Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Shikoku

We stayed with 6 friends. It was a quiet place, surrounded by nature, and it was a secluded accommodation. The interior was also beautiful, and it was a spacious and fun place for a large group. The check-in time was also free after 3 pm, and the check-out time was 12 o'clock, so I had a relaxing time in the morning. It was a place I'd love to stay again if I get the chance.

If you're looking for a great old-school, homestyle Japanese accommodation, this is your place. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it's a bit like staying at your grandparents' place in the country: It won't have the sleekest and most modern new features, but it's a legit piece of a bygone era. We stayed as a family of five, had a great time. The place was super spacious and comfortable, and pretty well located for what we wanted to do in Shikoku. We rented a car, and I was initially worried about finding restaurants within walking distance of the AirBNB, but the neighborhood was surprisingly good for restaurants! The fish place next door is definitely worth trying, as is the nearby yakiniku place (about 10 min walk). The only downside I could note is that we had Internet issues while we were there. Not a huge deal for us, but it could be for some. I'm sure the host will take care of that for future visitors.

We went to the place as a family of four, as we arrived very late, the place is in the woods and its abit dark and narrow, but with host’s instruction we still manage to find the way in. It’s a renovated old wooden house in the woods, it’s good to experience the old traditional Japanese style. And you can really feel the nature in the morning with singing birds around. Two things to note is the bathroom is separated from the main house and it’s abit not convenient. And highly recommend to arrive daytime so you can see the road clearly. But if you are a nature person, this is a good place to go and it’s also near the Shimanto city which you can do cycling along the river and enjoy the view.

Especially the sauna was spacious, and the water bath was cold and it was a great refresh. This will be a personal matter again, but I wanted to send a bouquet of flowers to my partner, so we consulted in advance. They personally consulted me about various preparations and arrangements, and I was able to give them a bouquet of flowers. I don't think you'll be able to be as accommodating as possible. My family of five stayed for a week.The host was very kind and made us feel at ease and had a good time. While retaining the goodness of an old-fashioned house, the water area was beautifully renovated and I was able to use it comfortably. I stayed in spring this time, but I would definitely like to visit in various seasons.

We absolutely loved our stay with Dai, he was so lovely and helpful from even before we had arrived. The house was homely and very well cared for with everything you could think of! This was such a great place - all the neighbours were so kind. 10/10 from us! The house is about a 10 min walk from Hiroshima station and 20 min walk from busier districts. Dai did a wonderful job we felt right at home.

I arranged to stay here with a group of close friends as we were cycling the Shimanami Kaido, and were all blown away by this stunningly beautiful and incredibly well equipped home. Everyone wished we'd had more time to spend here relaxing. The fridge came full of drinks and suggestions of mixes which we enjoyed. Having frozen local lemons to use as ice was enhanced everything. We'd arranged for the BBQ dinner, which was a delicious feast we devoured after a day of cycling. We were also left an extra gift of excellent oranges and orange daifuku. Sitting in the yard in the morning, looking at the clear blue inland sea made it hard to leave. I really want to come back here to see the whole island in lemon season. This is really a magical home and location. ありがとうございます

Hi from the US! This stay was perfect for the 3 days we visited Hiroshima. Within walking distance to restaurants, stores, and the Peace Memorial. The hosts allowed us to check in early, and were very kind. 10/10 recommend.

The unit was as advertised and perfect for our family. The space was ample and the kitchen was just enough space for some quick meal, though we did eat our mostly. Beds were comfortable and large. Public transportation was a breeze.

Me and my family enjoyed the stay here while we were in Okayama. We could borrow bicycles from the host, so it was very convenient to see the city and go to other places such as malls. The Nishigawara train station was not too far, so we could just walk to the station. Overall the stay was good and we recommend it.

Mari was very helpful and proactive in communication. She recommended programs, restaurants and she was available to help when we needed. It’s easy to walk to the main attractions and well connected to the train station by bus.

We stayed for several days, but there was no particular dissatisfaction, and we had a very clean environment. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

I loved the beautiful surroundings. It was a very quiet and pleasant experience. The night of check in, I was unsure of which building i had to enter. Thankfully the owner replied to my question extremely fast! In the morning, we chatted for alittle before i left. They are warm and friendly. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. As a family with our 3 children, it was perfect in addition with a parking space for the rental car. Without a car the nearest station is a 2 minute walk.

The response was very kind, the work was quick and accurate, and I was able to make the best memories. It was a place I wanted to go again right now.

I went to Koiishima for the first time. There is the Yura Port and the accommodation port, and the inn is close enough to walk from the night port.You can see the house from the boat ~ The place was really as pictured and lovely!The surrounding houses felt like an empty house and played music while BBQing, and I was able to talk to them at ease ~ The sauna was also good!The whole family was very satisfied! However, there is nothing around the night port.It's a good idea to buy anything before you get on the boat!It was easy to get in touch with the host, and I was really happy with the sketchbook, pen, and welcome fruit!I'd love to stay again!Thank you.😊

I used it with the whole family to celebrate my father's calendar. It was so beautiful and spacious that no one would bother anyone even when the kids ran around. The employees were also a very good person. There were several toilets, and every toilet was clean and very helpful.

I visited with my family.The barbecue, bonfire, Heidi-like swing, hammocks, and sea views were also awesome and I enjoyed it.The facilities are clean and safe. Thank you very much. Large cars require quite a bit of driving skills.

The exterior and interior were very stylish and everyone had a tension!There was also a sauna and fireplace, and I enjoyed it like I was at the villa.If I ever come back to Shodoshima, I'd love to stay here again.

Very nice vacation house on the mountain with a breathtaking sea view- perfect for a weekend getaway! The host speaks good English so easy to communicate. Highly recommended !
