It was our second time at Sukoon. It is perched high up in the Kumaon hills, about a 20 minute uphill hike from the road, which ensures tranquility and minimal human interaction - exactly what we were looking for. The cottage stands facing a forest which comes alive with the sound of birdsong in the mornings. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck reading, birdwatching, soaking up the Sun and star-gazing. The cottage itself is very well-appointed. The bedding is comfortable and warm, and the kitchen has everything one might need to prepare a small or elaborate meal. Three adorable, friendly dogs who accompanied us on our hikes made the deal even sweeter! Sushil, the host, was welcoming and hospitable. He showed us hiking paths from the property and viewpoints for sweeping views of the snow-capped Kumaon Himalayas in the distance. While he was always just a message away he ensured we had utmost privacy. We had the most wonderful stay at Sukoon and can't wait to be back!

Tastefully built and furnished, spacious and spotlessly clean cottage with a view of the valley below and the mountain range afar from all the rooms. Except the birds chirruping and an occasional refrain of a song from the small village below, there are no sounds. Our host Pritam was very helpful throughout and his guidance on routes and information on local amenities helped us a lot. There are, however, two points that need to be clarified. One, there are only two proper bedrooms and not three as we assumed from the description. The "third bedroom" is actually the space at the landing of the stairs, in between the two bedrooms and doesn't even have a door. The occupants have to use the bathroom upstairs, not convenient when there are three families. The second point is the approach path. Visitors have to be physically fit, especially ladies, to be able to negotiate the terrain which is downhill and most likely more than half a kilometer, or so our senior citizens felt.

Our stay at Pahadi Nest was truly special. The cottage is beautifully designed with a perfect mix of comfort and nature. The glass balcony offers breathtaking mountain views, and we loved relaxing in the private garden,it felt peaceful and personal. Watching IPL on the big smart TV while seeing apple trees and snow-capped mountains through the large glass window was surreal. Even simple things like playing ludo in the cozy lounge area added to the charm. The food was delicious, freshly made, and felt organic,just what you need in the mountains. Everything is thoughtfully done, making it ideal for couples, families, or solo travelers who want a break from city life. Highly recommended for a calm, scenic, and refreshing stay.
