“Bothy cottage is a real gem and a perfect relaxing retreat within a rural village setting . The cottage decor is immaculate , cosy and chic with lovely personal touches , especially Prosecco and flowers . Liz and Russell were great hosts and checked that we were aware of the Village pub and also told us about the coffee shop and local Spar. Russell also gave us great advice about the trains, (I.e flagging them down at the platform )which we used to get into Dorchester to meet friends . Last train home is 8.30 and you have to let the guard know for the train to stop at Yetminster . The local village is only a 10 min walk as is the train station which allows you to venture further afield without driving. The cottage and orchard opposite are lovely relaxing spaces which make you chill out straight away. It was an amazing few days in a perfect place and we will definitely stay again .”

“Having never holidayed in the UK with our 7 year old boy & our 2 yr old cocker poo we were mildly anxious about our Dorset trip. After reading so many wonderful reviews for Jackie’s place I felt confident of a warm welcome & a pleasant stay. What we weren’t prepared for though, was how amazingly bespoke, relaxed & genuinely friendly our hosts were. We were given the warmest of welcomes. The part of the house we occupied exceeded our expectations. Easy chat & helpful local advice was a given from our hosts. The house is beautiful, beds comfortable, immaculately clean, cosy yet spacious. Our 7 year old boy was indulged & loved his holiday. And so did we. The village felt like home after a couple of days, as did Jackie & Duncan’s gorgeously maintained property. Will recommend to anyone looking for good quality accommodation with lovely views & a friendly village vibe.”
This gorgeous large studio apartment with separate entrance is contained within an historic Georgian house, minutes from the ocean. Peace and quiet are ensured by a large well tended front garden with off street parking. The accommodation has a spacious private patio, giving way to an established secluded garden. The apartment boasts a stylish fully fitted kitchen and leather Chesterfield sofa, chairs and a large comfy bed .
“Very friendly hosts who are thoughtful in what guests might like when they stay with them. We were provided with some basics like eggs, milk, coffee etc when we arrived which means you don't need to rush immediately to the shop so you can have a cup of coffee or tea after your journey which is a nice touch. The accommodation is lovely & comfortable with all the facilities you could want. Within walking distance to the town centre and beach, which is great as you can leave your car by the accommodation and not pay parking charges. The accommodation also has a convenience store up the road from it so easy to pop and get a bottle of wine or a snack or even a takeaway. We will definitely be staying there again.”
