  • What a wonderful home by the sea. Very clean, stylish fittings and all the comforts of home. Was tired of eating out so we shopped at the Providor in St Helens and cooked both days. This would be a great place to stay for a week to rest or take in the beautiful Bay of Fires area. Thank you again Jacob and Ricki, loved it 💗

  • If you’re looking for a place to stay near the bay of fires this is it, house is in a great location close to town but far enough away for it to be quiet. The place it’s self is lovely has been recently renovated it has a modern feel but feels very homey at the same time. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone.

  • Thank for you a beautiful stay! The apartment was so cute and we loved everything about it... I had one of the best night sleeps here during my whole trip in Tasmania! The house was only an 8 min drive to shops and about half an hour to bay of fires! If we ever do come back, we will definitely stay at your place again! Thanks again Jacob and a Ricki!

  • From the moment you turn into Saltwater you know you are someplace special. The Villa has a warm and inviting energy with everything you need for a cozy and romantic stay. We managed to cook all our breakfast and dinners in the small kitchen area and enjoyed them while sitting on our deck chairs overlooking the ocean. We walked along the coast each morning and drove to St Helens to see some sights, as recommended by Rita in her guest book. We enjoyed everything about our stay and look forward to returning on our next annual visit to Tassie!

    Deanna2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning location with clean, stylish and comfortable accommodation. Staying 2 nights gave us the opportunity to visit Freycinet National Park one day & St Helen’s & Bay of Fires the next. The most perfect location to wake up in and enjoyed the seclusion Saltwater offers. Our friends are all envious of the photos taken & want to visit too! We’d love to return one day.

  • Stunning place, the pictures are great but the actual place is amazing. There is nothing to fault, the views are amazing, the location is outstanding. I will return as it is a fantastic place to stay

    Marcus 2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This property is everything you could want for a visit to beautiful Bridport. Clean, spacious, good internet connection and close to Barnbougle (which is why I suspect many people are visiting the area like we did!) Also, the spa deck was simply sensational - a genuine point of difference and perfect way to end a long day hitting golf balls. Finally, it was a wonderful touch from our host to ensure the spa was heated in time for our arrival. Really appreciated this and the fantastic communication throughout!

    Alistair2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Smiles all round !

    Michael2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had 4 wonderful nights at the spa retreat, a golfing getaway with the girls. The property is very well maintained, modern bathroom, clean and well decorated. The outdoor deck was great, very spacious with filtered views of the ocean. It gave an extra dimension to the house. We didn’t use the spa, but we enjoyed relaxing there after a game of golf. Easy walk to the main township of Bridport, and an easy drive to the golf clubs. There was 4 of us staying at the house, and it was very comfortable. The property has only one bathroom and a separate toilet. I feel, if there was more than 4 people it would be a bit squeezy . Thanks Kaiden for opening your home to us. We will return. 😀😀

    Mary2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. View isn't as amazing as the photos though as bushes need to be cut back.

    Natalie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house with beautiful views, we really enjoyed our holiday in Bridport. Close to some really stunning beaches, cafes, supermarkets and fresh fish shops you don't have to go far if you are wanting to relax. The outdoor jacuzzi was a huge highlight for our 4 year old and it was so nice to cook dinner and relax on the outdoor couch while we watched the sunset. Kaiden's house has been very thoughtfully designed and decorated with all the modern cons. We will definitely stay again

