The house was perfectly suited to our needs . The kitchen is supplied with anything one needs to make home-cooked meals. The living spaces are super comfortable ... not "too precious". Cate is a superb host... her attentiveness, good communication skills, and flexibility are stellar!

Visit on October 2024. The place was really cute, private, surrounding area very peaceful and beautiful, accommodated us (3 persons) really well. Very close to all important locations in Wellfleet. Host was very good at proactively providing guidance.

My family had a magical stay at Lieutenant's Lodge (5 adults). The house comes equipped with bikes, kayaks (a short walk), beach chairs, towels, an umbrella. I suggest that you read all the reviews carefully to see if this special place is right for your family. You look directly over an absolutely beautiful beach (57 steps), the house is quiet, serene, and peaceful and also close to many fun Cape restaurants and the national seashore. At high tide (1 hour a day), the water covers the first 4 or 5 steps to the beach at the house, but this did not stop my girls from swimming anyway! You can also just walk around the corner and there is a wide part of the beach that does not go under water. We had no problem leaving the island because of the tide - plan well. The downstairs has AC which helps decrease the humidity and dampness inherent in a beach house. However, the upstairs does not have AC and the 3 small bedrooms can be hot (without a breeze) and damp. We LOVED our stay! Thank you!!

The location is private, quiet, and beautiful. Wellfleet is small, so the house is conveniently close to everything that you could want or need within the town. The walk from the property down to the bay is lovely and a great way to start the morning. The inside is exactly as described and very comfortable. The huge bed was SO great! Beth is a great host - she gave us easy instructions and was available if we had a question. Overall, the place is just fantastic!
