that sleeps on the porch named Luna and she is super friendly! You will enjoy your trip in Esperanza if you stay here 🙂

    Dillon2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything you should expect near the Malecon. It was super close to all the bars/restaurants, but just far enough away to avoid the noise. We felt safe and comfortable here. Thank you!

Hurricane Update: We are currently hosting guests. Feel free to book. Gina and I look forward to hosting. My Penthouse apartment is perfect for a Vieques getaway! Its setup with 2 queen size beds, has a full kitchen, bathroom and separate living room. Its only a 5-10 minute walk to the Malecon (the main tourist strip) in Esperanza and is close to the Green Store, so you can pick up any needed supplies during your stay. We have the fastest wifi we can get, so guests can still be connected :)
Our penthouse apartment is located in a quaint three story building in the heart of Esperanza, called Acacia Guesthouse. Esperanza is a picturesque fishing village on the island of Vieques. The Penthouse is fully equipped with a modern kitchen, private bath, a beautiful tropical garden, and a shared rooftop deck with spectacular views of the Caribbean. The apartment is meticulously clean, beautiful, bright and airy with lots of windows and ceiling fans. We have furnished the Penthouse with 2 queen size beds, which is perfect for a group or two couples. The Penthouse is spacious and very open. Open all the windows and the breeze is amazing. We do have AC, so do not worry about the hot summer days. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. If we are missing something, please just ask and we will be happy to try and provide it for you. The bathroom has a stand up shower, with lots of light. You can actually open the shower window and view the Caribbean. We provide every guest with bath towels and beach towels. We even provide beach chairs for our guests to take to the beach. We just kindly ask that you rinse them off and return them after spending the day at the beach. At Acacia Guesthouse we have extra space to park several rental cars out front, including Jeep. If you are visiting Vieques to explore the wonderful excluded beaches (I hope you are), I would highly recommend renting a Jeep. You can get to many beaches by way of taxi, but the ones you HAVE to see the local taxi drivers will not take you that far. There are also several scooter rental companies on the island.
  • It was very good place! The room was so nice.
