The Cider Gum Shack was absolutely stunning. It is equipped with literally everything that you need for your stay. There is a huge log burner in the lounge which through out lots of heat and looks lovely. It has three large double bedrooms, one with en-suite. It is within walking distance of a hotel that has a bar and restaurant. One thing to beat in mind is to get all your provisions before you head into the Central Highlands. Deloraine is an hours drive to the closest supermarket! Tom’s communications were excellent and entrance is by lock box, so very easy. If I head back to Miena this is where I’ll be staying again!

Very unique and cozy cabin. We had an amazing time there, enjoying the view of the lake through the large windows was fantastic! The house has soul and a lot of hidden details which you don't expect to find. My wife had one fun idea - would be to include a scavenger hunt as part of the stay, as the house is really suitable for that! Really peaceful atmosphere and inspires creativity. We really want to visit this cabin again in winter, to hopefully catch the snow. Really enjoyed our time here!

Our week's stay at Bull Tavern Accommodation was most comfortable and enjoyable. It was very clean, the beds comfortable, there was plenty of hot water and water pressure was excellent. The wood heater was set ready to fire up and extremely effective. Communication with Johnnie was excellent with him being both proactive and quickly responsive to any queries. Bull Tavern provided the ideal location to explore the local area and re-visit many familiar places. We did day trips to Little Pine Lagoon, Jonah Bay (Arthurs Lake), Penstock Lagoon and Tod's Corner. Walking in nature along the back roads was a pleasure and so too was taking bike rides along the highway being THE best way to appreciate the landscape and superb views over Great Lake, the Miena Dam Walls and Penstock Lagoon. We had a lovely, relaxing, restful week and would highly recommend the Bull Tavern 'experience' to others. Jill N. Oyster Cove, Tas.

A lovely spacious house with modern amenities in a quiet peaceful location. The house was clean and tidy and made for a comfortable stay, with a large kitchen and spacious living room area, all fitted out with high quality appliances and furniture. The front deck area is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the views, while taking in the serenity of the area. The location of the property made it feel very private and relaxing, even with other properties around. The house is surrounded by bushland, with walking trails out the back, and the local wallabies and deer visited early morning and evening, and the local birdlife was ever present. It's an easy drive to travel around to the various lakes, and take in the scenery, and overall it's a fantastic area to get away from it all. Kate was a great Host, replying to any queries quickly, and was friendly and accommodating.
