Our cottage built in 1890 is located in the Central District of the island in a colorful neighborhood just off Broadway. We are only One Mile from the Beach, Pleasure Pier, The Strand District or Cruise Ship parking terminals. Enjoy plentiful breezes on the front porch or relax on the deck out back. The house can sleep eight people and there is ONE bathroom (off a bedroom) with a clawfoot tub and shower. We also have a full kitchen. We are your ideal night-before-a-cruise location!
“This house is a rare survivor of the 1900 hurricane. Twin to the house next to it, which is not redone. So you can really see the contrast and what a wonderful job they’ve done. Very comfortable master bed, two small single beds. Couches pull out as well. One bathroom. Nice outdoor space in the back. Great kitchen. Just everything you need, clean, well priced & good location with communicative host. Good binder of info about the house, food recommendations, etc. Would stay again.”
The cute "Yellow Gator" cottage with amazing views is in Galveston's Sea Isle community. It's a 2 bedroom that sleeps 6 (with queen sleeper sofa). The house with boat dock and hot/cold outdoor shower is just 100 meters from West Galveston Bay, easily accessed by the canal. Easy 1000 meters walk/drive to the beach. Fishing is fantastic in this area even from the dock. 25 minute drive to city of Galveston. The neighborhood has a full service marina, restaurant and bar.
“This home was everything we needed for a wonderful Father’s Day weekend. We were able to fish right from the backyard and also drop in our kayaks and paddle the canal with leisure. The beach access was less than a 5 minute drive away which was perfect to go boogie board and then come home for a quick lunch and a long nap. The evenings were for night fishing thanks to the underwater light and the boat dock. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Enjoy your morning coffee off the back deck and watch the amazing sunset from the front deck, this vacation home has it all! Thank you Doug and Karen for your wonderful hospitality, my family and I appreciate you both.”
I bought this home for me and my family because it had a lot of character and Victorian flare! I’m not able to spend as much time in it as I would like to, so I wanted to share it with others. It’s centrally located, only a half mile to the beach! I even provide beach towels and an outdoor shower. There are also a lot of great restaurants that are in walking distance! Only two miles from the cruise port and the Strand. Not far from any of the attractions you may want to enjoy!
“We had a great visit. Mari's place was immaculate and VERY relaxing. We did get down to Penny's and had some very good tamales, I would absolutely recommend the tamales although we did not try their BBQ, it sure smelled good. We also ran into a local couple that escorted us around the Strand area, introducing us to their friends and happy hour at Willie G's (another fine establishment). So, with all of that going on, we really appreciated being able to return to you house and decompress in such a welcoming environment. Again, many thanks for allowing us to hang out in your home!
