The house is a small cosy 1 bedroom cottage in the centre of the village of Horrabridge in Devon. There is one double bedroom and an additional single bed in the sitting room. It has been recently refurbished and all the plumbing and electrics are new, it has gas central heating, double glazing and Wi-Fi. There is a garden across the road and a secure shed for bikes etc. There is unrestricted on street parking in the area and usually you can park close by.
“What a beautiful cottage, me and my partner stayed at Bramble Cottage for 5 nights over the New Year. The cottage it self is fully equipped, thoughtful touches through out. It very much felt as though we were in our own home. The village is very small, and has a river stream few yards from the cottage which is very picturesque. I would suggest having a car when staying here, as the supermarket for a big shop is distant. Having a car would also allow to visit other towns and villages. We had a perfect stay, and would strongly recommend anyone wanting a quiet getaway to stay at Bramble cottage. Thank you Santosh for a great stay. I would hope to stay again in the not so distant future. All the best. Jay”
Stylishly furnished well appointed apartment in the picturesque village of Buckland Monachorum, it as an ideal base for exploring both Devon and Cornwall. The totally renovated apartment is situated above the Drake Manor , a cosy historic Inn dating back to the 12th Century. It was part of the Buckland Abbey estate and was owned in the 16th century by Sir Francis Drake.
“This was a genuine 10 out of 10 Stay. The apartment, The pub, The village and of course Mandy who was the perfect host and pub landlady. Pre visit queries were dealt within minutes of posting and she was the same once we arrived and always on hand to help and advice. The accommodation is faultless. Everything is catered for including, games, DVD's and wi fi speakers. Tea, coffee, milk and even local apple juice and some lovely buscuits were a nice touch and typical of the whole stay. You could knock up a great meal in this kitchen but why would you when the pub food below is excellent. The village is what most people would think is THE perfect West Country village. Cannot recommned highly enough and we will be back. Thank you Mandy.”
The Old Smithy is set is a secluded valley on the river Tavy. It is a mile from the nearest road, down a private track through beautiful moorland and woodland. It's an ideal base for walking, cycling wild swimming and getting away from it all, a true nature lovers paradise! We live in a house on the same site so will be on hand for any advice or assistance. We are on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and an hour's drive from numerous beaches. The thriving town of Tavsitock is 7 miles away.
“The most beautiful setting hidden deep in the forest. The accommodation was beautifully done, super clean, and the little touches by the most wonderful hosts Crispin and Caroline was fantastic. We couldn’t fault how attentive Crispin and Caroline have been on messages, and ensuring we found the location without trouble. We went with our wobbly walking 1 year old baby and dog and it was a home away from home. My only advice for those without a car with a decent amount of clearance, or an SUV is to be my mindful the final 0.5 miles is a very rough track. We did it in our family Mini but there were a few close to the bottom moments. Crispin always offered to pick us up from the lay-by just before the track turns rough so this shouldn’t stop you. If you have kids they’d love the experience of being picked up in Crispin’s pick-up truck! Couldn’t recommend it more - we will definitely be rebooking!”
