The more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time travel to a 19th century village in the far north of Finland. The property is best suited for a friend of Lapland's nature, history and silence, who is not afraid of the dark in winter or mosquitoes in summer. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

Welcome to spend a wonderful holiday in Riekonsoppe, at the foot of Pyhätunturi. The cottage is in a quiet area, but close to services and hiking trails. In winter, you are close to ski trails, ski slopes and downhill terrain. Pyhän Pohjoisrinteet are only 1 km away and Luosto is less than 20 km away. In spring, summer and autumn, you can go directly from the cottage to the hiking trails of Pyhä-Luosto National Park.

Kemijärvi 35km, Pelkosenniemi 15 km, Savukoski 60km and Sodankylä 70 km. The nearest grocery store is in Pyhä 14 km and Pelkosenniemi 15 km. There is a lot of snow in March and April, then also the best outdoor weather.

Pyhätunturi Ankkalinna Villa

The unique villa features 4 bedrooms + loft, a flat-screen TV, an fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a microwave, a washing machine, and 2 bathrooms with a hot tub. The wellness area at Ankkalinna is comprised of a hammam, a jacuzzi with glass roof (aurora borealis hunting) and a sauna. Hiking, skiing and canoeing are possible within the area, and the accommodation offers ski storage space.

On the scenic Kemijoki riverbank, about an hour's drive from Rovaniemi, 65 km towards Kuusamo. I recommend renting a car. Fully equipped 75 m2 cottage with two bedrooms, kitchen, sauna, bathroom, porch and terrace. There is a beach near the cottage (about 700 m). Opportunities for snowmobiling, fishing, berry picking and hunting, as well as hiking. There is a boat launch about 1.2 km away.
