Shame we were here just a few days. The house was very pleasant, the garden was beautiful, and the view was lovely. Everything we need was available. We loved to sit outside in the garden. We recommend this lovely place .

We had a super stay at the St Raphael annexe - Pat and Dave were really welcoming and even came to pick us up (and drop us back off!) at Tavistock as we were travelling by public transport! On arrival, Pat even made us a lovely cream tea! The Annexe itself is clean, cosy and really thoughtfully kitted out, including torches to use on the way back from eating dinner at the nearby Peter Tavy Inn! Dartmoor is on the doorstep, with plenty of stunning walks nearby, but even looking out into and meandering around the garden around the Annexe was great. We would thoroughly recommend this, and would love to stay again in the future!

Matt and I decided to have a last minute trip away, to make the most of the bank holiday weekend. We were a little tentative as Pat and Dave had no reviews for their lovely annexe (it won't be that way for long!) however soon after we arrived we knew we had made a fantastic choice. We soon learned that the beautiful secluded annex had many many visitors but Pat and Dave were somewhat new to Airbnb! They were so friendly, professional and welcoming and more than happy to tell us about their home and make recommendations. The annex itself is stunning, well equipped but full of charm and surprisingly large. I also have to comment on how clean it was! Despite the annexe adjoining the main house it felt surprisingly private and after an introduction both Pat and Dave were happy to leave us to it. The area is fantastic for walking. It was such a shame about the weather (we didn't let it put us off!) as would loved to have sat in the garden and appreciated the work that has gone into it over the years. I can imagine it is so lovely in the sun. Dave is also a very talented artist and his work can be seen around the property including paintings in the annex itself. Very nice touch! I can highly recommend The Peter Tavy, a local pub a short scenic walk away. Fantastic atmosphere and great food! I can highly recommend the annex and both Pat and Dave lovely people and faultless hosts. We look forward to returning later in the year to explore further! 5*!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The cottage was perfect. It looked even better in person than in the pictures. The gardens and sculptures were beautiful and very relaxing. It was an easy walk to a small store where you could pick up food too cook at home and there were also two pubs within easy walking distance thst had great food. Tavistock was an easy 5 or so minute drive away. Pat and Dave were great hosts. Ready to help or happy to give us our privacy. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Annexe at St.Raphael. The directions Pat and Dave gave us were very easy to understand and we got there with no problems. Walking through the garden to the Annexe was fantastic- it really has been a labour of love for them and it pays off big time! The Annexe was as described, with lovely touches and some goodies from Devon. The best bit? Two words: THE BED. So comfortable and luxurious. Lots of lovely things to do and see nearby (weather permitting) so we definitely recommend staying here. We'll be back - if we can brave the long drive from London again! Thanks Pat and Dave!

This is a beautiful cottage, with a lovely bathroom, a huge and uber comfortable bed, and a very well equipped kitchen [including the all-important dishwasher!] as well as a wonderful wood-burning stove. Bridget and her husband are also very helpful and accommodating hosts. Superb.

A really cosy, home from home, cottage. Lovely welcome from Bridget, and nice touch with free range eggs, and milk, and she left us to our own devices with plenty info in the house files should we need it. August weather! meant the wood burner came into its own, and everything seemed to have been thought of in the kitchen, too. Clean modernised house, quiet spot, with nearby animals and fields, and pubs not too far. Lovely break, thank you.

I had a great stay at Bill and Noreen's B & B. They are lovely people and gave me a very warm welcome. They also made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible by providing a great breakfast and tips for dinner and sightseeing. The house is spacious and the room had its own shower/bathroom. Peter Tavy is a quiet and pretty village conveniently located for a cycle in Dartmoor Park. Recommended!

I had a wonderful time staying with Noreen and Bill for two nights, enabling me to do some walking on Dartmoor for a couple of days during a cycling trip in Devon. Noreen and Bill were both very kind and hospitable and made me feel completely at home. The room was delightful, with ensuite shower, and a tea/coffee making facility. The setting in surrounding countryside is idyllic, and right on the edge of Dartmoor, perfect for walks. Noreen prepared a wonderful breakfast, with homemade starters as well as a full cooked English platter which gave me all the fuel I needed for trekking all day. There is also a great pub in the village which serves delicious meals. I only wish I'd booked to stay longer, and would certainly love to visit again.

Peter Tavy Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. Susie and Tony are very generous hosts and assist you in any way they can. I do recommend making sure of the directions before you leave as we did have a bit of difficulty finding the place.

We booked to stay at Higher Rowes Farm very last minute and hoped to book the family room as we were with our 2 children. However the family room was already taken so Chris helpfully let us know that there were two other rooms available, one double and a twin. She described them as in the same corridor with a bathroom in between them which is exactly what they were and they suited us perfectly. I had asked if there was a safe place where we could keep our bikes and Chris provided one of the stables which was great. The decor is dated, but the b&b is very clean and comfortable and the views of Dartmoor are wonderful. Chris was friendly and helpful, letting us know about a couple of pubs nearby where we could have dinner. One you could easily walk to. Breakfast in the morning was laid out well, and a standard fry-up. We had breakfast with the only other guests staying there and it was nice to meet them and chat. In all a very pleasant stay and perfect for our one night stop-over.

Really nice living on a farm and near to the national park. We had a large, well and lovely prepared room and a big living room with all comfort. Also we had the best real english breakfast, we had in our 2 week holiday. Thank you also for your friendly assistance for a sightseeing in the dark moor.

We had a pleasant stay at Tavy House. Nina was very helpful with directions and we arrived later than expected which I was a bit worried about, but Nina was very accommodating and put us at ease. The house is lovely and grand, both Nina and James were very welcoming. We woke to a lovely breakfast.

