This is a beautiful off grid A-frame in the woods with a creek running nearby (you can hear it from the deck) that’s just a short walk down the hill. The outhouse with a compost toilet is clean and does not stink!! The cabin has beds that were very comfortable especially after 7-11 mile hikes. I slept the best I have in forever. For an off grid cabin it was so easy and comfortable and the LP heater worked great.
I would suggest you bring a battery operated lantern if you want more light at night for games, reading etc as there are only solar lights. Also you may want a power pack if you plan to be on your phone a lot but we enjoyed not using our phones and enjoying the simple life. Collette and Justin’s directions to the cabin were easy to follow and we found it no problem.
You are only a mile or 2 from Grand Marais if you need anything and great hiking is close. I look forward to returning again for another stay.