    Binalong Bay, TAS, Australia

Quiet coastal village between Bay of Fires and Coles Bay. Designer built, bespoke, relaxed and comfortable Beach House. Ocean views, gourmet kitchen, open plan living space, large decks, wood fire's, cool bathroom, outdoor shower and funky 2nd bedroom sleep out. Please note, there are no Cafe's or shops, petrol stations etc in Falmouth its self. The nearest is St Marys or Scamander both 10mins, or St Helens 20 minutes, away all by car. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE
Falmouth is a special place on a unique Island ..... so relaxing ! Sheoaks is rich in style and comfort, we designed and built it and hope you love and enjoy it as much as we do. It's a great base for exploring the rest of the coast, North to the Bay of Fires South to Freycinet and every spot in-between. You can of course just hang out in Falmouth, beach combing, play tennis, go fishing or diving, swim in the warm waters of Henderson's Lagoon, go for a surf, ride your bike, or just relax around Sheoakes and read that book/magazine you've been meaning to. Or maybe just lie around the decks in the sun and look out for fishing boats, Sydney Hobart yachts racing down the coast or Southern Right and Hump back whales that drift by, sometimes breaching right in front of you depending on the time of the year. Cook up a storm in the gourmet kitchen, equipped with quality kitchenware. Gas hob, electric fan forced oven, Miele dish washer microwave, coffee etc, you get the picture. P.S. On a clear night the sky puts on a spectacular show .... the Milky Way - Enjoy !! PPS. Go to the bottom of Stiglitz Street, in front of the house is access to the “Coastal Walk “ which will take you along the coast to the headland, lagoon and beaches ....... beautiful !
Falmouth is off the east coast tourist trail so no street lights, no shops /petrol stations, has dirt roads etc, very quiet ........ it's great we like it like that. So come stocked up with food and wine. The nearest shop/petrol station is 10-15 min's away by car at St Marys or up the coast at Scamander. We are 3hrs from Hobart and 2 hrs from Launceston. 1 hour to Bay of Fires to the North and 1 hour to Frecinet Peninsula to the South. There is a great coastal walk, access is down the street in front of the house. This will take you to the beach, headland and Henderson’s lagoon.
  • Beautiful slice of paradise in Tasmania! Bob and Sarah’s place is so well designed and comes with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and romantic getaway. The coastal walk, massive kitchen, outdoor hammocks and indoor fireplace were some of our favorites!

    Abby2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our 3 night stay @sheoakes. We had an adventure packed trip in tassie including the overland and some derby mountain Biking, we were certainly ready for some relaxation. This was the perfect way to unwind completely for our last few days. We took a long walk along the beach to scamander one day which was nice and spent the rest of the time sipping wine, reading and cooking in the well established kitchen. The warm outdoor shower is a feature after a cold ocean swim ! As the hosts mention, worth stocking up with food and beverage prior. I would also recommend if possible doing so in as big a town as possible. The IGA in St. Helens May well be the most expensive grocery store I’ve experienced , Scottsdale was probably a better choice. All In all, great private space, hosts and location! We highly recommend.

    Julie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great house and a great stay. The wood fire was amazing, location perfect. Thank you Bob and Sarah

  • Such a beautiful place to stay near the Bay of Fires. It unfortunately rained our entire stay.. but that’s Tasmania for you! The place was very cozy during the storm and stayed very warm with the indoor fireplace. We were able to read and watch movies while watching the storm from the huge windows. The kitchen is beautiful and very easy to cook in with everything you would need. There are beautiful touches all throughout the house.. wish we could have taken advantage of the hammocks outside! Definitely would stay here again. Even more beautiful than the photos!

  • Such an incredible AirBnB!! Bob and Sara thought of everything in setting up this place, and the pictures don't do it it justice. The beach is stunning and was about a 5 minute walk from our front door. We'll definitely be back!

  • Crayfish Cottage was a delight to visit. The location is 2nd to none if you want some peace and quiet. A short drive into St Helens has all your needs covered. Walking on the beach in the late afternoon was great as we were the only ones using it. The cottage is well set out and everything (and I mean everthing) is close at hand. It is fantastic. The welcoming package was much appreciated. Caroline is the perfect host. We will be back.

    Frank2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great hideaway away from the daily hussle and bussle of life. Close to all the sights of a beautiful part of the East coast.

    Gemma2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little cottage is off the road but close to the beach and St Helens. We enjoyed the quite and both had the best sleep. One night we took a glass of wine and cheese to the beach, no one else was around it was just perfect. Wildlife abounds, we saw black Cockies. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need.

