Cuan Cottage is one of two identical cottages (the other is Cloch Cottage) ideally situated for a peaceful holiday in Ireland’s Garden County. Located in the picturesque village of Kilquiggan, it provides the perfect base to explore Wicklow, Wexford and Carlow. The exposed granite walls, wood burning stove and sleepy surroundings will take you back to a different time, yet Cuan Cottage also contains all the modern conveniences to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
“Thomas and Rita’s cottage is lovely and cosy and just what the doctor ordered. Surrounded by rolling pastures and beautiful scenery, it’s a great escape to the country while being less than an hour and a half from Dublin. We loved the stylish but cosy decor and the stove, which had been set for us before we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, and the beds are very comfortable. Towels and bed linens were all provided, and Thomas and Rita also left us plenty of firewood. Check in and out was very simple, with the keys in a lock box when we arrived, and there’s plenty of space for parking. A lovely trip, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.”
Central House is a family run pub located on the main street of the scenic village of Shillelagh Co Wicklow. We are located 4 km from the Wicklow Way walking trail.
“The room was lovely and Sean's hospitality impeccable! Probably the best place I stayed along the Wicklow Way. It was completely refurbished, sparkling clean and had everything I needed. In the evening I had a drink at the Central House, enjoying the company of the locals :) Definitely recommend it!”
Location The Hunter's Lodge is located 1½km outside of Shillelagh village on the Carnew Road. The view from the front of the lodge is across open fields and the River Derry towards the Wicklow Way, where it crosses Stookeen Hill and Raheenakit.
“We had a perfect girlie getaway at the lodge. 4 best friends stayed for 1 night but the hosts were flexible on check out time which meant we had a leisurely lunch before hitting the road. The lodge was spotless and Philomena even brought us in an extra bean bag. It was lovely, warm and cosy on a wet winter Irish Saturday night. We cooked dinner and chatted over a glass of wine. Such bliss! Would highly recommend this space for. Girlie weekend. We also went for a forest walk nearby on the Sunday gorgeous...:)”
