Cottage vacation rentals in British Isles

From the moment we arrived caitríona was there to greet us and show us around. The cottage was so cosy and warm the hot tub was ready for use and stayed warm all night really enjoyed sitting outside under the stars and how peaceful an quiet it was the whole trip was so enjoyable and the pizza oven was fab not to forget the 2 doggies who were so friendly pottering around. 100% recommend staying here will be back in the furniture. Thanks so much for having us and been a fantastic host.

Paul and Emma were lovely hosts, great communication, the cottage was lovely and homely with everything you need and although on a main road you couldn’t really tell once inside. The double bed was super comfy!! We slept really well there, the double room is small but there’s plenty of space to put luggage elsewhere. The hot tub is very exposed so I imagine it is incredible on a clear sky - unluckily we were there during a storm! There are a couple of great restaurants nearby which we enjoyed, The Oystercatcher and Sandy Mount House. Thanks Paul and Emma, we hope to visit again with better weather! 😂 x

The cottage was perfect with breath taking veiws! Rosie had made the place child friendly before our arrival by putting up a travel cot and high chair. There was also a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs. Rosie reccomended local walks which suited our needs with a 1 year old. Rosie was a great host and we were made to feel very welcome and at home. Great location. We will definitely return. Thank you Gary, Lucy and Casper x

A beautiful, spacious cottage in a stunning location. There are plenty of incredible hikes nearby & coming back to soak in the hot tub with lovely views was wonderful.

I would highly recommend visiting The Old Potting Shed if you're heading to Yorkshire. Rachel & James thought of everything to ensure our stay was enjoyable. They realised we were visiting with three toddlers and so checked on our needs at the point of booking to ensure we had all we needed upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. It was clean, well equipped and situated in a stunning location. James popped in to introduce himself and check we had all we needed for our stay. Thank you Rachel and James for an enjoyable experience! We'd love stay again some time.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Ideal for a quiet break with our dogs. The cottage was warm, homely and comfortable and most importantly clean. Would highly recommend for a peaceful stay ☺️

We stayed for our anniversary, we wanted something homely & peaceful and thats exactly what we got. Lovely home, couldn’t fault it, located in a beautiful place. We had the best nights sleep we had in a long time 10/10. Will definitely be returning thank you.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It has been the perfect base to explore the northern lakes (Helvellyn/Derwent Water/Blencathra). It felt like a home away from home and had everything we’ve needed. The extra little touches made the difference- the fireplace being set up to light and the lovely neighbours giving us an insight into the local history. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable beds and piping hot water. All the kitchen facilities that we needed, except for dishwasher, but coped with a little elbow grease for 3 days! Would happily stay here again.

What a lovely, cosy cottage. It was beautifully presented with fresh flowers, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The welcome cake, Prosecco and milk were really thoughtful touches and gratefully received. Communication from our hosts was fantastic and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dog Cottage and can’t wait to visit again.

Our second time in this lovely cottage (with the addition of one more child and a dog!) and it was (again) perfect. The cottage is super cozy and warm. The kitchen equipment is amazing. The location was wonderfully remote, offering a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The log burner was a fantastic feature, especially on the colder evenings! Us and our dogs thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful walks nearby, there were a few books/leaflets of things to do, including one book of valley walks - the one starting at Dolwyddelan train station was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tranquil outdoors getaway!

Amazing stay with me and my friends for a birthday week. Perfect location and perfect base for all our hikes during the week. Definitely recommend

We had a lovely time staying at the cottage. The cottage was a great base for our exploring round the Isle of Wight. I can imagine the decking area is lovely in the summertime. Lots of space out the back for our dog to run around outside. The rooms were good size and clean and the kitchen well stocked with utensils and cooking items. Gail was very helpful and responsive and we are very grateful!

Lovely place to stay. Beautifully clean and very peaceful. Easy access to local towns. The bed was particularly comfortable. Like sleeping on a cloud. Very well equipped and appointed. Joanna was lovely and very friendly. Great host

Really comfortable stay. Great location for Legoland and London. Communication with Nic was so good and they were so accommodating for us and our children. Very peaceful setting and the children loved waking up to see the horses in the distance.

A beautiful home set in stunning grounds, perfect for a night away. Annette's home was spotlessly clean with ample firewood to keep away the cold. The bed and sofa were super comfortable and overall it was a super lovely home away from home. The only difficulty I encountered was getting our justeat delivery driver to find us as it was dark, hard to find and there is no signal at the place. This didn't effect our stay at all just thought it might be worth a mention if you're arriving late!

The quirky house and Katarinas cottage are like the Beatrix Potter movie come alive. We felt at home at once. Katarina is a very friendly and caring host. We can definitely recomend the accomodation!

A blissful location, so peaceful (and without any human noise!), epic landscapes out of every window, just gorgeous. The cottage was warm and cozy, well equipped and a pleasure to spend time in. The boot room was exceptional for de-rigging after a day on the slopes at The Lecht! Just make sure you take snow chains if you are there in the winter as the track up to the cottage is narrow and steep.

This is a gorgeous location with beautiful surroundings. David and Jenny are fabulous hosts, very responsive and helpful with a lovely little cottage that is warm and cozy, highly recommend for a getaway to peace