    Yvonne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy bush retreat ! Views of trees are panoramic, making the place so private and quiet. Very comfortable bed and great ammenities. Basic kitchenette but electric grill/ hot plate make cooking possible. Croissants for breakfast were yummy, however bring some extra condiments along as these were lacking (e.g. no butter or jam) Loved the crayfish theme extending throughout the whole cottage. Caroline is a great communicator and friendly host. Great place to stay!

    Kelsey2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, isolated place in the Aussie bush. Loved the birds and wallabies being so close. We had everything we needed. The walk down the driveway to the beach is worthwhile. Lots of lovely food extras were supplied too which was unexpected. Great place to relax.

Ansons Bay is a remote holiday village within the Bay of Fires. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Plenty to do, fishing, walking, touring around, playing cricket with the kids, read a book, or sit on the balcony with a wine and watch the stars. It's called paradise. You'll need to bring your provisions as the closest shops and fuel are 40 min to St Helens or 25 min to Gladstone with both roads being gravel. Ansons Bay has its own boat ramp and there is also a boat ramp at Eddystone Point.
  • Carol was welcoming and was very generous with special treats left for us to enjoy. She was also able to help with some local knowledge on where to explore. The kitchen was well equipped, beds and pillows comfortable with extra blankets if needed, spacious lounge room with wood heater (books and puzzles) and a good sized deck to sit and relax - for our party of 2 adults and 6 children. We found it to be a good base to explore the area and had stocked up on necessities at St Helens.

    Lisa2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful host thoughtful touches. Clean and nice. Loved my stay

    Michelle2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was a most helpful host and the house was great. Lots of space to relax after enjoying all the beach options.

  • Excellent hospitality; spacious; well appointed; lovely verandah; a place to enjoy peaceful time with friends - 3 bedrooms

    Gwyn2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Carol. From the local knowledge of the road, to the complimentary muffins on arrival and the equipment able to be used it was a very pleasant experience. You could literally just sit on the deck all day. The only thing that worries me is that too many people will start to know about this property and it won't be available next time. Cheers and Thank you again.

    Angela2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The home baked muffins were very much appreciated. Carol gave us a lovely warm welcome and was very helpful with local information. We had great fun completing the puzzle. It would be awesome if somehow a second toilet could be added to the property in the future.

    Julie2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s an amazing host and the place was great and has everything you need and clean and spacious. First time to Ansons Bay and lots to explore around - Policeman’s Pt and Eddystone are incredibly beautiful. Be back again.

  • Wonderful stay. The place is fantastic. Falmouth is a beautiful quiet place and a great place to stay for much of the east coast! Pete is great and have lots of valuable suggestions of places to include in my travels .

    Anna-Rose2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Peter's place for only one night and were blown away with the little cabin. We fell in love with the space the moment we walked in. It is so cozy and welcoming, there are so many interesting collections of books and DVD, even VHS. It was within walking distance to a beautiful quiet beach. I have already told all my friends about this place and cannot wait to return. Peter is also an amazing host, very kind.

    Alex2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfy and relaxing. Quiet location, close to beach walks. Comprehensive facilities inside, nice deck and gardens. Peter was welcoming host. I def recommend this to others.

    Malcolm2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Pete’s place is amazing. The space is large, comfortable, and has everything you might need from a fully equipped kitchen to a washer and dryer. We were traveling up the east coast and Pete told us about some amazing places that we would have never found if it wasn’t for his advice. Would give 6 stars if I could.

    Charles2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great stand-alone wooden house. The landlord is the most intimate we have ever encountered. All the supplies you think of are available. The space is spacious, comfortable and neat. It is definitely recommended!

    Jun-Feng(Bill)2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming, friendly, comfortable, homely, unique and warm, Peter's little house has a big heart. Make some time to spend looking at the art, books, collectables and games Peter has carefully and sweetly placed in this little paradise. All the amenities are there. Great for a rainy day!!! The beach is a very close walk. Pristine beaches beckon a sunset stroll and birdsong serenades you in the morning. The Milky Way was like a brilliant light show at night. Don't hesitate to stay if this is your kind of hospitality. Thanks Peter. It was unforgettable. We will be back.