We were made to feel very welcome by Nina, with a cup of tea on arrival. The room was large and comfortable, with ensuite shower room and wifi. Nina recommended a very pleasant local pub for an evening meal. The house is large and impressive, on the edge of Dartmoor, easy to find in the village of Mary Tavey on the A386 a few miles from Tavistock, an excellent stopping off point on our way further south to Cornwall. Continental breakfast was excellent.

Nina, James and their lovely family are living in a fantastic house near Dartmoor National Park. They made us feel welcomed and we had a few nice conversation. Whenever we needed any help they helped us immediatly! It is the perfect place to relax and to visit both Cornwall and Dartmoor/Exeter. The house is super clean, the breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruits and we really enjoyed staying there. Thank you for having us!

A real hidden gem. Lots of space in a beautiful location, and the kids loved meeting the animals. Great value for money.

We have just enjoyed a four night stay at the Annex. Gary and Lisa were very welcoming and thoughtful in providing some basic foods for our arrival. The annex is very comfortable, well furnished and the rooms are a good size. It is in a great location for exploring Dartmoor, very close to Tavistock and a couple of pubs that serve food and allow dogs in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit.

What a lovely place to stay, such a fresh and spotlessly clean annex building in the countryside with plenty of space and everything we needed for our two night stay. The hosts were very welcoming, even though we arrived late in the evening. Even the hens were friendly, and our children loved the horses. It's close enough to Tavistock and absolutely ideal for the ferry at Plymouth, and we'd have no hesitation in staying there again - I'm sure we will at some point. Outstanding - ten out of ten.

What a lovely place, a shame it was only for one night! The Annex is in the most fabulous spot in the countryside. But still only 10 mins to Tavistock. Delicious fresh eggs were supplied for breakfast, along with the other basics, which was very welcome. We stayed in the garden studios - the Potting Shed and Tack Room - which are twin bed bedsits equipped with everything to look after yourself during your stay. The location is ideal in that it is easy to walk into town or get out on to Dartmoor to walk. I can highly recommend staying here.

The cottage was lovely and very comfortable. We had a few teething problems on arrival but once these were overcome the stay was very relaxing. We were worried about parking but actually that was not a problem.

Louise was incredibly welcoming especially as we booked so last minute. The house is newly refurbished, with great decor and extremely well equipped. The bed is very comfortable and we were very grateful that dogs were allowed, especially as the house was newly decorated.

Worthy farms is a gorgeous property in the heart of Dartmoor! We couldn't be happier with the room and hospitality. It rained a tad too much otherwise we would've opted for one of Phil's famous BBQ dinners! Enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again! Thanks Phil!

Our stay at Phil's place was awesome. It is surrounded with beautiful landscapes, and the house itself is rustic and lovely. We were very lucky to have the entire house for ourselves. Phil's daughter was very friendly and helpful, and did everything for us to feel at home. Breakfast was provided too. Location worked well for us as a base to explore Devon and Cornwall. Overall, we loved it there and hope to return!

Wortha farm, definitely worth a visit. Just spent 3 days in the area cycling and walking with my son. Great location with lots of local attractions near by. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it if your looking for a home from home. Phil and his family make you feel very welcome from the off, and through out it felt more like spending time with your relatives than in someone else's home. Thanks again.

We had an amazing time staying here! We were reliant on public transport to get here and it was so easy, busses straight from Plymouth and Tavistock to just down the road, which is rare in this part of the world! The room was beautiful, comfortable and warm as was the ensuite. The provided breakfast every day was just perfect and the views over the fields were amazing. Phil was the greatest host and gave us lots of recommendations and directions to pubs and the like. The neighbours were so friendly and always offered lifts! Heather moors are literally on your doorstep and everyday we went straight out for hikes. Phil's barbecue was one of the best we'd ever had and he was so accommodating with tastes and allergies! It was a trip we will remember for a very long time and we can't wait to return.

Phil, his family and his dad were great hosts. The house is in a lovely location with great views. The room was comfortable and the bed was,I think, probably the best I have slept in. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend Wortha Farm to anyone wanting a relaxing stay on Dartmoor.

The Ticketing Hall has been beautifully done, making the most of the original features from its previous incarnation. It provides an excellent location to explore Tavistock, Dartmoor or slip across the border into Cornwall. A great place for a relaxing few days or even a longer stay.

There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere in Alice's beautiful home and I really enjoyed staying there while I was in Tavistock. It is the perfect location for exploring the town and Dartmoor. Big bedroom, large private bathroom, very comfortable bed and you can come and go as you please. A super Airbnb!

Alice was the perfect host. I arrived after a hard days work in Plymouth and the house was warm and cosy. My room was clean and fresh and looked out over the charming Bannawell Street. Alice was more than welcoming,nothing was too much trouble for her. She cooked me a delicious meal as I was too tired to do anything and made me feel very much at home. Lots of hot water for a bath and warm fluffy towels. Over all a very successful stay. I shall definitely be staying again!

This is a lovely little house in a great location. The sitting room at the top of the house is highlight, but hard to fault any of it. Strongly recommended. Luke was a great host too.

This is a super place to stay, very quaint right in the heart of Tavistock. Tavistock is a wonderful town with the moors on the doorstop and beaches not too far away - Luke was a great host and I would definitely recommend staying!

We loved the BBQ and log burner at the top of the garden with great views over the town. Tavistock was a good place to be in the evening - Tavistock Inn was good fun and Taylors did excellent food. The cottage was cosy and the top floor lounge was a nice late night retreat. Loads too do in the area - we visited the north and south coast plus Bodmin and Dartmoor with our dog.

Great weekend away. Gorgeous quaint cottage. Luke was a great host with everything that we needed in place. Amazing views from the garden and lovely town to explore. Ideal base for a wedding we attended in nearby village.
