“Jan’s place far exceeded our expectations. It is as pictured and more and I have already recommended her space to family. Jan was a great host and communicated when needed. She was kind enough to spend time discussing the history of the building and her restoration process. The living space along with the seating and beds were comfortable and the space was impeccably clean and stylish.”
Make this home your home away from home along Thibodaux's Bayou Lafourche. Enjoy watching the alligators, turtles, and fish from the bayouside patio. Bring your fishing poles, lots of fish to catch and clean your fish in the outdoor kitchen. Quiet, tranquil little home, with awesome amenities to complete a much needed vacation.
“Stylish and very comfortable. Great shower and huge bed. Right on the banks of the bayou-fun to see the turtles, ducks and alligators. Out of downtown, but plenty close to make it easy to go out to dinner. We also went to New Orleans for the day-about 1.5 hours each way, which was easy. Warm hospitality.”
Our circa 1905 Victorian home is in the heart of the Franklin Historic District. We are 1 block from a quaint downtown area complete with charming shops. We are in a great area for walking and biking to enjoy the sites of the magnificent Victorian era homes, downtown or a casual stroll along Bayou Teche. You will also have use of a balcony that over looks the lovely neighborhood. It is perfect for a cup of coffee or a cocktail. The Chittamacha Casino and Resort is only 15 minutes away.
“We stopped in Franklin for an overnight as we traveled to New Mexico. We enjoyed the hospitality, location, and house so much that we actually decided to extend our stay there. Our hosts were brand new to airbnb but they were clearly born to do this! They were extremely thoughtful and had great local recommendations; we enjoyed all of our conversations with them but they certainly let us have our space. The house itself is gorgeous and on a safe, quiet street, and had everything we needed for our stay. If we head back east along the same route we'll be sure to schedule our trip around another weekend stay! This was one of our favorites!”