    Essey2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

    Amanda2020-03-16T00:00:00Z

    Zoe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

    Justine2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Falmouth reminds one of the film “Babettes Feast”. A beautiful take on coastal life set in Denmark - however Falmouth lies in the heart of the East Coast of Tasmania. Greg is a fantastic host and his property is a charming cottage that sits slightly back from the cliff edges and windswept beach. Inside, the fireplace takes centre stage filling the house with love and warmth making it feel like you’ve lived there your whole life... I won’t forget Falmouth.

    Kira2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, right on the beach. The house is charming, cosy and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Would highly recommend!

  • This is an absolute gem. Such a laid back vibe in such a lovely spot. You will definitely need a car to explore the many local beauty spots. The house is filled with many interesting artworks and touches. It has everything you need and more. We met Gregory at the start of our stay who told us he was nearby in case of a problem but he left us to our own devices respecting our privacy. We loved the place.

    Philip2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you are after a true coastal escape, this is absolutely perfect! • Our stay in Pyengana was fantastic. We were only able to stay one night, but if we were to visit Tasmania again, we would definitely make a trip back out to Pyengana and stay at Tara's cottage. The space was lovely - very spacious, beautifully styled, and had a great 'country cottage' feel. Tara was a great host and provided helpful tips for the Pyengana area. We also loved getting many cuddles with the dogs and picking fresh apples from the tree! Would love to visit again.

The cottage is beautifully decorated and was well equipped for our every need. Comfy beds too! So many thoughtful touches too numerous to mention, especially loved the freshly baked loaf of bread, homemade jams, and chocolates. A great base to explore the Bay of Fires region. Cant recommend this place highly enough!

  • Our trip to the bay of fires was beautiful, and staying at Tully Cottage made it so much better. Evan and Amaya were such friendly welcoming hosts! They made sure we got there safely and gave us advice on where to go. Seeing the listing we had very high expectations, and they managed to exceed them with fresh bread, a clean and cozy cottage with a patio perfect to snuggle under a blanket on a breezy night. The whole area is lovely, and the well tended fruit trees and plants make the gardens lovely to wander around!

    Elizabeth2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • What wonderful hosts! They were quick to respond to our messages and we loved the thoughtful touches like the homemade bread and special delivery of peaches and eggs! Our uber retro/beachy units are a bad match of old and new, BUT, they are ideal to kick back and relax. Parking at the door, fully self contained (shared laundry). 200m to the beach, great fishing and in between Bay of Fires and Wineglass Bay!
Our studio unit is fully self contained and has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay by the beach - plus - free WIFI. Situated smack bang between the Bay of Fires, St Helens, Bicheno, Wineglass Bay, Freycinet National Park and so many other great places, we are an ideal place to base yourself to explore Tasmania's East Coast. Our units are comfortable but don't expect the Ritz! We keep them meticulously clean, however our budget can't stretch yet to getting us a nice modern facelift, so for now, enjoy the ambience of an unpretentious unit with awesome views! Bedding configuration in our studio unit is 1 x queen bed. But if you need more beds for more people, check our other listings as we also have one and two bedroom units :) This unit does provide full wheelchair access if required including a wheel in shower and toilet. Mobility friendly shower chairs, stools etc are available upon request at no additional charge and railing is installed in the toilet area. Park right at your door and sit outside and soak up the sun.
Scamander is such a great little place to stay in away from the hustle and bustle of St Helens (15 minutes up the road). 100m as the crow flies is the post office with the best coffee this side of St Helens, then across the road are the best fish and chips in Tasmania! Then right next to that is our awesome river and beach. The playground is fantastic for children with plenty to keep them busy for hours. The two bridges in Scamander are always popular for fishing and exercising - and for kids riding their bikes across flat out!! Scamander has it's own IGA supermarket and two petrol stations (no LPG gas though) as well as two restaurants just down the street. Scamander River Golf Course is spectacular and you can enjoy a drink after at the well patronized bar. Scamander is a real seaside town where everyone will give you a wave!
  • Carmens Inn is at advertised. Comfortable, retro and an amazing location. Thats why I stay there everytime I am in the area.

