Cottage vacation rentals in Breerivier

A beautifully peaceful spot to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the farm, and stargazing from the hot tub. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was neat with a large shower.

This is a lovely cottage with a peaceful atmosphere and fantastic mountain views. There were a couple of snags during our stay, but the hosts were quick to respond to any needs

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

Lovely stay, accommodation has everything you need. Felt right at home, it’s neat and tastefully decorated. Highlight is the hot tub which is always a win. The views were peaceful and serene. My kids loved the communal pool, hammock and playing outdoors in the front area of the house. Will definitely return!

We had a great stay and enjoyed the peaceful and quiet location in a nature reserve with kudu, springbok & eland grazing near the house at sunrise. Plenty of area to walk or mountain bike.

We had the most wonderful stay at Rivergate. The farm is gorgeous and peaceful and if you like these sort of environments, this place is for you. Our family enjoyed the beautiful interiors and exteriors and the hot tub was an utter hit with the kids. A highlight was the fresh breakfast basket delivered every morning. The farm has lots to enjoy from kayaks and canoes for the river, walks, flower picking and more. It was such a delight and I hope we can be back for a visit in the future. Our one negative was that we unfortunately had small bats nesting in the roof of our bedroom which disturbed us in the evenings. The Rivergate family was seeing to their removal so hopefully they won’t be a bother for anyone else. It’s a rural and beautiful setting so understandably you will share space with some creatures but this did not detract from the wonderful stay here.

We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and private. We loved the wood-fired hot tub!! The unit was clean and we loved the location.

We had a wonderful family stay at Ontevreden. The house has everything you need and more. I still cannot get over the most amazing mountain views, and peacefulness of the farm. The hosts were fabulous and answered all of our questions, as well as accomodating our requests. Thank you for the unforgettable weekend my family that we will talk about for years to come!

What a great stay! The place was incredibly neat, comfortable, and had such a homely feel — exactly what we needed. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and it felt like a true home away from home. We spent 3 blissful days Ilah's place. An idyllic location with stunning views of the ocean and the mountain. The house was well maintained and very well equipped. Ilah was responsive and accommodating when we needed to change dates. We do not hesitate in recommending Ilah's place, if you are looking for peace, beauty, ease and a homey feeling.

A truly beautiful and peaceful place right up against nature. A house obviously lovingly designed for a smooth and convenient cooking and living experience. The views were stunning. Would love to come back!

A beautiful olive farm just off Route 62, very quiet and peaceful location, the rustic barn is restored with lots of love and style. The patio area is clean and spacious, wonderful for relaxing, braaing, doing yoga, reading. The outside and inside showers have super hot water and great pressure. The indoor braai is huge and perfect for both ambiance and cooking. Strong lamp for reading in the living room. A simple and airy space with tall ceilings and lovely old wooden furniture and decor artefacts. Perfect for relaxation! Surroundings are quiet with just a couple of picturesque neighboring farms, buildings also thoughtfully restored. Options for walking around, and of course day drives to cute towns along R62 if you're staying for a few nights. The hosts were very helpful, kind, and accommodating. I can only recommend this place!

Wow, we have never felt so relaxed. Our stay was during a very cold and rainy period and the cabin offered a perfectly cozy getaway for us to truly unwind and get away from our busy corporate Cape Town lives. The fireplace and pizza oven were highlights for us. The road leading up to the cabin had us a bit nervous at times as it was quite muddy and uneven, a bigger SUV or bakkie will be completely fine. We will 100% be back for a longer stay next time. We couldn’t recommend it more.

We had a great stay at At Patat for the week. It is a well located venue in a secure estate. The house was nice and clean. We struggled a bit with the check in and check out. During check in, the care taker struggled finding our reservation. Then also had my wrong mobile number, and not the one I sent to the owner. On the day of check out, the care take sent us a message 35min before check out saying that we should bring the keys because they want to come and clean for the next visitors. We couldn't find the hair dryer in the house, which was on the listing, so just take your own. Also couldn't find any braai tongs, only a braai grid. Really enjoyed staying and At Patat!

We spent a much needed 4 nights at Susan's place. Sam, her co-host and also permanent resident at the accommodation was always so friendly and checked in on us often. The best part about this place was the location and the fact that our dogs were welcome. We were all in a beachy heaven! Nostalgia definitely set in having spent most of my childhood holidays in Gordon's Bay. Every spot held a memory. We'll be back for sure.

11/10. Incredible stay! 10 minute drive from downtown Franschoek and easy access to all surrounding wineries. The property is gorgeous and the private salt pool is amazing, especially on hot days. Kitchen is brand new and well equipped, we enjoyed cooking there, especially grilled lamb chops with a bottle of the property’s merlot on our last night. Hope to come back for another visit soon!

Jackson cottage is in a beautiful location. If you want a peaceful, rural digital detox this is your place. 5 minute drive into town with everything on hand, a few decent coffee shops and restaurants. The pool is great and very welcome.

I absolutely loved my stay. The farm is so scenic and peaceful. The cottage is much bigger than it looks on the photos. It had everything I needed and was very comfortable. There are loads to see and do. Especially if you love birds. Beautiful and easy walking trails. Perfect to break away. The hosts are kind, helpful and passionate about the farm.

We loved our stay a Jackal River Farm and will definitely be back with the rest of our family. Very comfortable home and outside facilities with everything your need and more. Thanks Dwayne.

We planned a riverside getaway with some friends and a boat. House has a lovely deck overlooking the river and floating jetty- we spend many hours there. The house itself is really well suited for a family. It has ample outdoor furniture and deck space to enjoy. The Nespresso machine was a treat. The area is safe and quiet, neighbours are close, but never felt intrusive. The house has access to a well kept slipway- launching a smallish boat with a 4x4 was pretty straight forward. Reaching the house with a 2x4 is possible, but would recommend using a 4x4.

Beautiful wooden cottage in a quiet little coastal village- fell in love with the cabin at first sight and could have stayed forever. ;)

Lovely little farm cottage with access to a beautiful swimming pool. Basic amenities but perfect for a couple on a budget and close to the town centre.

By far one of the best experiences ever. Basically you will live like farmer. The facility was comfortable and clean little bet cold but Henk (the host) provide wood for heating. Highly recommend. I will visited again
