“*5 Stars* Jade and Joe were the perfect hosts! Beautifully restored historical country home located on a huge piece of farm land, where there was so much to do. Downtown Bradford was a stone-throw away and full of places to eat and shop. Also a great scenic drive to Loon Mountain. What I loved most were the scenic views of the fields and woods from all sides of the house, including a fantastic view of Mt. Washington from the back porch. I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his family's awesome dog Max; Joe's an absolute genuine guy who not only made us feel at home, but did not hesitate to offer his assistance with anything to make stay more enjoyable. My family was sad to leave after only a couple of days, which is why we definitely plan on booking here again for a longer stay. Thank you again Jade and Joe, your home is an absolute Gem! P.S. - My dog had SO much fun tapping into his wild side, exploring, and playing with the neighbor's extremely friendly pups. He was absolutely exhausted.”
A sunny studio apartment is attached to our "green" home The studio has a full kitchen, private entrance, and private bath. It has two twin beds, or a king bed on request. A washer, dryer, and sauna are available at no charge. All electricity is solar-generated; hot water is solar-assisted, and organic wastes are composted. We have extensive organic gardens on the grounds. Guests are invited to wander through them, and, in season, enjoy some of the harvest.
“My husband and I decided on a last minute trip to see the fall foliage in Vermont and we were quickly accommodated! That was the first of many pleasant surprises. Upon our arrival we were met with such wonderful kindness and openness. Wally and Barbara had prepared for us a small array of breakfast items both locally bought and locally grown (from their garden!). These small touches we greatly appreciated since the nearest store would have have been at least 10 minutes away. They also gave us great tips on nearby attractions. The space was perfect for two and they allowed us access to the small balcony, which we really loved. The level of amenities was outstanding and unexpected (like access to their home sauna). We really enjoyed our stay and their home and grounds were breathtaking. We would only advice that one be aware of ladybugs and small bugs that gather within the space, which is why a fly swatter was provided. Thanks so much for it all Wally and Barbara!”
A quiet location in the country, we’re located 25 minutes from Hanover NH, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, as well as Vermont Law School and many summer camps such as the Aloha Camps, Camps Farnsworth, Billings and Lochearn. Located right around the corner is the Pema Osel Do-ngak Choling Buddhist retreat. There are two local hiking trails: The Cross-Rivendell and Appalachian Trails; two large lakes: Lake Fairlee and Lake Morey.
“Richard has a nice off the beaten path location. For those looking to escape the noise of the city and looking for solitude with the wilderness, his location does exactly that. Add a friendly black lab, super clean interior, you'll find the space a nice place to change the pace from whatever you're used to.”
