It looks like an old traditional house, but the interior is a modern Japanese-style, relaxing space with plenty of local Nara wood. It's warm in winter and comfortable in summer. There is also a wood-burning stove, so you can spend a special time gathered around the flickering flames. A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!
