  • AURORA SNOWSHOE ADVENTURE
The best way to see the northern lights is to be outside in beautiful unspoiled nature. I will take you there. With snowshoes we will go through untouched snow to find a perfect spot for aurora watching. We will make a fire and have some hot drinks to keep us warm. If the sky is clear and the aurora activity is high, you will have good chances to see northern lights. If it is cloudy more luck is involved. In any case this will be a wonderful adventure. I will also bring some sausages to grill and some cookies. I will pick you up at your Rovaniemi accommodation or at the meeting point and bring you to a forest area 15 to 30 km away from the city, according to the weather conditions. After the tour I will bring you back. During the tour you will get good understanding about going out to the nature where snow remains untouched. You will learn some basics about survival in the arctic woods, about life in the area and about reindeer herding and local Sami natives. You can ask more from topics you are interested. After the tour you will have better understanding about the life far North in the arctics. Other things to note The temperatures can be very low (under -25°C) so make sure to be dressed appropriately. It is very important to wear extra warm shoes. Remember : if your feet are tight you will feel cold. Please contact me if you are not sure of your equipment. I might have some to borrow.

  • Hunting The Arctic Lights
I will give you the best chance to see the northern lights. The Rovaniemi city area is often cloudy and full of light pollution, what makes it hard to observe the auroras. Therefore we will drive away from the city lights to find perfect spots where the sky is clear enough to see the auroras. I will choose the route according to the weather condition. Sometimes we need to go far in order to see something. I will keep an eye on the geomagnetic activity and the weather forecast. I will bring my camera and make pictures if we see northern lights. I will send you some pictures after the tour. If you bring your own camera (DSLR) and tripod I will show you how to make northern light pictures. During the trip you will also learn about the life in Lapland, local culture and a lot about the northern lights . - I pick you up at your accommodation at the agreed time - We drive out of the city to a good northern light watching spot - We move on to different locations if we need to find better viewing conditions - I will show you how to make good aurora pictures, and will make some for you. - I drive you back to your accommodation Other things to note Please tell me in advance if you need any additional winter clothing. Don't forget to bring your camera and a tripod.

  • Northern lights wilderness tour
Your guide will teach you about the Aurora Borealis and show you how the natives make a fire and cook food over it. Detailed explanations of the northern lights, wilderness, and the local animals will follow for those who wish to fully understand their surroundings. We will drive away from the city to find the perfect spot that we think will give us the highest chances of seeing the lights on that night. We will also find a warm spot to sit and wait for the lights to show. The more time we spend outside the more likely we are to see the lights. Usually, we view the Aurora in the middle of a huge frozen lake or river! All of the pictures of the Northern lights on our website are taken during our tours, some by clients, some by guides and some have even been taken on a mobile phone! Cameras often capture stronger images than what we can see with the ‘naked eye’, however, when the Aurora really starts to dance no cameras are needed and we actually prefer to put the cameras down and observe this very special phenomenon with our eyes Other things to note Northern lights cannot be promised, but we do our best in trying to find them for you. This tour is a great experience travelling through the wild Taiga forest.

  • LAPLAND'S NATURE - Meet, dream and learn
We'll go for a walk in the beautiful Lapland forest during which you will learn some secrets of the nordic nature. We go to a fireplace where I will show you the basics of making a fire. I will tell you about plants and trees, and the incredible nature we have here up north. We will enjoy the warmth of the fire and prepare some tea out of wild herbs collected on the way. We will also share some sausages and cookies. With this tour you will learn about the nordic forest, it's animals and plants. You will hear stories from everyday life up in the arctics and the challenges living far North brings to its habitants. You will also learn some basics of survival and you can ask your guide more about summer/winter survival in the arctics as well as reindeer herding or about native Sami cultures. Relaxing and fun time is guaranteed by the fireplace. You don't need to be prepared, you can join with what you have. Path is well walked and if needed you can borrow some winter clothing for the tour (request beforehand so the guide knows to have the right sizes with). Your safety is important! The wearing of a face mask and the use of hand sanitizer is required during the transportation . Hand sanetizer will be provided. Other things to note Please let me know if you have some special needs : Health problems , food restrictions or allergies

  • Borealis Spotting and Fires at a Lake
Aah yes, the beautiful pictures of Aurora Borealis! The best that Lapland has to offer, the Northern Lights, right? Im going to be totally honest with you: To see the Borealis is all about luck. Thats why I want you to experience other great Lappish things; to have a good time for four hours with open fire, two different types of huts / wickets, traditional Lappish / Finnish food & treats, stories, lake views, the polar night, the surrounding nature and atmosphere. And if we are lucky, the skies are clear and the universe serves us right, the Borealis will add a final touch to our shared traditional Lappish experience in the winter nature. Heres what is going to happen: – I will pick you up at 18.00 sharp – A drive of about 20 kilometers away from the city´s light pollution. – A short walk through the night forrest to the lake – We start a fire in the hut. – Free hanging around the area, spotting the borealis ect. while I cook. – The Dinner – We can try to figure out do the Borealis really hum... – I will watch the borealis radar – If theres no Borealis by the lake, we head on top Ounasvaara for different views & change for Sledging – I will drop you off where you want Other things to note The car we use is a 2017 Dacia Duster 4x4. I have warm clothes & shoes to borrow but they are not the latest fashion.
