Gamtunet is a charming old log house with a top modern architectural extension including all commodities. The view is spectacular encompassing the Lyngen landscape from the view to the Ulsfjord to the alpine peaks of Trollvasstind, Sofiatind and the Jiehkkevárri massif. We still have lots of snow in the mountains so it looks like skiing will be good all through May at least.
“This place is amazing. We had a great time there. The cabin is very good situated (near the ferry) and extremely modern. We had everything we needed and the parents (check-in & check-out) are super friendly and really helpful. One can really see and feel that this place was built with love. You should keep in mind that the next supermarket is in lyngseidet (20 min by car). We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin and it’s perfect for staying at the lyngen alps.”
Nice and spacious cabin in Lyngen close to the famous Lyngen Alps. Perfect place for observing the Northen Lights. Just one hour drive from Tromsø/langnes Airport.3 Bedrooms ,kitchen, livingroom, bathroom with sauna, large balcony and a grillhut.
“Ronald is an excellent host from start to finish. At no stage were we ever waiting for a response in fact quite the opposite, he sent us messages before we had begun our trip with advice and was always swift in his responses to our questions. Checking in was easy with plenty of information on the process given prior to arrival. We picked up all our supplies in Tromsø prior to getting on the road to the cabin, this was based on reviews and suggestions from Ronald. The fire was plenty warm for the main rooms to the point where we cracked open some windows from time to time to regulate the temperature. The hill to the cabin is more than manageable in a 4wd car (with studs) which made life infinitely easier than having to potentially walk the few hundred metres up there. We noticed the road being ploughed at least once whilst we were there which obviously made the route in easier. We used the cabin as a base location for our visits (Ice Domes and the scenic road to Tromsø) whilst also being away from the hustle and bustle of bigger towns. Although we didn't get to see the Northern Lights the surrounding areas and views were stunning alone. Although we didn't use the grill hut it looked like a brilliant facility with seats around the grill area, maybe next time. On the road to the Ice Domes we did spot a large collection of moose happily grazing away a couple of kms from the cabin which was a nice little bonus. All in all we had a great time in Tromsø with the cabin playing a large part in making us feel at home and able to enjoy our trip there. We will be planning a summer visit to get in some of the walks in the location and hopefully another winter trip to get the Northern Lights. Perfect, cheers Ronald.”
The perfect spot to watch northern light, skiing the Lyngen alps, fishing, diving, hiking, biking, kayaking, meditation.
“The first time in Norway and in December. We looked for a couple for 10 days to see the northern lights. The house is a blast! Surroundings: We could see the northern lights from the terrace every day unless it was cloudy. The sea is less than 50m from the house, and that's not a lie. You can see it and hear it rustling from the huge windows. If you want to get up early, you can watch moose from the window like we do, also at 5 a.m. behind the house. At this time of year, everything is covered in snow and ice. The view from the inside of the surroundings is indescribably beautiful. Mountains covered with snow and little lamps of the cities on the banks. The moon can be seen all day despite the fact that the sun only shows from 9 am to 1 pm. In this sunny time you can go for nice walks in thick clothes. Accommodation: It is not a lie if it says there is food! Coffee, tea, SodaStream, milk (lactose-free), juice, cocoa, muesli, bread, butter, oils, flour, sugar, pasta, rice, preserves, spices and a freezer full of food. It certainly changes from time to time, but Björn's principle is really nice and totally great. Take and give. The nearest grocery store is about 40km away. Tip: it is best to get cold cuts at the supermarket on arrival. Take a look at what is in the house before it becomes 3 packets of pasta. It is really thought of everything! Board games that everyone knows (e.g. Uno), TV that can be connected to the cell phone via W-Lan, plenty of wood for the fireplace, telescope, binoculars, kitchen appliances for everything, underfloor heating in the entire ground floor, washing machine, dryer, shampoo, towels, bathrobes , Soap and lots of little things other travelers have left there. For the cold season there were even spikes, hats, thick shoes, snow shovels, sand and much more. Host: Björn we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! He is a host that everyone wants. If you do not know what is there, he will answer every question. The information from before helps him immensely. If you can't find the way to the house, it is accessible and helps. Björn will let you know when the weather gets a little uncomfortable. He gives damn good tips, such as an app to see the Northern Lights (Aurora). Where and which is the nearest supermarket or where there are beautiful hiking trails along the sea. It makes you feel at home. In a place in the world where you can enjoy rest, relaxation and recuperation. takk for the fantastic bryllup trips. ”
