This amazing, private property is nestled snuggly on the most Northern tip of Cape Breton Island. Relax on the deck with a book from the private library as you listen to the whales playing in the Atlantic or travel the short distance to the wharf for fresh seafood and take in some of the local entertainment: you, too, will want to dance a jig to the fiddler's tune. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit after a fantastic hike or share a glass of wine on the balcony off the master bedroom.
“In the middle of our Celtic Colours bonanza, I wanted a place to take a break from the hustle and bustle, unwind in peace and enjoy the beauty that is Cape Breton. I am so happy I found Darryll and Jocelyn’s place. Such an awe inspiring view from the deck, listening to the ocean and the marker buoy (and I only know the second one because Sonny told me!) was the perfect medicine. This is a lovely place; comfortable and homey. There are basics available in the kitchen; which was really appreciated since I don’t travel with garlic powder, salt and pepper in my carry on. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. If you’re heading up the Cabot trail and plan to spend some time in the north highlands, stay here. You won’t regret it.”
Located with a view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence our cottage is a great get away from the everyday.
“Patsy's shack was absolutely wonderful, in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It sits on a wonderful little village that is very quiet and peaceful. It's in a wonderful location and only 12 minutes from the Cabot Trail. We met Patsy and her husband when we first arrived we were so gracious for their hospitality. They provided fresh towels and sheets and gave us great advice towards locations to check out in the area, and where and when to get food. We couldn't have had a better stay and will definitely be back. The comfortability we felt inside Patsys shack was unbeatable!”
Hi friends, I am Roland and live parts of the year in this old farmhouse on Sunrise or Big Interval, as the place is called. At the moment I have booking blocked. I have no permission to come and get the house ready. We will see what happens next. If you have good reasons to come to northern Cape Breton Island, my house could be a place to stay for you, send me a message and we might find a way for you to get into it.
“This house is very cute and clean. Our group was a 32, 52, and 82 year old woman and we had just what we needed. We used the fire pit and fireplace and the tips found in Rolands welcome letter shaped our trip and was a very good trip. His house is the ideal location for exploring Meat Cove, the park, and east and west sides of the island. We flew into Halifax and drove up the Cheticamp side to get to Rolands, then drove to Ingonish and further south. Also went to meat cove one day. Meat Cove is lots of gravel and slightly rutted to get to the top but worth the drive. Drove down to Peggys Cove on the way back to Halifax. I’m very happy with the location of this home, but we most enjoyed the charm of the old house with nice updates like the deck up top. The mountain and water view is closer and than the pictures show too. Wish I lived there all the time. Great stay.”
