“Where to even begin. First communication. I reserved the KOKO home in March of 2019 For December 18th. Just a four day stay. In that time I must have sent 40 or 50 questions about the location. The island. Flying over. Car rentals. At one point I started asking about local charities that we could bring gifts to for Christmas. No matter the question Melonie answered it EVERY time. With detail. No simple ... yes ... no ... detailed thoughtful responses. Fantastic!!! The location. I can't put in words the beauty. So I won't try. But I did post a video on facebook so I will share some of my friends responses to the home, location, and view. "Can I live there?!" "Oh my!!! It’s beautiful!!" "ooooh myyyy goodness is that heaven??? are you staying forever? i can't think of anything more perfect 🌴💙" "Looks like my idea of heaven" "Jelly" "I want be you when I grow up...dang..." And a lot of "wow" and "gorgeous" The food ... Radhika is an artist. I asked for a chocolate mousse and even though it wasn't on the menu, she delivered. She had never made one and she crushed it!!! In Dallas it would have sold for $40 - $60. It was wonderful. A++ to Radhika. Always a beautiful smile when she greeted us and always asked how things were. Naturally attentive. She is a very caring person. The area has diving. Waterfalls. Movie theater. Shopping. Airfield. Rental cars. The location is PARADISE!!!! Book already ... what are you waiting for!”
My place is located on the hill side overlooking Savusavu. Only a short walk and you will find yourself in Savusavu to enjoy the easy life of this hidden paradise. Local shops and the market are open daily (exp.Sun)
“Thanks for Deta's great hospitality. Everything was closed on Christmas, she took me and other Korean girl to join their familiy party with warm and nice atmospere coz the fantastic Fijian food also. My flight was cancelled due to Tropical cyclone SARAI, she was still care of me. Thanks for everything. The only demerit is Airbnb give the wrong location. -_-"”
Bayside Bure (bungalow/cottage) is located at Lesiaceva Point - 6kms from Savusavu town (a 10 minute drive along the edge of the picturesque Bay)..... and just a stone's throw away from the famed Jean Michel Cousteau Resort. Savusavu is on Vanua Levu, a one hour domestic flight from Nadi Airport. The bure sits on a grassy knoll overlooking the crystal clear waters of Savusavu Bay.
“My husband and I loved everything about Bayside Bure. We stayed for five weeks in total, and we couldn't be happier with our stay. Karen, Edward, and Phoebe are the best hosts, the bure is well equipped (especially the kitchen), and everything is beautiful. Just to manage expectations, the entire island of Vanua Levu is probably best for independent travelers, especially people who like to boat, snorkel, and dive. This was ideal for us, as we are certified divers who like to do our own exploring when traveling. While staying at Bayside Bure, we took the local bus, shopped at the Saturday produce market, and spent tons of time snorkeling in the water right across the street from the bure. Although visibility can of course vary day-to-day, during our five weeks we saw a wonderful array of fish and sea animals, including: two separate varieties of stingray, one large sea turtle, several barracuda, many lion fish, one octopus, some black tip sharks, some (smaller) giant clams, and countless tropical fish. Of course, we didn't see all these things on any single day, but if you have time to explore, there's a lot to discover right across the street from Bayside Bure! Relatedly, we did some great diving during our trip. Namena in particular was indescribably beautiful, where we got to see a hammerhead shark up close. Despite all the great snorkeling and diving, I think I spent the most time laying in the hammock on the porch. The view is beautiful, and this was one of the rare vacations where we actually got to relax. Bayside Bure really let us get away from all the stress of our everyday lives. Thanks for everything, Karen, Edward, and Phoebe!”
