“Beautiful place on the river. We stayed only for a night (stopover Noosa-Sydney) but we wished we could explore the area more. Very kids friendly (high chair, cot, changing table, bath and even potty) and very well equipped kitchen. Craig anf Helen are great hosts. Craig made us a very delicious dinner and pavlova for desert. It was what we needed after 7 hours driving. Thank you for your hospitality.”
Featured in Bella Ferarro's new video clip for "Forgot You." Situated half way between Sydney and Brisbane, 20 minutes from Macksville and 5 minutes from the coast our rustic cottage is a 100 year old workers hut on what was a dairy or beef farm. It has been partially renovated but is still quirky and unfinished. There is a rough kitchen, a functional bathroom and a lovely lounge area with polished boards and no TV. There are two bedrooms, one with a luxurious king sized bed and another with twin single beds. There is also another queen bed in the main area. Out door living is the best part of life here so the cottage has a big veranda with plenty of seating so you can hang around, BBQ and generally relax. We are 5 minutes drive (30 min walk) through the National Park to pristine Grassy Head Beach....not a house to be seen from the beach. There is generally surf at Grassy so bring a board. Go mountain biking in the National Park, snorkle at the beach or just laze about with a good book. We are 15 minutes from Scotts Head where there is a great cafe and a more gentle surf break. The phone reception here is pretty poor so think of it as a technology free holiday if you wish (desperate technophiles can find a spot with reception on the edge of the veranda).
“Gretchen was such a lovely host with a warm and friendly welcome and was happy to provide recommendations! We absolutely love the little dogs too, so did Zach, our dog) ☺️ We stayed for one night as a stop from a drive from Sydney to Brisbane. Such a lovely house we stayed in, unique, interesting, relaxing and exactly what needed after spending 2 weeks in busy Sydney. Beautiful rural location, with touches that really made us feel immersed in nature & all the amenities we needed. A lovely bathroom with windows to admire the greens landscape views. Less than 10 mins drive to Grassy Head beaches, with a wonderful off leash dog beach where we let our pup go wild. We had some yummy fish & chips nearby for dinner at the Point Cafe & Take Away. A great getaway for those who want to be away from technology & busy lifestyles.”
Our cosy self contained caravan for 2 adults and one child. Nestled amongst a quaint and fruitful garden. A calming place to rest your head after a long drive. Less than 2kms from the Pacific hwy. Wake up to the kangaroos, wallabies and birds.
“This is truly a magical sanctuary farm stay. The animals are so friendly & gentle...and the bird noises, wow. All the beautiful little interior design touches in the caravan puts a smile on your face and immediately makes the experience feel special. The hangout area makes the most of the gorgeous garden surrounding the caravan. The simple shower facilities worked perfectly & feel adequately private with a touch of Indonesia everywhere you look. I just wish I was able to stay longer to truly unwind & replenish in this idealic environment. Thank you for the fresh eggs, the USB iPhone cord & sharing your insect repellant. You fulfilled all my needs and questions promptly and completely. I wish you and your beautiful family all the best.”