  • What a terrific find this cottage was. It's very conveniently located (close to the beach) and very well appointed. It would be ideal for a beach holiday. The cottage is comfortable and airy. I had a fabulous night's sleep and was reluctant to get out of bed this morning. The bathroom is spacious and contains very thoughtful touches such as shower chairs and rails to assist with balance. The shower is very roomy and the water is hot and great pressure. Both important when you've had a long drive. I was warmly greeted by Vicki, the caretaker, who couldn't have been more helpful. Although I was there for just one night, it was a relaxing and quiet stay. I would happily book in here again when visiting the east coast.

This light and airy, spacious cottage is located in the iconic Bay of Fires Area. Nestled next to coastal reserve and close to kid friendly swimming and snorkelling beaches, it's a great place for the whole family to unwind.
The cottage is open plan and quite spacious and the bedrooms are also quite large. As an added bonus we have an external kids playroom directly opposite the bbq area so Mum and Dad can relax and unwind whilst still keeping an eye on the kids :) We are also bordered by coastal reserve giving you more privacy and only ten minutes to the beach in either direction. An added bonus being this close to our beautiful Australian bush is the distinct possibility of viewing some of our unique local wildlife directly from the dining room window. Parking spaces for three vehicles means plenty of space if you want to bring the boat along.

In the heart of the Bay of Fires Conservation area, The Shack is on one of the best natural beaches in the world (ref: Lonely Planet). It is a small, simple stand-alone timber beach bungalow: cosy and snug in winter with sheepskins and heaters, uninterrupted views and sounds of the elements from every angled window and deck: a genuine relaxing respite, loved by world travellers. Great for couples, nature lovers, artists, photographers and rugged-up long winter walks.
The Queen-size bed with feather doona is on a mezzanine level. There are stairs and high decks which makes it unsuitable for small children. All necessary comforts are there, easy to rearrange to your liking eg bbq can be wheeled to front or back deck. A torch is suggested to spot the wild-life or follow the track to the beach at night.
The position of "The Shack" allows privacy with houses some distant apart. Please email or phone me rather than disturbing the neighbours unless in an extreme emergency.
  • Rustic stay in a beautiful spot. Went for a hike north along the bay of fires beach - 5 hours of solitude and incredible beauty. Well worth it!

The property was centrally located and Nic & Alicia really went out of their way to provide as many tips and advice as possible which made the stay perfect. Thanks for the good tip on the fish and chips in St. Helens - it was so fresh and delicious!

  • Had a wonderful stay at Nic and Alicias. The house was a beautiful spot and was perfect for a small group of 4 of us looking for a clean, comfortable spot to base ourselves while exploring Tassie’s east coast. Would definitely stay again!

  • Cute place in Scamander with a spacious kitchen and living room. The beach is accessible by walking around some water and crossing the bridge. We enjoyed our stay in scamander!

  • Lovely space with fabulously comfortable bed. Short walk to the beach and great coffee at Swims. Great kitchen but take the host’s advice and stock up before you get to Scamander if you plan on a night in. Not a lot of dining options in Scamander itself but plenty within a 20 min drive. Grab some fresh seafood and wine from the local wineries and sit on the back deck and enjoy the view.

  • We didn’t actually get to stay at Victoria’s place as they had a last minute issue with the plumbing but Victoria kindly found us new accommodation, she was great with communication and also bought her portacot to the new accommodation when we had an issue with that. If we travel to Bridport again I would certainly look to book with Victoria.

