Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

Independent 40 m2 studio located in the small village of Messinhac, at the foot of the Suc d'Ayme. Close to all amenities, 5 minutes from Yssingeaux, 20 from Puy en Velay, accommodating 2 adults (possibility of baby cot and high chair). Kitchen with fridge, microwave, electric stove, kettle, coffee maker. Bathroom with shower, sink, toilet, hair dryer. Nice little independent exterior. Possibility of breakfasts for an extra charge. WiFi during the day and until 11 p.m.

This 56 m2 suite, giving access to a private terrace of more than 15 m2 overlooking a pond, combines contemporary style and the character of old stonework. A large unoverlooked glass area will allow you to feel at one with nature. Guests can relax by the pyramid fireplace (lit from October to the end of April) as well as in the suite's private spa (jacuzzi). Breakfast will be offered with a sweet or savory option according to your preferences.

A kitchenette allows you to independently prepare your breakfast which is included in the nightly price.

I offer a place on the ground floor of my house. It has easy access to the departures of hiking trails like the Stevenson. It is also very well placed to visit the region as it is halfway between Mézenc and Puy en Velay. Amenities, shops and historic center of the village can be reached in 5 minutes by foot. I offer breakfast for those who wish and upon your arrival I will be there to welcome you and inform you.
