Kilworthy Rise Annex is under 10 mins walking distance of the historical award winning market town of Tavistock and an ideal place to stay for those wishing to explore the town facilities while benefiting from staying in a rural location. The Annex affords you the freedom and privacy you would expect from staying in an apartment with the advantage of the warm welcome and support you would expect from staying in a hosts home. A self serve breakfast is included and provided in the kitchenette.
“We stayed one night because we were going to an event in Tavistock. The place is a little converted outbuilding, maybe once a garage. It's spotlessly clean and Jane went to a lot of trouble finding vegan breakfast items. It's about 10 minutes downhill to town and a steep walk back but definitely doable. It's very quiet and has everything you need for a short break.”
Our house is on the doorstep of Dartmoor and a 10 minute road or woodland walk into Ashburton for cafes, shops and Arts Centre. We have countryside views, parking and garden. The room is light, fresh and cosy. The large bathroom has a good shower, shared with one conscientious male lodger. Continental breakfast is offered. You can make tea or coffee any time and wifi is available. It's a friendly, positive household for anyone visiting friends or wanting to explore Dartmoor.
“This is a lovely and unique place to stay. During our 4 night stay Our host was warm and friendly without being intrusive and with a relaxed approach to the practicalities of our stay. The bedroom was simple, comfortable bed, TV and quiet. Sarah is knowledgable about the area and provided us with plenty of info’. The location on the edge of Dartmoor and a 10 minute walk to the bustling town of Ashburton is perfect for exploring the area. We felt very much at home here and would recommend to anyone who wants outstanding value, with a good breakfast and the feeling of ‘home away from home’. Many thanks for our oasis of tranquility. Look forward to another visit!”
Situated in the middle of Dartmoor National Park, this somewhat quirky 1970s bungalow is ideally situated for walkers , cyclists or just driving around looking at the wonderful scenery and visiting places of interest. Secure place for storing bikes and drying clothes and muddy boots. Parking on drive for car. Well-behaved cat-friendly dogs welcome by arrangement and for a small nightly fee. (Sorry, no entire male dogs)
“If you are looking for a quiet & peaceful location to explore Dartmoor, then Judy's is the perfect place. Judy was the perfect host. Allowing me to arrive a little early & even provide me with a pair of wellies when it got a bit wet on my stay. I stayed in her single room, which was perfect for me, with my own private & very clean bathroom. I am an animal lover, so the fact that Judy has 2 (very friendly) dogs & a cat wasn't a problem. The views from the large patio windows are amazing & I could have sat for hours just watching the birds that come to visit her bird feeders. I feel the photos of her house really don't do it justice. It is bigger & brighter inside than the photos lead you to believe. I would highly recommend Judy's, & hope to visit again soon.”
