I spent two months in this apartment and the experience was absolutely impeccable. The space was clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The location is great, with easy access to everything needed for an extended stay. The host has always been available, attentive and very helpful, quickly answering any question. Without a doubt, it deserves 5 stars – I highly recommend it!

The house is located on a plot of land where there are also other inhabited and abandoned villas. The area is very quiet and far from the center of Capo Rizzuto. A supermarket is available in the center just a few minutes away by car. The apartment consists of the ground floor and an attached terrace/garden. You can park your car inside the gate to make loading and unloading even easier. The interiors have been recently renovated and are equipped with everything necessary. Ideal for stays with children. The outdoor shower is very helpful. The descent to the sea is reached within walking distance, but the stairs can be difficult for small children who are best carried in the arms. The beach is worth the whole expense: clean sand, sea always clear and protected from the waves by two breakwaters. Our kids spent whole days in the water and had the best time. Impeccable host.

We arrived late at night, but the hostess didn't sleep and guided our actions with WhatsApp. The gate was closed, the security guard was certainly not there, and I had to climb over and go for the keys in the mailbox. The village of St. Christina is at the shore of the Ionian Sea. The property is fenced off, but there is also a passageway on the side. They take care of the territory, the fields are watered every day. Downstairs is a sandy beach, with imported sand that washed to the left cape almost a kilometer away. Behind the same beach there are two campsites and a nudist hotel. The beach of the village with showers, free sunbeds and sunbeds. The sea is shallow, the bottom is sandy. There is a team of animators in the village. In the morning aqua aerobics in the sea, in the evening dancing on the site. The team is a little kvelaya, but maybe not the season, two-thirds of the cottage was empty. The bar and beach and beach have free WiFi. The territory is built up with two-storey townhouses. We got to the 1st floor. The yard is for two houses, but the neighbors don't seem to have been there for a few years. The courtyard is great, with some shadow. Inside the house it was cleaned, but in the annex with a shower, we have not been cleaned since last year. We came to clean up in the 4th day, and the sink drain came to see what to fix the day before we left. Gas cylinders were empty, but were promptly charged the next day. The apartment has a living/kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms. Everything is not very big, but quite enough. The beds are wide. There are lamps/fans everywhere. Water pressure in July was normal, but the water with an unpleasant taste, hard. The bidet barely flowed, it was impossible to use it. The beach place is great. Peaceful. You can walk along the shore. We enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed at AirBnBs in more than a dozen towns in over half a dozen countries. My Calabrese and Sicilian hosts on this recent trip to Southern Italy have outshone the others. I was only in Sicily for a night, but spent weeks in Staletti, Calabria. Raffaele not only made me feel like a special guest, he treated me as a friend. By the time I left, he had introduced me to his father, his good friend living in London, an uncle with whom I played tennis, and the card playing regulars and owner of Bar Jolli, Peppe, and his brother, Salvatore. They were born in Calgary and spoke a little English so we had that Canadian connection. I came here by myself to work from home, escaping some of the Nova Scotia winter. It was kind of Raffa to make he feel like part of the community over the holiday season. I met Babbo Natale (Santa) in neighboring Sqillace, flew to Rome to see the Pope on Xmas Eve and Day, and Raffa invited me to see the Befana on the 5th before leaving town.#1 holiday ever!
