This is no ordinary shepards hut. Having seen a lot of similar looking shepards huts I decided I could do one better. The hut comprises a comfortable living space, fully equipped kitchenette with sink and gas hob, a wet room come flushing loo and two upstairs bedrooms. All you need.
“Well we arrived at entrance it was easy to find. We parked the car then followed the path marked 'The Hut' through woods then got to some steps leading us down to a winding path through the woods all over hung by trees which was quite enchanting. Then we came apon the hut which looked amazing and we noticed a small clearing with chairs and a fire pit and views to die for with the glint of the sea in the distance. The hut its self is surrounded by decking, a table, chairs to sit on and admire the glorious views. The wood has a few dens for children to complete and play in, a wood to explore and a hammock to daydream in. The hut its self is perfect the cutest kitchen and the wooden clad walls of the place make it cosy and a lovely space to be in. The beds and pillows are so comfy with all round views through modern double glazed windows are awesome. There is no wifi but theres a signal. Johnny can supply you with charger batteries as there is solar power or gas. There was loads of hot water for the two of us but it was good to think about our use of the hot water and to not be wasteful. Johnny the host has info about covid and makes you be mindful of it. You can recycle which is great. Also there are games, books and a radio. But for us the whole place was amazing and the fire pit and roasting marshmallows was awesome. Rye is 5 mins away with its little shops and convenience store and pub the plough 2 mins away. They are friendly in the plough. Roast dinner is good. Johnny goes out of his way to make sure you are comfy and have everything you need. We had an amazing time. Thanks Johnny :) We hope to bring friends and come again.”

“This is a compact converted former stable. Everything is there and the bed is extremely comfortable. The is a small pond by the front door and Vivienne has a very friendly little dog called Enzo who came to say hello in the morning. We were left a very generous welcome pack which was useful after travelling. Thank you”
Old Smock Mill is a romantic place for couples. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and relaxing. Everything is designed to unwind you from the moment you walk in. It is surrounded by the lovely Kent countryside where you can ramble and refresh yourselves by perhaps ending the day in one of the great pubs cosy by a log fire in Winter or in Summer in an English garden. Guests have said how hard it is to tear themselves away, it truly is a treasure to find.
“This windmill is everything your expect and more. Spotlessly clean and finish to a very high standard with stunning original features, we instantly fell in love with it. The location and windmill its self are set in the beautiful village of Benenden, the views. Clare was the perfect host very helpful and couldn’t do enough to help in any way. The welcome basket of home grown cherries and tomatoes were delicious along with the bread, apple juice, freshly laid eggs, and farm milk & butter. We will most definitely be returning in the near future hopefully with friends as there’s so much more to see and do in the surrounding areas. Unfortunately due to the pandemic we couldn’t visit the castles we had hoped but hopefully by next time things we have returned back to normal 🤞🏻 Would 100% recommend in every way. Kelly & Henry Walls Essex.”