    Dani2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

Amazing Ansons Bay Beach house is a absolute waterfront stylish house with great water views from bottom deck lounge kitchen which only gets better as you go up to the bedrooms There is a bathroom on 2 levels You have access to the beach and bay by walking down a path directly in front of house to the bay beach and boatshed which houses the bikes and kayaks for you to use at your leisure Ansons Bay has a boat ramp that gives you access to the bay where due to its remoteness has great fishing
Ansons Bay is a sleepy little fishing village with little vehicular traffic and extremely peaceful . There is plenty to explore with Policemans Point beaches and Eddystone lighthouse and beaches nearby You can launch your boat at Eddystone to go deep sea fishing in the right conditions You can also launch directly into the bay and fish safely but the bar to the bay can be very tricky and only for the most experienced boaties If you are adventurous we are sure you will love the location and house We wish you the best stay of your trip Kind regards Kevin and Tina
Ansons Bay is unique in the way that you are surrounded by national park , the bird life is prolific . It is a friendly little community village You will have black swans and pelicans swimming past nearly every morning and many other sea birds wrens etc
  • This place is a great house in an amazing location The host is extremely helpful ! Would rate this house 10+ Recommend it highly

  • What a beautiful house in an amazing location, perfect for a quiet relaxing getaway or fishing holiday.

    Claire2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Anson’s Bay - a lovely home in such a unique location! Kevin and Tina have thought of everything from puzzles to kayaks to basic pantry items. The house is immaculate, the bays and beaches are spectacular and the inlet is a fantastic location for water sports and fishing. We had meals of prawns, mussels, flounder and bream (without a boat). We were relaxed from the moment we arrived and can’t wait to return. Thank you!

    Adele2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet spot, with some bits and pieces in the cupboard you can use which is great as no shops around. Kayaks and bikes and fishing gear in the shed able to be used which was really lovely and we all had fun on the kayaks on the water. House is spotless, comfortable and attractive. We also enjoyed the 1000 piece puzzle very pleased we got it done in our time there! Cheryl (who cleans) welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay in an amazing part of the world

    Carolyn2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Christina’s place was just as pictured. The views of Ansons Bay were stunning and we enjoyed opening up the concertina doors to let the outside in. Our boys loved the kayaks and the weather was perfect for them to enjoy this activity all afternoon. A great place to drop off the grid for a while.

    Jane2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house, amazing location on the water. Loved walking down to the boat shed and using the kayaks. Beaches are stunning in the area.

    Lyn2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for time away from hectic life. Limited signal (not a bad thing!) and about 50mins from any groceries (just FYI). Boys enjoyed waking up to the bay and being on the edge of the water.

The Bush Hideaway is located in the small seaside community of Binalong Bay, offering a unique combination of a beach shack in a bush setting. Our eco friendly accommodation is conveniently located within an easy 2 minute walk to the world famous beach of Bay of Fires. The untouched coastline is known for its white sand, turquoise waters and fiery lichen licked boulders. It is perfectly located for exploring the coastline, swimming, fishing, boating, bushwalking & relaxing.
The Hideaway is a cosy beach shack on a bush block that backs onto the local Humbug nature reserve. It boasts a rich array of bird life and white tail possums. It is within an easy 2 minute walk to the main beach Bay of Fires. Other areas of interest close by are skeleton bay, grants point and elephant head. The Hideaway is a beach shack that offers a cosy open plan lounge/dinning area for guests as well as a fully equipped kitchen (including microwave, toaster, kettle, wine fridge). The main bedroom is on the upper level featuring a king bed and its own private deck overlooking the ocean. The second bedroom is accessed on the lower level by the main deck. It has two single beds and one double. There is one large bathroom that features a large spa overlooking the bush setting. Other things to note: The local area has no town water supply. We rely on rainwater to fill our tanks. We ask that you please be mindful of your water usage during your stay. The largest town near Bay of Fires is St Helens, so this is a good place to stock up on food, alcohol, and assorted other supplies before you arrive. There’s an IGA, BWS, a bakery, and assorted other shops. There is poor mobile reception in Binalong Bay (Telstra is the main service provider and can still have poor reception), so it’s a good idea to do most of your research and planning before you arrive.
The town of Binalong Bay is a small beachside community situated at the southern end of the picturesque Bay of fires. Binalong bay is famous for its powder white sand and turquoise coloured ocean with iconic large orange lichen covered boulders. The local shops including IGA supermarket, eateries, service stations and other amenties and servies are a short 15 minutre drive from the property in the main township of St Helens.
  • A nicely done renovated cottage in a bush setting and within walking distance of Binalong Bay beach and the popular cafe/restaurant. Lovely view from the main bedrooms wide windows. The second bedroom is under the cottage and has an external entrance down steps from the balcony. A nice quiet place to relax without internet or wifi.

