3 days agoThis houseboat near the Castlefield Hotel made for a wonderfully unique stay while in Manchester, and just a neat life experience in general, if you're looking for a truly one-of-a-kind accommodation! I especially enjoyed eating dinner on the little table outside on the boat's rear deck, which was especially interesting as there was a television shoot going on in the canal area during the second day of my visit.
This place was just cool and cosy, with a genuine, free-spirited Bohemian vibe! I definitely recommend it way more than some stodgy hotel! Laura was so very nice, and immediately attentive to a question I had before check in. Thank you again for everything!

1 week agoWonderfully charming houseboat - beautifully prepared and laid on by Laura. The perfect base to explore Manchester - without the dehumanising anti septic horror of the budget hotel I usually stay in.
I stayed on a cool night in October and it was warm, snug & cosy.
Woodburning stove, central heating, hot shower. And Cuban Havana themed bar. 👌

1 week agoWe had a great stay on the Wandering Star!
Parking for 24 hours at £15 5 mins walk away, the canal is right in the heart of the city but feels like you're in your own little world. The barge has all the amenities you could ask for, it's super cosy to put the fire on and the bar is a great touch! Absolutely fantastic value for money, we will definitely be back!
