This is a remote cozy cottage about 6km away from Kotagiri town. There are two private bedrooms with attached bathrooms available for rent on the first floor. Nearby attractions include a waterfall, a small dam and trekking trail. Meals can be arranged on prior notification – You may also feel free to use the shared kitchen and laundry. The property is fenced off so you can safely enjoy the occasional sighting of bison, bear, leopards, rabbits, porcupine, sambar deer and other native wildlife.
“Its a beautiful bungalow in a tea garden just five kms from Kotagiri. Gary's Mom and Dad stays in the same property. They are very nice hosts and I must admit maam is a great cook. Please look forward to very tasty breakfast. Our pet Bubbles (Labrador) almost refused to leave the house after two days stay. We also enjoyed garden fresh tree tomatos (never seen them before) and plucked Pitches from tree. Mobile signals are weak but there is wifi at home so had no problem. We went there as guests and left from there as family members with lots of good memories. I will pray for Uncle's speedy recovery. looking fwd to our next visit to Kotagiri.”
The Cottage was built in 1988. It has a coy old charm, is private and cozy. It has no caste or religious differentiation. Situated near Bandipur in Mangala valley, the cottage has its own waterhole with deer, boar & monkeys drifting in. Elephants, leopard come occasionally. I am not there but the staff are always present. The chef cooks delicious local village food and the staff is delightful. Game drives in Bandipur need to be pre-booked by you. Treks, bush dinners,sun-downers can be arranged.
My lodge is a luxury, eco-conscious safari homestay in the Bandipur Tiger Reserve, highly rated by guests, travel partners, regulators and peers alike. Our inventory consists of five living spaces on a 5-acre property.
