We offer a private 700 square foot apartment over the top of our detached garage. The space is located a block away from a coffee shop and the Badger State Trail.
“This is an excellent place to stay! It was clean, easy to find and access, and was extremely comfortable! Andrew and Racqi are excellent hosts who not only responded quickly and worked with us to make our stay amazing, but also extended extra sweet gestures, like leaving a plate of cookies for us to find upon our arrival! We highly recommend this carriage house! My husband and I stayed two days and will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area!”

“Danielle was very easy-going and trusting, which makes being a guest a pleasure. Her home and guest room were welcoming and I felt free to come and go, w/o constraint. This is a rare sentiment when hosts often have long lists of dos-and-dont’s. Wading through those, when one only wants to rest after travels, can be taxing. Danielle was home for check in, gave a brief tour and explanation of the amenities in the house and excused herself to let me store things in the designated area in her fridge and make dinner to enjoy on her pleasant terrace. I felt at home for the remainder of my visit and checked out , locking the door behind me, after a good night’s rest.”
The Mill House Retreat is set in a park like setting next to the Sugar River. Built in 1864, this stone grist mill has soaring 15ft ceilings, original fittings and luxurious finishes. You will be greeted by chesterfield sofas, a large bar area, and comfortable beds. Just minutes to bike trails, art galleries, live music, restaurants, and bars. Guests are welcome to have local friends over to enjoy the setting and reminisce. Madison, New Glarus and Epic are just minutes away.
“This was really an excellent find. The loft is inside an old sawmill (or maybe flour mill) situated in the center of a small town (Paoli). But even though Paoli is small, from Friday through Sunday there was live music at a few different venues. The area felt like an entertainment hub for the surrounding communities. A couple little restaurants and shops surround the mill. There is a little park/grass area with a Sunday farmer’s market right outside the mill. It stands right next to the Sugar River which is a great spot for taking a dip on a warm summer day. The weekdays are slow around Paoli, but my fiancé and I didn’t mind because we got out to explore neighboring communities and enjoyed the calm around the mill. I expect we’ll find another time to return to the mill house and maybe check out the third floor space that Lori is working on.”
