“Exceptionally welcoming host. Would recommend anyone to stop here. Very comfortable place to stop 😄”
The old Stone House at Store Åros Gård offers a totally unique living experience. Here it is told that the nons lived for more than 500 years ago, and the same qualities that they enjoyed are available today - immediate access to the Oslofjord, the Åros river and the excellent hiking trails around. The sun (almost) never sets here and with your own little boat you can explore the local islands, fish or just hang out on the fjord. The house is recently renovated and offers modern facilities.
“We spent two wonderful weeks in this truly lovely place! A particular highlight for us - and especially for our 5-year old ;) - was the little red boat that belongs to the house and which we used several times to explore the stunning Fjord and the beautiful islands. Communication with Kjetil was very easy and smooth, and his parents who live close by are such warm and friendly hosts. We can't recommend this place enough: It's the perfect spot to get lost in magnificent nature while also having the great opportunity to dip into buzzing Oslo for a change. We'd come back anytime.”
Cosy cabin with a great view. 200 meters to the nearest beach and 800 meters to a big public beach. Sun from 8 am to 10 pm in the summer. Large terrace on three levels. Kitchen holds a modern standard. Main cabin holds to bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with a single bed), living room, dining area (with a kitchen sofa that can be made in to a double bed) and kitchen. Second cabin is the bathroom and third cabin is a bedroom. Note: The third cabin is without electricity.
“The photos of Kirsten's amazing place really don't do it justice. What a fantastic location! It is quite a drive from the Gardermoen airport but sooooooooo worth it. The cabin itself is so charming and has everything and more while on vacation. Kirsten is a lovely woman who is very friendly and answers and questions you might have, great suggestions as well. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Be warned though, if you are visiting Norway to explore you might not get so much exploring done because the cabin is just so comfortable, beautiful with the best view I've experienced in my life, and you might not want to leave :). Kirsten's amazing place was the most beautiful sight in our touring of Oslo.”
