Here in Montegonfoli you can spend a vacation in absolute relax, in an enchanted natural context, far from the noise but at the same time very close to the most beautiful attractions of the world. First floor with amazing views on San Gimignano and Chianti Hills. No aircon, but every bedroom has a large fan for the few hot nights we are getting in July/August. We usually have 15°C!

Black Iris Wood

The accommodation is located on a country farm, a 5-minute drive from the center of Volterra. After Porta Diana, take a short stretch of the Municipal road of S. Margherita until you reach a dirt road, the sign Bosco dell'Iris Nero leads you, along a 900-meter path, to the location. Here there are chestnut trees, olive trees, flowers and a pleasant view of the valley. You can meet roe deer, porcupines and wild boars. The cuckoo, the hoopoe, and the woodpecker inhabit the surrounding forest.

Il Vicario, the old Vicar’s house, was restored with care, maintaining it’s true style and character. The original stone ceilings and floors have been maintained. The Galileo Galilei room is the fifth of a 5-room B&B created inside a medieval tower. It is located on the third floor and is a double bedroom of more than 30 sqm with a 160cm iron canopy bed, equipped with a relaxation area, desk and wardrobe. The bathroom, about 4.5 sqm, consists of a toilet, bidet, sink, and small tub below the skylight. This room has exclusive use of the tower's roof terrace. It is one of the 4 rooms that are in the tower.