  • This is an absolutely charming hideaway. Loved it.

    Susan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic environment and so close to the beach. Very quiet location and 3decks to chase or escape the sun. The main bed was extremely comfortable, we slept like babies. The out door shower was a bonus.. Highly recommend for beach lovers with or without family..

This cottage is one of the earliest buildings on the east coast of Tasmania, being built in around 1832. Recently restored, The Surveyors Cottage has an instant appeal with its high ceilings and beautiful light from the Georgian windows. The open fire is the star attraction - so warm and welcoming. An intimate space for two people, within easy walking distance of most local eateries & shops. Unlimited wifi if the fire isn’t enough to keep you happy.
The cottage is decorated with antique furniture befitting its time frame, a very comfy sofa and television. The bed is super comfy, we use quality pure cotton linens, Australian wool quilts & pillows, and of course an electric blanket. There is a wall heater in the bedroom for your sleeping comfort. The new en-suite is open plan beside the bedroom - please check the photos - if you like privacy in the bathroom this may not be the space for you! A fridge, microwave, sandwich press and toaster are provided together with a selection of loose leaf teas, and of course a china teapot. We offer a complimentary gin & tonic on arrival, a selection of condiments, a jug of milk and a few snacks. The main room of the cottage has a wall heater, plus the gorgeous wood fire. We supply kindling and fire lighters, plus a basket of wood in the entry. Unlimited wifi.
Our cottage is centrally located, and in walking distance to restaurants, cafes and local shops. Nina’s Restaurant is directly opposite our cottage; the post office is next door. The chemist is two doors down, and the news agency 3 doors down. Our Lifebuoy Cafe is 200 metres south at 29 Quail Street. We offer a 20% discount to our guests. We highly recommend Furneaux Restaurant (recently voted best Regional Restaurant in Australia) which is a 5 minute drive south, or a 15 minute easy walk. The Bayside Hotel offers a good pub meal. Skipper’s at the waterfront, or The Wharf offer local seafood. The East Coast Providore is opposite the cottage and has great Tasmanian produce and meals you can heat in the cottage.
  • Fantastic little cottage, just right for a couple. Oozing with history and charm. Gorgeous fireplace. Close to everything. Highly recommended.

    Amanda2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a beautiful space. Loved the decor and the interesting historical pieces placed around the cottage. The open fire topped off this wonderful stay. The cottage was sparkling clean with quality linen used throughout. Jane was an amazing host. So welcoming and kind. I can not recommend this place highly enough. We had an amazing stay whilst visiting the stunning scenery in this region. Thank you Jane and Mark for welcoming us.

  • Beautiful space. Thoughtful touches.

    Brooke2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful space with thoughtful touches and luxe bedding. It's right in the heart of St Helen's; we enjoyed walking down to the wharf for dinner and breakfast around the corner at Lifebuoy Cafe.

  • Location is convenient to galleries, shops, cafes, and groceries. Cottage is clean, very well appointed, comfortable, and stylish. A+++

    Andrew2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cottage perfectly renovated ❤️

    Clare2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend Jane's guesthouse. A lovely, sensitive conversion of an old surveyor's cottage that is homely and cosy and yet has all mod cons! Jane is a great and unobtrusive host.

    Neil2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's cottage is very well appointed and situated in a great location right in the centre of town. It has been renovated beautifully while maintaining the original character. We had a very enjoyable stay and will recommend to our friends.
